I'm not trying to hate on people for choosing a female character, but I don't understand why such a large percentage of players do in comparison to other games.
Think Skyrim. I almost never see female characters, I've watched tons of videos of it.
Or WoW (hold the rage, please). More females, perhaps, but not that many more.
Even Dragon Age: Origins lacked them.
Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect seem to have an oddly high number of female characters. I've heard the voice actor for FemShep is great, but honestly I find the male one to be equally as great, if not better.
So why, She-pards, did you make that choice? Do you think the voice acting is better? Lesbian scenes/staring at dat ass?
So, why FemShep?

Jennifer Hale is my childhood; why would I not choose femshep/lady hawke?

A combination of male Shepard sounding too bland, sort of like Superman and, tbh, lesbians. XD

Girls are hotter imo.

When I play a third person shooter sometimes I prefer to stare at a shapely females' butt for 100+ hours.

So, I believe the consensus is lesbians.
Won't lie, when whatsherfaceidontbotherrememberinghernames started leading me on but then told me she was more attracted to a robot than me, well, it hurt.

One of my Shepards is female, and I've enjoyed it a lot. Jennifer Hale does a much better paragon shep.

These games have a larger percentage of female gamers. It's just as natural for them to pick a female character as it is for men to pick a male character. Or the other way around, I suppose.

I'm a woman IRL, I find it easier to relate to one in game. Not much more to it than that.

I only played femshep once, and I didn't like the voice. She always sounds tired and reluctant to me

Jennifer Hale delivering the best vocal tracks I've personally ever heard.
She just does it better... plus it's way more attractive seeing a female drag a bad guy over cover and shove an omni blade down there throat... I'm not into the whole roleplay as if I'm the character myself thing.... I see my Femshep and she is Shepard to me... I'd rather see her kick ass then the Broshep.

You'll see more female characters in pc skyrim as time goes on. The female bodymods and custom armor has a tendancy to be far more popular.
As to why in ME? In ME1, Jennifer Hale had better VA [imo, I do acknowledge others disagree] and couldn't stand to play shepaloo. And generally, I tend to play female characters.

Meh, I've never been too big on playing as FempShep. Everyone else seems to love her though.
