Go to Skyrim Nexus. Look around for female exclusive armors. Done? Now search for male exclusive armors, or even unisex ones. Did you notice there are 10 female ones for every male one? Yeah. Might want to rethink that statement and watch more varied videos.gmboy902 wrote...
Think Skyrim. I almost never see female characters, I've watched tons of videos of it.
Regarding Mass Effect, two reasons:
- Jennifer Hale is by far the better voice actress.
- I like girls.

Not to mention theres something distinctly more badass about Femshep but I can't quite work out what.
I tend to just mix it up in games depending on how I feel though. I've got a male character in Skyrim and Oblivion but play Femshep in ME. I tend to have a mixture in any MMOs I play with a slight leaning towards more female characters than male. However in Mount and Blade I tend to play male. Dunno what influences my decision but I just feel "better" about playing certain genders in certain games.

Don't want to stare on some guy's ass through entire game. I'm not gay.gmboy902 wrote...
I'm not trying to hate on people for choosing a female character, but I don't understand why such a large percentage of players do in comparison to other games.
Think Skyrim. I almost never see female characters, I've watched tons of videos of it.
Or WoW (hold the rage, please). More females, perhaps, but not that many more.
Even Dragon Age: Origins lacked them.
Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect seem to have an oddly high number of female characters. I've heard the voice actor for FemShep is great, but honestly I find the male one to be equally as great, if not better.
So why, She-pards, did you make that choice? Do you think the voice acting is better? Lesbian scenes/staring at dat ass?

I love the Honor Harrington books (David Weber, military sci-fi, awesome!). And she's a strong female character. I like both genders of the Shepard character, but the female version seems to get more of the angst of being a commander that has to make difficult decisions regarding life and death of her squadmates, the war effort and ultimately the fate of the galaxy (in whatever version/ending there might be).
It boils down to personal preference, really.
Yeah, definitely! My femShep's choices is patterned VERY closely to what I think Honor Harrington would do.

EDIT: My FemSheps are inspired by Rhona Mitra in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and Doomsday. That might explain the odd little Renegade actions here and there.

My Femshep had a tragic love life.
That and, I like the humble pie that bad guys eat after "getting beat by a girl durr". One more thing is just the uniqueness of it - so little video games have amazing female leading characters. It is more rare to see a cool female than a cool guy be the star of the story, and Femshep just does it so well I couldn't pass it up.

You've got the choice between Mark Meer, who frankly I've never even heard of before Mass Effect, and Jennifer-freaking-Hale as your voice actor/actress. One has a relative handful of roles, the other is one of the most accomplished voice actresses in the entire world.
Not to mention theres something distinctly more badass about Femshep but I can't quite work out what.
I feel awful that I'd never paid much attention to her credits before ME....even though I realized I'd been hearing her voice all along. It was only after playign ME that I took a look at her roles, and I was stunned to see her resume.
Nothing but praise and respect for her
