Yeah topic says it all.

I cant play "with my friends" because every time I enable Origin in game, the game becomes unplayable.
Even the Menus lag as hell (when moving the cursor to the "multiplayer" menu item it needs to stay there
for around 3 seconds until the game even recognized (and thus highlights) that menu item).

gets even worse when i try to buy packs in the store.
and when i actually PLAY the game, my FPS went down from 60 fps VSynch cap to 3-5 FPS making the game stutter very very hard and thus make it unplayable.

As soon as i disable origin in game everything runs smooth again but i am unable to invite friends or let them invite me.

My system:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 (@3,42 GHz)
16 GB RAM (@7-8-7-24 @1600Mhz)
AMD/ATI Sapphire HD6950 @HD6970 (unlocked)
Game is installed and run on a OCZ Vertex 3 SSD.

Playing ME3 @1680x1050 with 8xEQ AA and 16xAF, VSynch on and everything else set to one/max.
Graphics driver is the latest Cat 12.2.

So what the hell is going on?

I've had similar problems.

The problem is with Origin - memory leaks. If you view the CPU usage in task manger then you might find that one of the cores (the fourth core?) is killing itself.

I found that restarting Origin fixes the problem...For a while.

nope happens from the first second i start origin/me3 until the bitter end. so actually i am unable to use this feature at all at the moment and thus be unable to play with friends. leading this whole "mp idea" ad absurdum...

Hi,

These problems are usually caused by outdated drivers or certain software on your machine (Fraps, certain anti-viruses etc).
Please be sure you have the latest graphics driver installed, you have white-listed the ME3 and Origin folder from your anti-virus and that you don't have any un-necessary software running when you are running ME3.

Joe

Well actually this is a good point because i use a very restrictive security layer (COMODO Internet Security to be precise), but i already whitelisted the binaries as well as added Origin to the list of exceptions for "protect from shell code injections" allowing the Origin client to interact with the me3 binary.

Otherwise i wouldn't be able to launch the game at all ;). So i don't think that this is the issue. Drivers are also up to date as far as i know (the Catalyst 12.3 is out since a few minutes and offers only support for the new introduced HD78XX Cars so i didn''t update, yet).

Fraps is also present, but not running. Might there be additional files like some of the DLLs which have to be whitelisted? (although my CIS would anounce me when/if it blocks something... so i doubt it).

€dit:
just double checked, the logs are clean. my security layer definitly did NOT block any of the origin or me3 related files.
Oh running a Win 7 64 Bit SP1 OS btw! Forgot to mention it in the first post.

€dit2:
switching to "gaming mode" with CIS and thus disabling most of its protections (which is always a BAD idea!) did not fix it either.

Would you be able to disable Comodo entirely for a few minutes just to rule that out?
Even though it isn't blocking anything, it could be slowing down communication for one reason or another. If that's the cause I can pass the feedback onto the Origin team to investigate.

see my edit2. happend at the same time as your post, sorry.

i can try to temporary shut Defense+ (the part of CIS that takes care about the file execution controls, etc) down completly but i dislike even thinking about it...Will do it just to make sure that it is not CIS related (i really doubt that!).

Will report back, soon.

Ok re:

as i already assumed, it didn't change anything.
I completly disabled all protection functions including the security layer, firewall and anti virus, restarted origin with admin priviliges (just to be sure...) and turned on "origin in game" or how ever this function is called in english.

the result stays the same. the intro video of ME3 runs smooth. but as soon as i reach the Menu or the game (no matter if single or multiplayer) the game starts to stutter and becomes unplayable.
when i exit the game and disable that function again, everything runs fine.

Oh and just in case it is from any importance:

when in game with the stuttering going on, my system has the following load values:

Core 0, 1, 2 and 3 are pending between 15% and 79% load each while the GPU is bored at 33% usage.
When tabbing out of ME3 in order to check the processmanager Origin idles @0% CPU load.

With the option DISABLED (and the game working fine)
the CPU loads are quite the same but the GPU load is "much" higher. Varying from 40 to 60%.

€dit:
i wonder if this issue could be related to AA and AF driver enforcement? Because i guess that "origin in game" adds an additional layer to the DirectDraw which overlays the acutal game window?
Just like tools like Fraps do, too...
So could this "confuse" the graphics driver somehow resulting in a f*cked up performance?

Man this circumstances doesn't make me think better about Origin... Such a piece of useless software...

That's a shame.
The best people in a position to help you would be the Origin team and Community.

You can reach the Origin forums here and the Origin Support team here.
I'd suggest posting on the forums as I know the Origin development team keep an eye on them and someone else may have already solved the problem.

Sorry I couldn't be of further assistance.

Would posting on those forums require passing through the Omega-4 Relay?

Oh wait... wrong storry... i mean:
do i have to create an account to do so? Or will my "Origin ID" work?

Just to inform others that might have the same issue (it still persists and i still cant play with my friends in MP!), here is the ongoing "discussion" with an EA employe where we try to find a solution...

Just to let you know (see the linked thread in the EA support forum in the post above):
it seems like EA yet again don't give a f*ck about this problem. Still can't play the MP with my friends.
I am done with this now.

No need to have Origin installed any longer.
Playing ME3 on Gold with PUGs is like sitting naked on glowing hot coals.

I had that problem. In my case both comodo defense+ and also the mouse itself were to blame. I have two mouses and the problem only happens with one. Decreasing the polling rate of the mouse was the first solution I came to. Since then I got in contact with ea and they gave me a dll file which I copy pasted to origin folder and it solves the problem in my case. The dll is IGO32.dll

it cant be caused by COMODO in my case because i already did a test with CIS disabled completly.

and why the hell should my mouse polling rate be the case of this !$(T(/!$%(!? Every other Game works with the same mouse and same settings. So does ME3 as long as i DO NOT USE Origin.

So to hell with Origin!
And if EA really told you to use another DLL file, why the hell do they ignore my case? Don't you think that they should know about "your solution"?

Hey. I only said what was the culprit in my case and as I said the polling mouse was the problem in my case.

This is the ea forum thread I opened:

http://forum.ea.com/...2.page#20819357

Below the email sent to me:

Hey Sergio,

The developers have modified a IGO32.dll file and would like you to try it to see if that fixes your issue. The IGO32.dll is attached to the email. Simply grab that file and place it into your Origin Client directory (default location C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin). If prompted to move and replace, please back up the original IGO32.dll file and replace it with the new IGO32.dll that’s attached to this email. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to reply.

Cheers,

Joel

Don't know why they ignore your case and by the way there was one origin update after the email contacts and the problem is still there so I can only guess. Since I had the dll I simply changed it again after the update.

Edit: the most I can do is share the dll to those interested in trying it. It solves the problem for me.

yeah i would at least try that DLL (after i checked it of cause ;))... would be nice if you can "share" that file (as long as this doesn't conflict with any copyrights or what ever law stuff).

There is no copyright or law stuff involved since they would have to include such clauses in the email.

Don't forget to backup the file before replacing it.

http://social.biowar...m/project/8169/

Also I would be grateful for feedback. If it works for you maybe I'll contact ea again to ask why the fix was not included in the last origin update. Hope it works.

Do you also have logfiles enabled? This together with the origin overlay causes a extreme drop in FPS.

good that I found this post on forum.
I would like to add further that I don't use any kind of anti virus on my desktop [hopefully I'm not infected by a virus] and I'm still getting this problem since last week.

I do use fraps. But I've tried playing without it but it didn't help solving it.

i've uploaded a video about my problem on this post:
http://social.biowar.../index/11135368

Did you guys got any solution on this problem?

Thanks for posting the link of the origin post.
I read your conversation on the origin forums but I don't find it helpful as I'm using the pre-released version of origin and I've only one monitor, and I'm still getting those stutter.
