Nope, not if you romanced him. If you romanced Thane he wants to fight to live just so he can be with shep but it's a shame they completely did a 180 on his personality this time around. Besides I don't really get this line of thinking; to me death is such a terrible thing even if it’s heroic (I'm not trying to troll you I just disagree).

Not only that, it really is lazy to make the dying person make a sacrifice for the greater good. I mean, it's not so heroic if they were going to die anyway.

But worse than that, Thane's character swung back to the way he had been at the beginning of ME2, resigned to death. He was determined to live for Shepard and Kolyat at the end of ME2.

All I want is a CHOICE to save/cure Thane. Every other character from ME2 was shown that courtesy. What happened to that for Thane? And as far as the "he was dying anyway" goes - so what? We cured the genophage, Mordin is a genius, AND a cure was already being worked on. Easy peasy. Add some space magic (ME3 is full of it) and voila! Choice to cure/save, with a little quest and everyone's happy. For those that want him to die, let him die.

Thought I'd post this link of Thane's ME2 Romance scene so people will get what were talking about when we say that Thane's character in ME3 makes no sense.
Warning, ME2 Thane romance scene spoiler.

Signed! What a total retcon of his character change, what completely unsatisfying and unemotional interactions and reactions, what a completely tacked on romance. I could go on but I won't. People who support addtional choice for the romancers do so because they actually care about character integrity and think story continuity is important (especially in a game like mass effect).

Most importantly it's telling the writers that no it's NOT OK that they forgot he was a love interest. That was the excuse that was given for those who don't know. They admitted the writers "dropped the ball" about that little detail. Anyone with access to youtube could have probably learned more about Thane's character then these professional writers did.

if im honest thanes death was the best way he couldve went out in my opinion instead of going through months of agony and illness he died Being a hero and generally the badass SOB that he is tho i agree more dialogue between him and shep wouldve been awesome ... hell more dialogue with all the old squaddies wouldve been great.

it seems bioware removed alot of the emotional investment from this game ... theres very few scenes that gripped me like the previous games .... and when they did it was usually because someone died or almost died =/

Bioware didn't want to spend any time with extra dialog for our FemSeps that loved him. It was a generic dialog because they just stream lined the whole game. It's been months and I still feel cheated! It was cheap and impersonal. =(.

Holy crap
There's the:
Thane thread
Protesting the treatment of thane's romance
Why saving thane would not invalidate his character
and now this thread.

Holy god people, 4 threads???

Your worse than Ron Paul's supporters...

No, they'll be on Paul levels when they start blindly supporting it without any knowledge of what they're supporting. Example:

"Save Thane Krios"

Bioware: "Ok, but he'll die of a gunshot wound later on."

"Alright we're in! Great job everyone! Thane 2012!"

Thane Krios got a hero's ending. He sacrificed himself for the sake of another.

A lot of people aren't that lucky.

Not signing. :P

It's mainly for the people who romanced him, Grey Nayr. It's annoying that Thane appears to have no will to stay alive for the sake of his siha.

He's either selfish or lazily written, take your pick.

Thane had accepted his death as inevitable. Even in ME2 when you begin the romance, both FemShep and Thane understand that it isn't going to last.

Thane explained that his condition was incurable and had resigned himself to his fate. Romance or no.
