Same here, I can express myself though my art than words. However I will help you in this petition. You will take credit, but I can help you make it happen. Just hit me up here on BSN. My main tongue is German, but it took me a long long time to get this far in English.

I don't need or want Thane "saved" I mean if they want him dead, he's their baby to kill. But a better romance excecution? I am 100% in support of that.

Just want this to be done well so we may have a chance for our petition to be noticed.
I'll send a PM to a few that have been following this thread closely, and ask them for their suggestions.
Ill try to have a better rough tomorrow to get things moving.

I was rather upset with Thane's treatment in ME3. BW had spent so much time and effort making Thane not only to appeal as a FemShep romance, but to be be an appealing character to everyone. Hell Thane had been practically the first new poster character in marketing ME2 and remained a huge part of the whole marketing campaign of ME2.

Heck how could you not love the character from just how the player was introduced to Thane in ME2? His intro was the most bad@ss intro I've ever seen, From the very beginning Thane became a fan favorite.

Also there was a poll the other day about "Your Favorite squadie in the whole ME series" and when I voted I voted for Samara as I wanted to show my support for her, but any way there was not even a single vote for Thane! Mordin, Legion, Wrex, Lira, Ash, Tali, Garrus,
Kaidan, and Miranda had the most votes in that poll. All of those characters had anywere from 20 to 40 some votes.

Grunt, Vega, Javik, and EDI had came in next in the middle of all having 10 to 19 votes.

And these characters fallowed, Jack, Samara, Jacob T. Zaeed, Kasumi, The results for them was I think Jacob had like 2 votes and Zaeed and Kasumi had 3. Jack 4. and my vote made Samara 5.

While the only ones with NO Votes were Thane and Morinth. Thane had 0 votes!

There had been a time when Polls like that Thane had just as many votes as Garrus if not more, that shows how many fans were upset with Thanes role in ME3.

Yeah I had to go back several pages as I had been MIA from the forums for awhile. I found it by going back to my lost posted Poll and than coming forward and found it a few pages after my last Poll.  So it had been up for  quite some time when I found it. But still I was only off the forums for like a 10 days. So it hadn't been sitting there for really long.

That's horrible, and a really bad representation of favourites. Was this a relatively new poll (after ME3 came out)? I really hope bioware doesn't look at polls like this and assume that no one liked thane.. :(

Edit: whoops I thought this didn't get posted so I typed it out again below haha

@Sunnie, I doubt they'd even care what we liked/disliked as long as it didn't revolve around the VS and Liara.

*grumbles* BitterShep is bitter.

That's horrible, There are plenty of people who would have voted for Thane, it doesn't make sense. It DOES make sense if this poll was made after ME3 came out, because Thane was not handled well at all (and I heard he isn't actually alive if you hadn't played ME2 and got him through the SM). If it was a poll back in the days of ME2, Thane would have been way up there :(

Edit: sorry about the double post! (well, double post with a few things added :P)

I think people are more about the ending right now. Maybe after that settles, if it ever does, we might get some more attention.

True, but I'm holding the line here and also on the indoctrination theory thread. It might take them a while to address the ME2 romances seeing as most fans are concerned with the endings, but if we can't let them forget about us!

We won't let them forget how they screwed up those ME2 romances.

Indeed, but I don't think this topic is unrelated to the endings either. A truly satisfying ending would include a heart warming moment with your LI. If I could show Thane a desert think I could finally be at peace. ;p
I think if anything, this is part of the "new endings" petition.

This <3

*sigh* so many ignorant people replying to this topic...i don't think they know how BAD the thane romance is in ME3.

don't we know any modders that could replace Liara's...whatyacallit...with Thane's?

Not unless they release modding tools, I don't think. I haven't looked into the modding in a long time, but from what I remember, it was limited to textures and hacking the ini file.
Which I can't do anymore because it's encrypted and might get you banned (because of MP), and I can't find the modding thread :(

Yeah that poll was posted sometime around the 12th of March. I had been MIA on here due to I was busy beating ME3. I've only completed the game once. When I got ME1 I had beat it several times over at this point same with ME2. ME3 I barely gagged my way to finishing the game once. doing it a 2nd time has been murder on me.

@gears...I almost spit out my dinner. LMAO "gagged my way to finishing"

That's okay though. I've started referring to it as "Miss Effect"

I think a petition is even better than a thread. Bioware can see the cold numbers quickly, without scrolling through a lot of text. And when the James Vega petition went up, a toooon more people signed it than were ever comfortable commenting on the forums. I think we just need to advertise some more to pick up the Thane fans (I'm trying to through fan content like pics/fics/etc) and then release a nice sign-in form. I'm not expecting anything soon, they have to let people finish the game and then worry about the endings. So I'm going to put my ME3 on the shelf, pull out the ME2, buy a Thane tee from their store, and go back to my happy place. <3

I somehow missed this thread but,  I support this

In ME2 when romanced, Thane had finally stopped defining himself with his own death and wished for a life with Shepard.
In ME3, his illness is the only thing one can speak to him about. That isn't good writing.
His death is logical when you did not romance him.

As someone who almost lost my mother to stroke ten years ago, and had to watch her come to terms with the scars left behind by the stroke, and finally see her accept that no, she was not defined by her illness.

I really did not need this game to be reminded of the time when I was helpless to aid my mother.
And to my Shepard it would have meant everything to have Thane by her side when she faces the Reapers.

Just like it mattered to those with Liara to have "blue babies", and building Tali a house on the homeworld, Thane's life mattered to me.

And I will not give up. Ever.
