I've been seeing multiple comments from these "Retake Mass Effect 3" folks saying that Mass Effect 3 had no closure at all yet they only focused on the last 15 minutes of the game,

Need I remind these people that the entire second half of the game was closure. Let me give you guys that reminder
  • Resolving the Quarian/Geth war, (if you talk to Tali afterwards you'll find full closure on that story arch)
  • Curing the Genophage (or leaving it unchecked, Talking to Wrex/Wreav on Earth afterwards ties up that story)
  • Destroying Cerberus
  • Setting closure to Jack's storyline as a military teacher finding the closest thing she has to a family.
  • Finally finishing off Miranda's storyline with her killing her father (if she survives depends on the player)
  • Finding resolve or annialation of the Racini Queen, be it legit or artificial
  • Thane's tragic end, and subsequent vengence
  • Jacob finally finding the peace to start a family.
  • Samara many possible endings with her daughters
Just a few I can think of off the top of my head, oh and then of course there's Shepard dying ... so that's the end of his story.

Honestly how can people say the game has no closure when the game is filled with it?

... all of which is invalidated by the obliteration of the galaxy in the last two minutes of the game.

Stop trying, just let people who need something to complain about have theirs.

Not to mention everyone who did survive is now stranded.

And if not invalidated, at least called into question.

Read the posts, some are trolling, but the good ones are easy to spot. Then come back

All of the above are not closure, since we don't see what happens to them after the technicolor explosion. They're simply dangling plot threads.

Basically, while there's *some* closure during the game, the ENDING has to provide closure and satisfaction too. It doesn't have to be happy to do it, but it DOES have to end on an 'up' note for everything and *everyone* you've been fighting for.

It doesn't.

Filled with closure that is irrelevant after the endings.

Weird, none of those things you listed are or are related to the ending.

^ This

The ending provides about 0% of closure.

The krogan and the quarians are particularly screwed.

You need to reassess what your definition of closure is.

So, you actually don't know what the word "closure" means then, eh? Thanks for posting.

You do not see the end result of any decisions you had made in the previous games and this game in total, only your final decision, which changes the entire state of galactic civilization (provided they don't all just die in the Mass Relay explosions).

I just finished the game ten minutes ago (control option), and while some of the things that were resolved along the course of this last game, were left shattered afterwards, I rather liked it that way and also liked the ending in general.
Life is frequently chaos and confusion - I don't need everything neatly wrapped up and all answers laid out in detail.

It's not about the destination but the journey!!

No really.

If closure means a giant gaping deus ex machina ripoff ending where everyone is cut off from each other and the entire victory fleet is starving to death ME3 wins the game of the century

The biggest 'no closure' error is we have no idea why the normandy was running and where they were. Whilst we know where they end up, not knowing why they did something so stupidly out of character is a form of not having closure.

Also a litany of other issues.

This.

I mean, I know that I cured the Genophage and all, but they seemed to indicate that without Wrex around to rally the Krogan and usher in a new way of thinking, many Krogan will want revenge.  But Wrex is stuck on Earth.  And a lot of Krogan are stuck on Palaven with the Turians that they hated for so long.
