Not everyone preorders the game. Those who make up the second wave of consumers often rely on word-of-mouth from their friends to help them decide whether to spend their money on a certain game.
I'd like to know how the fanbase has affected ME3's sales so far.
So, how many people have you convinced to buy ME3? I'm not asking how many people to whom you've expressed your opinion of the game. I'm talking about the actual number of people who bought (or didn't buy) ME3 based on your recommendation.

I tell people to buy them or play them because they are great games

Silly poll is silly, most people don't have the opportunity or care enough about anything to convince others to play anything.
My reccomendation is as it always has been:
If you've played 1 & 2 you're going to play 3 at some point regardless of what I say.
If you haven't there's no reason to start now.

I am the only person out of all my friends that actually plays games that aren't just Call of Duty.
I am the nerdest one of the group. I also watch Gilmore Girls.

I bought 3 copies.
If I had any friends into this type of game, at this point I'd tell them it's the best of the series from a gameplay perspective and super fun, just make sure to suicide by Marauder Shields until further notice.

I bought my copy, talked to friends who will or will not buy their copies, so maybe I created a sale or two. But I'd be a real @ss giving ME3 anything below a 3 out of 5 rating and a "hope they fall apart" written review on amazon and gamestop, so, guilt free in the department of possibly ruining the company, the dumb protesters can take that mantle

The convesation with a friend after that is worth watching, don't you think?

Had several buy it, along with myself, 3 copies, one to a less fortunate friend. Alas, they've all traded it as not one of them is happy with this curve ball. Ahh...yes, 4 of them went back and bought 1&2...you are welcome......I tried, you didn't help

Well, it's nice to know they still wanted to play 1&2.

Only myself and one friend pre-ordered. Our other friends were waiting to hear what we thought.
Well, I told them tonight I'm getting a full refund from Amazon. I'm sure that's going to effect a few sales.
(They'll probably pick it up used later on.)

That's good. How have they taken the ending?

Since i have no want to play it again i tried to take it back....no go with Future Shop. However i informed one friend about Amazon, where he got his. and has since taken it back. Two others i have convinced not to buy it and any other friends that ask i say "look it up, afterwards if you want you can borrow mine". No one has wanted to borrow it yet.
