Well she barely showed up in ME2 so no. At worst it evens out.

Garrus and Tali spend the most time as your crew followed by Liara.

The ME2 characters had too little. Morinth got a raw deal lol

I have a similar feeling that Liara was dumped on the player on every chance to make her the default LI.

I think it's mainly because she's the only original character on the Normandy that couldn't die in the previous games.

Liara is everything I want in an alien love interest.

Yeah, it's strange playing without her as your love interest, she's the one that works best from game one. I mean, having another LI makes her look creepy, she seems obsessed with Shepard more than even your love interest. But I still love her, my "main" paragon Shepard chose her and it works perfectly story-wise. And, she's the one with the best evolution as a character and Shepard's closest friend (even if you treat her like crap in ME1, which makes it even more creepy).

I definitely felt Liara was being shoved on me, especially when I wanted more of my own LI instead. No biggie.

I won't deny that i felt really hurt when i started a playtrough with my first shep who has ashley as LI, in a second playtrough i had liara as my LI and it was great, so when i played my first shepard i tried almost everything to ditch ashley and get Liara, but some part of me forced me to keep ashley as my LI to the end, that's why i felt bad about all those dialogs with Liara and my inability to get her as my LI. So that's why i ditch my first shepard after finishing ME3, and now i don't mind all those dialogs focus on Liara, i enjoy them so much that she's the first squad member that i bring to my team in every mission.

Liara has the most plot armor of any squadmate character. She cannot die.

Garrus? He can die. He can also be left out in ME1. Ash/Kaiden can die. Anyone in ME2 can die. Liara? She can't. And even in ME3, if she should die, she'll just appear back on the Normandy and, well, not die. Basically, because of her absolute inclusion, she gets the most screen time because it's assured the player will see it. In any given playthrough, you may not have Garrus, Tali, Ash or Kaiden in the game at all, and unlike EDI, Javik and Vega, you have a much longer and more involved history with Liara.

Anyway, I can see why too much Liara would be annoying. I disliked her a lot in ME1 (she got much better, and I loved her in ME3). But the fact that she has to be there throughout the game is why she gets so much screen time. That and her involvement with asari and protheans, both of whom are essential to the events that lead up to the game's conclusion.

If you think about it Liara was always Shepards trusty companion. Without her Shepard would not even be alive. She has always been set up to be a large character, even though she wasn't a permanent squad member in the second one. She always had a strong relationship with Shepard, even if she wasn't a love interest.

I actually enjoyed Liara in ME because of how sweet she was in the game (yeah, I know). Her evolution was probably the best of any character, though.

I really like her and it's good she got much screentime, BUT then every important character should have so much time: Garrus, Tali (maybe their relationship), Joker (and his father and sister) and most important: Ash! Her screentime in the beginning was awesome, the visits in the hospital, then after the Cerberus assault on the Citadel came nothing interesting anymore. The relationship between Shep and Ashley could have get more scenes where their relationship is progressing. Well after all, the romance theme is named after Ashley's words "I was lost without you"

I liked pretty much all of her scenes - the time capsule one probably being my favorite one in the entire game. That was just...touching and sad at the same time.

I didn't really think there was too much of her. Just not enough of others in comparison.

In ME2 we didn't get much of her. No wonder she got more focus in ME3.

I like the Liara character but as i said elsewhere it really felt like they tried to force everyone to have her as a LI in ME3 even if they already had one.

No. But she is included so much because she is the only one who is a guaranteed sqaudmate and has been around since ME1. Would you rather have Vega or EDI be the centralized ones?

This basically.
I liked the way Liara was handled in ME3 btw. Too little of her in ME2(still worked though) and they compensated for that in ME3. Plus she feels like a real friend, no matter if romanced or not and had a great character development.

That's understandable. You're not going to fall in love with every character.

In my case, that's what happened with Liara as soon as I began to interact with her on Mass Effect. I immediately knew that I had found my video game love. <3

I noticed that Liara had a lot of content, but I didn't mind. In fact, I liked her even more in ME3 than the first two games. Her final goodbye touched me the most, and I wasn't even in a romance with her.

If I ever start a new Shepard I just might do a Liara romance. Hmm...

Though I suppose it's a fair point, not everyone can be expected to like a certain character.

I don't dislike Liara as a character. I dislike her being shoved in my face all the time by BW...
