I like Liara, both as a friend in some playthroughs, and an LI in others.

She, along with Garrus, are the most loyal to Shep. And I appreciate it.

All we need is an option to kill Liara off earlier, and it'd be fine.

Absolutely.

Four, count 'em, four forced missions: Mars, Eden Prime, Palaven, Thessia. Mars was acceptable, the rest were not. Of course, Mac had to have his fun with his blue pet.

I want to like Liara, but that degree of forced just kills it for me.

Agreed, I hated how Liara was made the only squadmate in the ME series who cant be killed off no matter what happens. If I could have I would have her die Virmire, its not like shes the only person from the team who would have gotten Shepard's body from the Shadow Broker, I could see Garrus doing it.

I never really cared enough about Liara to dislike her - for me she was just there. But the way she was written and handled in ME3 is just annoying. As a player I'm not attached to this character in any way, yet it feels like I'm romancing her no matter if I actually do or not.

I would be somewhat ok with her constant presence if there was the option to keep the relationship with her on a more professional level. But these overdone second-class romance novel conversations are just too much. Even as a LI her dialogue feels like it was taken right out of The Bold and the Beautiful.

The method to how they made Liara so important irked me and made me resent her character. I can't look at Liara and actually appreciate her anymore. If I were to play my Shepard (the only one that has her as an LI), I'd just be going through the motions and I have no interest in doing that. It's a sure sign that favoritism can injure the perception of another.

In ME1, I didn't care about her.
In LOTSB, she creeped me out (keeping my armor in a display case, even though I barely talked to her outside of briefings).
In ME3, I hated her.

It only seems this way because everyone else got so little screen time it's ridiculous.

But you know, you're gonna get fanboi/girl-ism on both sides, just look at the ava/sigs.

Pro Liara's are decked in Liara avatars and sigs, and anti's are mainly Tali/Garrus fans. Unsuprising, really. :3

I don't know, I feel bad because those people who love Liara got shafted in ME2. However, they did get a rocking DLC pack.

What irks me is that she gets more awesome LI time than everyone else pretty much and I would much rather have more Tali, Thane, Jacob, etc. moments than reduce Liara's time. That way everyone wins.

In a nutshell, it's not too much Liara, it's too little everyone else.

I found the lack of Miranda screen time incredibly distressing.

I did too, my Shep that romanced her didn't get much, but really, most ME2 romances were seriously shafted.

I like Liara, and well all Asari for obvious reasons, but I was getting pissed with them bombarding me with Liara, especially in the ending. I kind of wanted to tell her, "****, you do realize that I'm with Tali still right? Stop stalking me"

Honestly, i romanced liara and even i got annoyed by how much she was showing up. Or rather, how much of the normal crew interaction she was consuming. It felt like it anyways. So yeah i'll go with other folks on too little of everyone else.

I'm more inclined to say there was not enough of the other chars, but yeah, I see your point. I like Liara as much as the next guy, but there could definitely have been more of Miranda, Mordin, Wrex, Grunt, Tali, Thane and Garrus. I feel like Liara was kind of forced down our throats.

Lul what? The only two character who are squadmates in all 3 games? Garrus who has the largest amount of dialogues right after Liara and Tali who practically has the entire second arc dedicated to her need more content???

Weekes actually sent a book he was given my a fan to the ME2 character writers in Edmonton. They then took a group photo with the book.

They know and care.

Weekes has gone to extraordinary lengths to tell us that he loved the book.

I like her, but yeah, too many personal moments when you are not interested in a close relationship with her.

Yeah, they should have shown a picture full of steaks. Cause, you know, Shepard ****ing loves steak:D
