Too little other "love interests", I guess. But no, I don't think there was too much Liara.

Change the title of the thread to "not enough Liara" and we can get a dialogue going...

I do hate how her dialogue takes priority, though, during random missions and such. And, if I recall, the only mission she forces herself on is Thessia.

Also Eden Prime, I think. At least I don't recall choosing her for Eden Prime. If I'd had a choice, I would have brought Garrus.

There was too much Liara considering I only got to see my ACTUAL LI only 3 times in the whole game. I like Liara, but I'd really rather she not AUTOMATICALLY get disproportionate amounts of screentime. She can be as essential the plot as Bioware wants, but they should have still given the other characters more attention.

Not enough of her, but also she was the only person out of your entire crew that gave a damn when you died. Love interest or not.

i actually felt like there wasn't enough tali, considering you already get her late. i romanced liara in 1 and tali in 2 and stuck with tali for 3 but felt like i would have got much more dialogue if i went back to liara....but come on tali is awesome.

Admittedly, Liara did have a lot of face time in ME3 (probably because her lack of it in ME2), but I would honestly preferred if ALL of the major characters had that kind of development time, not just Liara and Garrus.

PS I am not hating on either character, as ME3's role for Garrus made him one of my favorite characters of the series, where he didn't even breach the top 3 of before the final game. I am just a fan of equal representation of all the characters and their back stories (with a little more given to your LI maybe :) ), but as the case is, they did well with the face time they gave those two characters in particular.

Really the only thing that caught me off guard in regards to Liara is the very last scene where she gives her that "gift" thingy. I had Ashley as my LI and I found that last conversation with Liara kind of awkward really.

She wasn't my LI, and I did sort of feel like she was constantly on my d**k. But, she's a good character, so I didn't mind. I could have done with more Ashley though. Her dialogue on the Normandy was a joke.

LIARA, WHY YOU NO DIE!?

Because she's the writer's pet.

Nope because she wasn't around in ME2 and was unkillable in ME1 just like Garrus and Tali.

Try again.

Yes, it totally wasn't creepy when she hunted down my body and gave it to Cerberus.

well considering if you do a barebones run of ME2 and Tali and Garrus die and you kill Kaidan/Ashley or do not let them back on it leaves you with EDI Vega and Liara....out of those three I think Liara deserves the most focus/ is the most important

This annoys me greatly as well.

LIARA, WHY YOU NO DIE!?

I would rather watch Garrus and Mordin die a thousand times than watch Liara get so much as a knee scrape

This!

But to take off my blue-tinted glasses for a moment I can sympathise a little. It really was VERY heavily pushed in ME3 so people who had other LIs must have felt a little isolated.

Considering the fact that was she DID have no plot armor in the original leaked script and was capable of being killed off in a Virmire 2.0, I am inclined to agree it's because she is Walter's favourite.

Garrus! James! How do we open this ancient prothean pod?!

Garrus: Two words, Shepard. Big. Rock.

Good input, Garrus! James, thoughts?

Vega: I like dinosaurs, Sir.

Now we're gett'n somewhere! Garrus, look for a rock. James, carry on.

...Maybe it's wise to bring a doctor and prothean expert to Eden Prime.

I can sort of understand what you are getting at. She does heavily feature in the plot throughout the series. On the other hand Garrus is the squad mate who is available for the majority of the series. You get him early in all three game and I don't hear you complaining about that Golden Owl  ;)

I thought Liara was well done, didn't really like her in ME1 but ME3 she was very well written.

Prothean expert, Shadow Broker, loses her home planet... I wouldn't say she's over-included.

They could have easily given her a death scenario in ME3; they chose not to. So my point still stands.

I disagree. Liara played one of the largest roles in Shepards story. She saved him from the original Shadow Broker.
She had a more influential role than any other character whether she was a love interest or not.

Just as Garrus was more or less forced into Shepards best friend situation. However I myself found him to be my most used squadmate, all through ME1, ME2, and finally ME3. Garrus was on the very large majority of the missions.
