I totally agree that Liara did dominate in ME3 and did choke some of the other characters in the process.

but the reason they did it is because she is the only character that has been in from the start, can be romanced by both genders and cannot die.

so naturally Liara did get the vast majority of dialogue.

It really bothers me, that my shepard rembered her in his last moments instead of his LI...

What I gather from the flashbacks is that Shepard had no life or friends previous to stepping on the Normandy, and Liara imprinted herself on your mind.

I do hate how her dialogue takes priority, though, during random missions and such. And, if I recall, the only mission she forces herself on is Thessia.

Also Eden Prime, I think. At least I don't recall choosing her for Eden Prime. If I'd had a choice, I would have brought Garrus.

Garrus! James! How do we open this ancient prothean pod?!

Garrus: Two words, Shepard. Big. Rock.

Good input, Garrus! James, thoughts?

Vega: I like dinosaurs, Sir.

Now we're gett'n somewhere! Garrus, look for a rock. James, carry on.

...Maybe it's wise to bring a doctor and prothean expert to Eden Prime.

Considering the factor that Shepard did all the work on that mission anyway, I fail to see the point.

Aside from the ending and MP enforcement to get the EMS up, I feel ME3 is a beautiful game...epic... But if there is one thing that really bugs me throughout the game itself, it's the over inclusion of Liara, I just felt dogged by her...she has the lions share of dialogs, lions share of enforced missions, lions share of essentiality, lions share of screen and Normandy time...I just felt she was on Sheps heels way too much with inclusion and cut scenes....Does anyone else feel this way?

No...can't say that I did.

never too much liara imo

i just wish the other characters had been treated similarly

characters are bioware's strong suit, and unfortunately, a lot of them weren't done justice

Liara, Joker and EDI are the only ones on the ship that matter in terms of plot. Doesn't mean I don't like the other characters, but you COULD throw tali, garrus, ashley, and james out the airlock and it wouldn't really matter plotwise.

Because Shepard was all "Well open it!" And Liara was all "Okay, if you want to kill him. Idiot. Look for some techno-bull**** right now!"

And off they went on a magical adventure.

LIARA, WHY YOU NO DIE!?

Because she's the writer's pet.

Nope because she wasn't around in ME2 and was unkillable in ME1 just like Garrus and Tali.

Try again.

They could have easily given her a death scenario in ME3; they chose not to. So my point still stands.

None of your squad had a death scenario in ME3. Liara is treated no different than Garrus and Tali in ME1, the VS and Wrex in ME2 and the entire squad in ME3. Adding a death scene just  because she scraped by without one thus far is just stupid, especially considering how important she is to the plot. What would be the point? Just so you can say "Hahaha, this is for not dying earlier!"?

I thought all the ME3 characters got decent airtime. Now some of the ME2 characters...

Poor Jacob fans, poor Morinth fans.

She wasn't even a squadmate in ME2 unless you bought the DLC (which I happily did, but it doesn't count). She's just catching up on the extra sceentime Tali and Garrus got in ME2. She is also important because of her connection to Shepard's history with Cerberus, her job as the Shadow Broker, and her position as a prothean expert.

There also cannot ever be enough Liara (or enough ANY love interest) until we've had a satisfying conclusion to the romance.

I did think there was a lot of Liara but she's always been one of my favourite characters so I didn't mind. I think it made sense though, generally she was in for important reasons.

She was my LI so I just figured she had more screen time because of that.

Being that she's the only squadmate aside from Vega who's assured to be there the entire game, it does make sense that she's included in the most around the ship.

I have the Ashes DLC...I can understand her enforced for the Thessia Mission and Eden Prime....but just as note, if you have the Ashes DLC and have picked up the Prothean, Liara is still flagged as essential on Palaven's moon...Palaven's Moon makes no sense.

Uhhh actually I wanted more Liara... we were together and she was so busy working as Shadow Broker that she barely talked to me enough...

Funny how perspectives are different, uh?

I think... EDI has presented A LOT in ME3 but I like EDI so it's fine by me :)
Yep, there are not enough Garrus and *Kaidan*.

This NEVER made any sense to me, out of ALL the people we had, in ME2 she was too busy FINDING the SB to join us, but now that she IS the SB, she can join us.

W. T. F.

Because we already had an Asari on the team in the form of Samara. Besides maybe Liara had a problem working for Cerebrus even though she helped them find Sheps body.

Tali and VS can both die in ME3 if you're playing as FailShep. So your statement is incorrect.

No such thing as too much Liara.

AngryKrogan777 wrote...

No. But she is included so much because she is the only one who is a guaranteed sqaudmate and has been around since ME1. Would you rather have Vega or EDI be the centralized ones?

This, very much. Bioware could only devote so much time to characters who aren't present in every playthrough. As difficult as it is for fans of Garrus, Tali, Kaidan and Ashley, the developers had to take all possible playthroughs into account. It sucks but that's the only way it could be.

I love Liara, she's my second favorite, but yeah, there was a littttllle too much of her.

On the first mission to Mars, Liara has a prominent role (apparently this didn't interrupt her shadow broker duties?)
She's there at the citadel explaining the crucible to the council
She's there after Shep's dream to talk to her
She talks to you in the shadow broker's office
She asks to come up to Shep's room to talk about her information box thing
She gives you the ardat yakshi mission and has a lot of dialogue for that mission
She has more conversations with you in her office
She consoles you after your second dream
She has to go along with you to Thessia and is always the one to save Shep from falling
She has a consoling scene in which every member of your crew reminds you to go see her despite the fact that Garrus, Shep, Vega, and VS have gone through the same thing
She has the best romance scene with the most content and the only love interest that is fully nude
She also is placed as the default flashback if you romanced anyone besides the VS
She is the only squadmate from ME1 and ME2 that cannot really die

Seriously, that's a bit of Liara overload. How about sharing some of that love with all the other squadmates and ME2 love interests.
