But they could have as easily had Traynor walk in on Shep after his nightmare's instead of Liara...which would in fact make much more sense if your never romanced Liara...I still find it kind of odd that she just walks into his cabin willy nilly....Traynor could be at his door with important info.byne wrote...
Since Liara is my favorite LI by far (but only with FemShep, for some reason MaleShep/Liara seems off to me), my instinctive response is "There is no such thing as too much Liara!"
My more rational response is to point out she's the only party member guaranteed to survive ME1 and ME2, so they kind of had to give most of the important stuff to her.
Too Much Liara?

Yeah... I agree. I would leave my wife for her. My wife understands being bisexual and all, and well.... Asari. It's like having sex while doing salvia... Or better thanMaria Caliban wrote...

Yup, she was kinda the new XO .
you would think with Ashley being a Lt Commander, and a Spectre, she would be 2nd in command
She only moved into the XO room so she could privately work on her SB operations. I don't remember giving out any order to anyone. She only took over the XO's quarters not duties.

My hubby was a Skin Head in the day, his reasoning, he wanted to examine the extremes of societal influence and psychological structure and is himself in the extreme spectrum of intelligence....I find quite a number of highly intelligent people tend to play in the fringes in their younger days.LucidStrike wrote...
I'm a 21 year old gynesexual cis-gendered male, and I was not drawn to the blue skin. There's more to it than appearances and "exoticness". I liked Liara as a friend, but she doesn't seem like someone I would date. I'm more into Jack's type (riot grrls, though the one I know are as intellectual as anyone), and I only got to see Jack 3 times in almost 30 hours. Not fair.Golden Owl wrote...

I felt that Liara was being pushed on us too much as well; but then again, BioWare has been doing that since ME1. This is the reason I don't take her on any missions that I don't *have* to.

Please elaborate. How is Liara "pushed" on you? Sure she has some missions where she required to acompany you, but everyone does. You're not forced to buy or play LotSB and youre not forced to talk to her outside of required-mission dialogue. Sometimes you have to interact with plot specific characters, that doesn't mean they're being "pushed" on you.

So, obviously she gets all the tasks needed to advance the plot when Shepard can't (e.g. they couldn't really have made an Ash!Redemption and Kaidan!Redemption comic...); at the end of the day, would you really want another random new NPC be Shep's second-in-command like Miranda?

Why would Liara and a Shep who was a real b*stard to her hug when meeting again in ME2 and the 'love in dialog of both ME2 and ME3?....As for the mission numbers, Liara gets three (with Ashes DLC), all the others get one.Rogue Unit wrote...

Oh, god no. Out of dozens of mission, I'm required to bring Liara twice? This is an outrage!

Aside from the ending and MP enforcement to get the EMS up, I feel ME3 is a beautiful game...epic... But if there is one thing that really bugs me throughout the game itself, it's the over inclusion of Liara, I just felt dogged by her...she has the lions share of dialogs, lions share of enforced missions, lions share of essentiality, lions share of screen and Normandy time...I just felt she was on Sheps heels way too much with inclusion and cut scenes....Does anyone else feel this way?
100% Agreed. It was kinda like Ashley in my first playthrough of ME1. I'd wanted that Shepard to romance Miranda, but I was nice to Ashley one too many times, and Shep got raped. He didn't think that's what happened, but that's what happened.
Liara really only needed to involve herself for the Mars, Thessia and maybe Ardat-Yakshi Monestary missions, and maybe for the time capsule thing. Even that felt almost awkwardly romance-y.
edit: Ah, yes, the Ashes DLC as well, she really did need to be there for that one.
