Then again Bioware hasn't been faithful either. There have been other gamers. Lots of other gamers. But then again there have been other games, so let's call it quits on that score.
The point is the one element I've most enjoyed in Bioware games is the story. A perfect game would have a solid plot, good characters and a believable and identifiable PC. At least three Bioware games have delivered those elements. The rest have generally come pretty close.
DAO really stands out because I was able to immerse myself in the game. It had multiple origin stories. I played them all. It had an insane level of depth and detail. I read every item description.
I'm not demanding anything. I'm not threatening anything. I really don't know if anyone else feels the same way. Regardless of what DA3 is like, the odds are pretty good I'll buy it.
What I am offering is a bribe. Knock my socks off and I'll make and send two dozen cookies of your choice. People seem to like my chocolate chip cookies, but I think my almond macaroons are my best (but they may not ship well). My Dad likes my bourbon balls. I also make lemon tartlets, oatmeal raisin and cardamon cookies. Really it's your choice. The ingredients are simple, fresh and totally legal in all of North America.
Just FYI.

Cookies? Who the hell uses cookies for a bribe? All the cool kids bring beer. Bavarian beer.
Beer's too watery. Get me the pure ethanol and now we're talking.

I'm a Bioware addict and while I have to admit i never played jade empire, and I did have a 2 weeks affaire with bethesda over Christmas lets be honest here for momement- I'll probably buy DA3 regardless because really where am I going to go? No other game company will even attempt to give me what i want.
So if you are ever in Scandinavia, Bioware DA developers, I promise to drop by with cookies or cake if you heed mousestalker

You're my kind of cookie!
Even if its fiction it has to add up. DAO added up; well thought through plot and as you say an insane level of depth. Even the side quests had their background and you could decide to do them or not based on your own morals. In DA2 you find stuff and bring it to someone and get paid. The item is anonymous in a way and you don't have a clue what the concequence will be if you bring it. Little things like that.
I'll make a contrabution when you go buy everything if BW takes up your offer.

I have taken cookies as a bribe before, I have also used my wife's gooey butter cake to bribe other people.

The point here is to encourage the workers of Bioware to excel, not distract them with either imagined prurience or genuine disgust.

Make a good game and we'll support it.

You see its when people say stuff like that that the odds of the game being any good fall from slim to zero. Buy a franchise and betray the fans is the order of the day right now. If you actually come right out and tell them that you'll buy whatever they drop in front of you, what reason do they have left to even try?

Perhaps they'll try because they appreciate their fans, and want to tell a good story. I would think that seeing the enthusiasm of fans provides all sorts of motivation.JosephCurwen wrote...

Add baked goods on top of that, and they'll have a spring in their step when they go to the office.

Once upon a time I'm sure that was true.
