Which origin/class to play first?
Typically, I'd go human warrior at first to get my feet wet with the game mechanics. But this game feels special somehow. Maybe I should go mage? An elf for the first run through?
I've ruled out rogue for my first character. I'm thinking it might be a little too tricky at first.
Yes, there's been other threads about this, but in 16 or so hours I'll need to decide. What characters will you play first? Why?
Which should I play?
I still can't decide

Sorry, this probably should have gone in general discussion. Forums are so slow tonight that I screwed up.

its cool...I couldn't decide either man...I made about 10 characters on the CC and got it down to 6 that I know I some day want to play and out of those 6 at least 3 of them I was stuck on for my first play through....But I have decided that I am going to play as a city elf rogue first and although at times I still feel like I will play my dwarf commoner warrior first, the rogue seems like more my style ......I guess we will see what mood I am in tomorrow when I pick up the game

They all sound really good, it will be hard for everyone to decide. I myself have to decide between a Human Warrior or a something Rogue. However, I'm not sure how difficult a Rogue will be to use in combat.

I'm playing on a 360. The GiantBomb video suggested the rogue was more difficult to play, as did the guys playing the international challenge event.
My guess is that in both cases the players weren't being very careful or thorough.
Any other suggestions?

It's been a constant battle in my mind to either start as a rogue or mage. I had initially thought I was going to start as a warrior but I realized that's what I do in all games and I want to do something different. Another thing I always do is play a male human character so I had decided to do my first playthrough as a dwarf.
As the release date neared the mage seemed more interesting so I created a human mage in the CC then a dwarf rogue. I then created a rogue female elf and thought I might want to start as her. I've finally convinced myself to go with the rogue dwarf but I may change my mind at the last second, lol.
Honestly the mage seems the easiest to start with because you can pretty much customize it anyway with its spells. Want to be a total bad ass? You can do that. Want to be a pure helper to your comrades? You can do that. Want to mix both from best worlds? You can do that too!

I know that regardless of what I play on my first play through I am going to play a mage on the second (mainly because I know for sure that I will not be playing one the first time through.....if the rogue is hard to play as then I am pretty sure it is the first thing I will play as....why go for the easy path when you can go down the hard path

Rogues would be more difficult to play simply because a good portion of their damage requires maneuvering to be behind the enemy as much as possible.

I feel the same way.
I have no idea whether I'll load up my Dwarven warrior or rogue first.
At least I'm pretty sure about the origin though.

I personally prefer rogues. There is a right way and a wrong way to use a low-level rogue.
Wrong way: YARRR! ROGUE SMASH AND GO FOR THE EYES!
Right way: Rogue hides, sneaks around behind the poor victim, and quickly removes his/her kidneys and spine
Leave the going for the eyes to Boo and Minsc, and your rogue will get along just fine in the early game.

I'm going to go for a mage, probably elf, but that is because I'm a mage by heart and thus will take that class everytime if I can

At first, I was going to be a noble human two-handed warrior. But now that I've seen the Danish Elf origin I'm so taking it as my first origin. I'm be a Danish Elf warrior that duel weilds. It seems a pretty balance skill class between disabling, damage, and crowd control. I'm picking Warrior class over rogue so I can get the Champion specialization. I'll stick with one specialization since talents are going to be too few to max two specials on top of my warrior and duel wield talents.

I was going for Dalish Elf Rogue, but then I decided that I need to go Human on my first playthrough, like I do in most games. So I am going with Human Noble warrior
