Prehaps when they had the script leak they couldn't think of any ideas so they decided to look at fan feedback for some inspiration only someone mistakenly read wouldn't as would and they just went with it j/k

Conspiracy theory: The person that wrote that was one of the writers that didn't have the power to stop such an ending and they were trying to warn us, so we could tell Bioware what a bad idea it was before it was too late.
