Starfang is.
If you don't have the DLC then either Ageless or Yusaris

Stens lost sword is way of the scale of best swords. Starfange is indeed the best but you need warden's keep dlc for it if i'm correct.

Summersword is on Ser Cauthrien...shes hard to beat if you cant the first time you get to fight her again later. I cant remember the stats so I cant say if its better than starfang. Not a fan of 2 handers.

Is Yusaris really better than Sten's sword? That +12 Attack is pretty good, although you can't put as many runes on SS.

It's tier 3 steel, which is rather unfortunate, and can't be upgraded.

not even tier 6 it not a good sword theres a few more better

I realise that it's only Steel and has only one rune-slot. But I keep on looking at that +12 Attack...

But I keep on looking at that +12 Attack...
Pretty much the only saving grace that allows Sten to wield it throughout the whole game.

Stens Sword is plain terrible. If the +12 attack is really making more difference than a proper Tier7 2-hander somethings wrong. He's using it... for now, but then again i'm using 3x 2 Handed Warriors on this playthrough...

A few damage points difference is not a big deal. Sten's sword would be the best if you can wield it. Otherwise, Starfang > Ageless > Summersword = Yusaris

It actually works too - at least on normal, my wife played a party of 4 warriors, thats 3 2handers and a sword/board (Alistair) on her queen playthrough. As usual, whenever she plays the game, people get massacred if played right. All 4 are berserkers too, was funny to watch them all go berserk at the same time.
The only problem for her was making sure they chose seperate targets each, due to serious overkills when her character, Sten, and Oghren all did Sunder Armor at the same time at one enemy. 500-600 damage at once all wasted on a critter heh.

Would be nice, but in two playthroughs I've never seen that Meteor (Yes I have WK). Plenty of the bloody grim-tea merchant though - I think I'm up to 6 encounters with him this playthrough.

+12attack is a lot. 1 rune slot isn't too bad.
Low tier...w/e, basic damge for 2h is not that big a deal for 2h anyways. But it should have unique material of its own: bluesteel.

Ironically, a vanilla Dragonbone Greatsword is the best 2H sword you can get if you can't get Starfang.
The only Sword that comes close to a tier 7 2H is Yusaris and only against dragons. The attack bonus is nice for Asala, but towards the last 1/3 of the game just grab a dragonbone 2-hander or one of the unique greataxes.

Chasind Great Maul is on par if not better than Starfang. (If you don't mind a maul, I loved mine.)
14.4 damage
14 (yes 14, not a typo) armor penertration
1.25 str modifier
+ 5damage
+ 75sta
+ 2.5 armor penetration
0.5 stamina regen in combat
3 rune slots

Its working on Hard with Morrigan as Heal/Support. Respecced her to Spirit Healer immediately, just got her Telekinetic Weapons so my Armour Penetration has just got up by 7 (to 17 on my main with Starfang). Sten is using his sword and Oghren is using some random Maul, i need to finish Haven and Circle for some more decent weapons (and the Superior DragonPlate Armour).
Redcliffe was... an absolute joke this time. The first fight was its usual tediousness, the second fight, my 3 Massive Armoured Warriors weren't exactly taking much damage so Morrigan was mostly left to heal the Militia. By the end of the fight i think only 1 unnamed Militiaman died, the undead had no chance.
On a side note, attacking multi-hitting Revenants with 3 Warriors is EXTREMELY painful...
