 Yeah, in retrospect, that sounds pretty dumb, but it was on sale through Origin. I downloaded the DLC without issues, but now trying to install it, it says that it can't determine my version of ME.

Any fixes or should I just buy it through Steam?

I did the same thing but it installed correctly even though my ME1 is on Steam. Is your ME1 updated correctly ? (version 1.02)
You can check your version by using the MassEffectConfig.exe situated somewhere that should look like this : C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\mass effect\\Binaries

Okay, I figured it out and I'm an even bigger airhead than I previously thought. I've got it modded with text mod and changed the .exe name.

I also bought ME 1 on Steam and I can´t put the dlc in my shopping cart on Origin. It says i need to bei Mass Effect in order to buy this addon. How did you buy the dlc on Oigin?
