There are a couple of cheats in game that I want to take advantage of, but I'am paranoid about them since my days in WoW when Blizzard would come along and fix such "advantages". What I want to know is if Bioware sends a patch to fix such a cheat, among other things, would accepting that patch be optional or mandoatory?

its a single player game. Have at it. You are only cheating against yourself.

Personally, I would say if they patch a glitch, or 'cheat' it would not be optional. However it is single player so...

Honestly why do you need the 'cheat' to play the game?

Just for the fun of it. I want to experience buying every good weapon and book in the game atleast once. Running around with more than chump change would be a nice change of pace.

Heard SWG was rather on the poor-side, I never played it though. If you don't mind being greedy, you can leave lothering with 20 gold, My city-elf rogue did. (Ask for rewards for everything, that stuff.)

SWG?

All I seem to remember of that game was rampaging creature handlers.

Well thing of it was that the game used to be moderately good. The idea of space ships was why this was my first mmo and not wow, big mistake...

The game developers got the idea that they wanted to make the game more "WoW" like so they overhualed the games turnbased combat (like whats in WoW) and made it all manuel aim and click. Not too mention they cut out most of the ingame classess in favor of 8 archetypes and made Jedi's a class when before it was an award to veteran players who had played for a while.

Suffice to say it was a disaster, even the game developers couldnt have forseen the sheer hatred to be directed at this patch years later. It had ruined me ingame because it had killed off my side business, destroyed all my weapons and drove off my entire guild.

Next thing you know I'm packing it off to WoW for the next 4 years and here I am today, former WoW junkie and in College no less!

How the hell, having a cheat will be wrong ?
So moddrs can go to hell because they're making cheats ?
That sound so wrong and that has nothing to do with mmorpgs >.>

Batck t the topic : I fear also that patch will disable some mods, but as I know the available patch are not necessary since it's solve some problems about the social bioware network mostly.

I never have considered a mod that adds or changes the appearance of something to be a 'cheat'

Now a mod that makes all enemies 1-hit-kill or drop forty gold every time they are killed? that's a cheat-mod to me ;D

i dont have any of the patches in my game, it being a single player game they cant really "force" you to take a patch.
then again i play on my xbox, wich isnt hooked into the internet at the moment. so that is probably why i havnt been patched yet lol. but i wasnt aware of any glitches that really posed a great advantage to the players. the only glitches ive seen are people not talking during conversations, but their mouths moving, and then i have no idea how to respond, and during a conversation, the voice coming out of the wrong persons mouth(this only happened i think two or three times, but it was still pretty annoying lol)

(warning may contain spoilers)

And I really hate that glitch that happens during converastions too.

to the op you are not required to download any patch. However, if say you downloaded DLC latter on and it did not work as intended because you did not have a patch installed then that is on you not bioware.

You can clear your cache an then play the game offline with no DLC for awhile. then later on get the update via going online download your DLC again ect. If I start a new game of Fallout 3 that's what I'm going to do by using the level up trick in Big Town.
