The real problem is the implication that there is such a thing as an "optimal ending", or that it matters.
That's how I felt. None of my Shepards would ever see the EMS 4000 ending even with infinite EMS -- all of them so far have found the "red" choice to be grossly immoral and wouldn't touch it
Destroy is the right ending and only idiots pick control or synthesis which are obviously traps.
I have no interest in picking the control ending because it just doesn't seem right to me. The main reasson I picked synthesis over destroy was because the catylyst makes it seem like picking destroy would destroy EDI and all the Geth and I now acknowledge that EDI and the Geth are 'alive' since they are self aware. Of course, after I picked my ending I started getting reports that EDI still survives even if you pick 'Destroy' which means that Bioware did not properly explain the endings in the first place.
Moving on, I've aslready made a post in this thread about my issues with Jarrett Lee's 'sticky' thread and how misleading it is however I don't think there is any harm in repeating myself. Idid almost everything on my first playthrough and I only got something like 3400 EMS by the Time I made the assault on TIM's base. That's well short of the 'optimal' 4000 EMs ending and not even close to the one that needs 5000 EMS. Bioware lied to us, we should be able to get all the endings through Single Player only.
