The real problem is the implication that there is such a thing as an "optimal ending", or that it matters.

That's how I felt. None of my Shepards would ever see the EMS 4000 ending even with infinite EMS -- all of them so far have found the "red" choice to be grossly immoral and wouldn't touch it

Destroy is the right ending and only idiots pick control or synthesis which are obviously traps.

I have no interest in picking the control ending because it just doesn't seem right to me. The main reasson I picked synthesis over destroy was because the catylyst makes it seem like picking destroy would destroy EDI and all the Geth and I now acknowledge that EDI and the Geth are 'alive' since they are self aware. Of course, after I picked my ending I started getting reports that EDI still survives even if you pick 'Destroy' which means that Bioware did not properly explain the endings in the first place.

Moving on, I've aslready made a post in this thread about my issues with Jarrett Lee's 'sticky' thread and how misleading it is however I don't think there is any harm in repeating myself. Idid almost everything on my first playthrough and I only got something like 3400 EMS by the Time I made the assault on TIM's base. That's well short of the 'optimal' 4000 EMs ending and not even close to the one that needs 5000 EMS. Bioware lied to us, we should be able to get all the endings through Single Player only.

My experience is that she does not survive. I haven't seen a clip of the Destroy ending where she does. However, which companions show up in the cutscene varies, so I could very well be wrong.

I interpreted the choices the same way you did -- the 4000 EMS is academic for me since none of my Sheps would pick it even if they had the EMS. Which they don't.

That's well short of the 'optimal' 4000 EMs ending and not even close to the one that needs 5000 EMS.

Aren't those the same ending, just with different EMS thresholds due to choices

I´d really like to have this adressed. Haven´t played the Paragon/Renegade endings yet, but from what I hear, it really is a missinformation...

It's definately misinformation - I finished the game with 3607 EMS using an ME2 import that had an ME1 import. I have the players guide so I know I did everything and got everything.
Probably missed missed about 25 EMS points by have Chakwas and the VS on the Normandy rather than as assets, and lost a few more with a couple of the decisions I made, but there are enough to get me over 4000 EMS that's for sure.

I doubt it would have made much of a difference.

Whether it's true, false, ambiguous or misinforming, it is bad PR to let that post stickied up there.

Misleading post is still stickied I see. Bioware, the longer it stays there the more it seems that you have deliberately lied to us rather than just made a mistake or that the issue is down to bugs.

Sad indeed, Trish. I even called Gamble out on his comment on Twitter. Still no response from him.

Definitely. And while "the best" is subjective, it's hard to believe that Lee didn't realize that at least some players would consider the EMS 4000 ending to be better than the "green" ending, even if that isn't the Bio staff consensus.

Gamble should also be lumped into this statement as well.

Dunno what people are doing wrong.
I finished with over 6k EMS with an ME1/ME2 Paragon import and didn't even touch multiplayer.

I call bs on this too.  My EMS is 5302, Galatic Readiness at 100%, did all side quest, N7 quest.  And promoted 2 characters in multiplayer to become war assets.

Stop with the posts telling it's possible to achieve 4000+ EMS in singleplayer alone. Just stop it. It has been proven many times that this cannot be done, unless you have an altered coalsced.ini.

And that stickied post, with the 'misinformation' (i.e. lies) needs to be removed.

They won't remove that. Bioware and their mods are far too arrogant to do that.

you can't call bs b/c you played the MP . . . clearly this thread is about attaining 5000 ems WITHOUT MP

So....

Since DBZMangus pretty much proved your witch hunt exactly that....a witch hunt. Who's going to start the thread apologizing to Jarrett and BioWare for making false claims? No one huh? Quick to attack, slow to say you were wrong. Typicall forum posters...

Pretty much every EMS with no MP over ~3600 or so I've seen so far was due to either tampering with game files or a supposed bug that doubled the scores of some assets.

Question to just address my curisoity on this one. Does the Data Mining or other sources take into account the additional resources you can earn from the Day one DLC?

If they consider the green ending the best, well they should specify as such. Right now the best ending for fans is shep breathing and that is impossible to obtain without mp.
