I beat the game with 7000+ assets (adjusted down to 3500 because I didn't start multiplayer until after beating the game). You apparently only need an adjusted 3000 assets to max out the little green bar, so unless there's an ending that needs way more than a maxed green bar (and if so, why have the green bar at all?) then you most DEFINITELY can max out the bar without multiplayer. You might have to make the right choices, because you can definitely make wrong ones that will leave you with less resources, and you definitely need to mine those asteroids for loot, but it's totally doable.

correct, there are 4000EMS and 5000EMS checks for the 'deep breath' sequence depending on other choices made

GREAT... I was playing last night, and saw that my EMS was reset to 0 for some strange reason. To give you an idea of where I'm at in the game without going into "OMGWTF SPOILERZ" territory, I'm a little over halfway through.

I have just finished my first play though, I do not have xbl nor do I want it hence sp only for me. My shep is imported from 1 and 2, I had 5900 ems the other thing was obviously at 50%. I chose to destroy the reapers and got no shep breath ending. So you can't just play through as a sp to get that ending then?

Your EMS can't possibly be that high with 50% readiness. That's most likely your TMS you're seeing.

Yes I think you're right actually. So basically without multiplayer I'm screwed?

I know it sound silly because it's a 10 second clip but I do feel this should be obtainable.

That's just silly then. If they have a green bar like that then filling it completely should be all that you need to get the best results. If you need more than that then the bar should be longer.

That aside, I'm not convinced that you still couldn't reach the right number, as I missed out on at least a few resource opportunities that may well have pushed me to 8000 non-adjusted. It still probably wouldn't have changed the ending I chose, which was Bulbasaur.

That's only 100 WA points, so 50 EMS at 50% Readiness. Not enough to get you to 4000.

I believe theoretical maximum WA is something like 7600 points. I haven't completed my analysis yet, but the final total won't be far off from that.

Not all fans. None of my Sheps would ever pick the red ending anyway.

Holy hell! I posted the answer to this not four posts above this in italics with bold! If you can use the Datapad or Infiltrator apps you don't need multiplayer! Otherwise, you do! Obtainable!

You guys just don't realize that they are planning to sell the rest of those War Assets to us in DLC content over the next few months.

It will be possible without multiplayer, as long as you buy From Ashes, Retake Omega, and every other DLC coming out.

I do find this weird, you'd think Bioware would be trying to cover their asses and remove stickied posts on their official forums where they explicitly lie to the Mass Effect players. The only reason I could think of that Bioware claims you can get the "best" ending is if with the future DLC provides enough new Military Assets with purchase and completion so a player that doesn't want to or can't play multiplayer would be able to get over 4000 EMS.

Truthfully though,I don't know why Bioware went about this the way they did. I find it offensive how Bioware is literally punishing players that hate Co-op Multiplayer, don't have Xbox Live Gold, or don't have a broadband internet connection so severely. I mean they cut your war assets in half for not playing a separate and completely optional (plus possibly under-developed) game mode, something I've never seen done. It would make so much more sense to just give people that play Multiplayer extra Military Assets (for successfully completing a whole mission), that Bioware could cap off at a certain level.

Personally I've had a lot of fun playing Multiplayer when I was with a good group of people, however it is already getting old. If Bioware wants to successfully create a long term Mutliplayer fan base, they have to release DLC to change things up. One thing is that unless you die, depending on the difficulty you chose and your play style, the missions will last from 20-40 minutes. I would love to see shorter versions, like only 5 waves of varying objectives, or missions only of certain objectives. This way, it could cut down the time, and if someone doesn't like one set of objectives and loves another, they could get to play what they like instead of having to play each type in every mission. One other thing that I think that could be really interesting is if future DLC added actual story based/linked Co-op Multiplayer missions, possibly on Earth or the other home planets that are under attack. Plus I wouldn't mind having them add to the level cap, possibly giving more unique stat buffs (gold is still incredibly hard with high level characters) and more abilities with the chance to choose which 3 you want to want to use in the pre-game screens. There are multiple characters that have some cool abilities with some really crap ones, I'd love to have more RPG choices with my many characters. Also, one more thing, I wish that even when you promoted a class of characters, you could select like a max of 4or5 total characters to keep leveled up for when you play Gold missions, it could be your an All-Star team.

I don't know about Infiltrator, but I'd hardly call Datapad mobile gaming, though I imagine the issue is with privacy and not the gaming itself. Either way, the point is people have options, and the fact is...BioWare needs to make some adjustments to the EMS requirements.

I do not have infiltrator, I do however have the data pad tbf I like the codex but the actual galaxy at war thing is seriously boring. Sorry but I don't think it's fair for sp to be punished like this. Honestly it's a huge stinking pile of bollocks.

The word you're looking for is "lie".

If there's not enough war assets in the single player campaign to get the optimal ending, then the sticky is a LIE. It is not "misleading" or filled with "misinformation" as others have said.
