It depends what you consider the "perfect" ending.

There is a bonus video for one of the endings that triggers if you have 4,000 EMS and are able to pass a persuasion check near the end of the game. If you're not able to use persuasion or choose not to do so, you need 5,000 EMS.

Neither value is attainable without having played multiplayer or using the iOS apps to raise your readiness from the default 50%.

Note that the EMS is apparently calculated before the point of no return, so you need to have the required amount before launching that mission to get the correct end sequence.

That point of no return obviously being Cronos Station.

Well.....thanks thread, you;ve saved me another 34 hours of my life....I was going to run my pure paragon through, to see if I could get that 4k EMS, since this Shep (even Wiki'ing all the 'correct' choices to make) is going to be hitting the point of no return (on a NG+ game) with EMS of only 3320.....so no point in playing anymore if I can't hit that magic number without MP or Apple Apps....

I'm an Android user, so no apps for me....and *meh* ME is a SP game...MP should have been spun off as a separate game, or just a fun aside with no bearing on the main gameplay at this point.

I'm not actually sure this ending is the best ending. It might be more accurate to say that 4K gives an option that you don't get at 3K.

Them not playing it purely out of protest doesn't matter except for their "principles" or whatever sense of misguided justice they feel like it accomplishes.  BW doesn't make money from them pressing the MP menu button, they have their money from when they bought the product.

They aren't playing it because they don't like it or because they don't think they will like it because Mass Effect is supposed to be a single player game supposedly.

For me, it's "don't like MP." Won't speak for others.

I play games to get away from dealing with other people, not to do more of that.

No time either for proper MP or soloing. I never had enough time to play any MP regulary anyway. However I am curious how it is.

A lot of people cant play MP because their net connection being not fast enough. So they are sayin they are being punished with cut content.

Besides that not even the point here, a lot of people also said thet they may not like MP or will not want to play them in an SP game.

Bioware before release explicitly assured these people time and time again that all content can be assesed by playing SP alone. It will be very tough to achive but still possible. The MP portion will make achiving the varied endings easier not complusory. No where was it said that by only playing MP will you be able to achive any specific cut scene.

If bioware had such intention of making MP coumpulsory to achieve a specific ending scene that should have said it the moment the issue came up before game release. Instead they choose not to address this issue early at all.

Its sad to see BIOWARE getting flak for such things. ME 3 is an excellant game, well the ending maybe debatable but the rest of it is awesome there is no doubt about it. But they not being open with their fan-base creates these problems which could have been easily avoided.

An excellent point. 

If BioWare wanted the MP to be part of the overall experience, I have no issue with it.  They simply needed to say so from the beginning however.  Their silence on this issue is deafening.  All they need to do is come out and explain that there was a mistake made and that will be fixed OR they should explain that this is what they envisioned but the communication was botched. 

It’s unfortunate they have taken the EA style “just ignore it” route.

I agree , i really want this to be cleared - and an official (!) answer from Bioware

I do not want to play MP - this is the first time I am really annoyed about a
statement from Bioware

Personally, I'm playing multiplayer. I'm liking multiplayer.

I still think this is bull****.

Don't really have anything meaningful to add. I'm just throwing my support in with everyone else who's upset about this issue.

I wont use multiplayer for my single part of the Shepard story. I wonder when or if multiplayer will not affect the single part. I think bioware/EA should add something in options if you want to play multiplayer or not it wont or will affect single story if you choice to.

I don't know how you do it, but I think you can use some editors to fix the default values of GR to 100%. That would of course require the use of 3rd party applications I imagine, and as said I have no idea how you would go about doing it.

I'm starting to expect Bio to just patch out the EMS 4000 ending. It's the major support for the "indoctrination" hypothesis.

We had a huge, 40+ pages thread about this here until last week. It got moved to the gameplay subforum without further input from the mods or anyone else. Players were left wondering why BW was not answering.

IMO this is a much bigger issue than the face import issue or the endings. I wish it would be addressed. It seems to be getting lost among the other complaints.
