Anyone up for Twitter-bombing Mike Gamble about this?
Looks like Mike Gamble's saying that Synthesis is optimal...

No guys.
Synthesis IS the most difficult to get.
Destroy is the easiest.
He's being tricky - Destroy WITH 'Shepard Lives' is the hardest, but overall, Synthesis is the hardest to activate in itself.
Bioware is VERY sneaky with their words.

Problem is it still negates "You're not required to get MP to get optimal ending." Lie in every sense of the word.

Again, he's being tricky and not counting the 'Shep Lives' Destroy ending, imo.

Hmm. I didn't notice the increased War Assets for the Salarian forces for saving the Council. That makes it better to save the Council after all. I could've sworn everybody before was saying that it was better to not save the Council.AlanC9 wrote...

I simply have to question the accuracy of this. It's not that I think you all are liars, but I can't imagine that the entirety of Mass Effect (1) is only worth about 400-500 War Assets.
(snip)
Is Mass Effect (1) really so inconsiquential to your EMS then?
Looks like it. Reviewing the known War Assets, I find only these points from ME1:
Rachni Queen spared: 100
Balak survived BTDS: 15
Shiala survived: 30
Khalisah al-Jilani wasn't punched: 5
Let council die: Admiral Mikailovich +25
Saved council: Destiny Ascension +70, First Fleet -25, Third Fleet -25, Fifth Fleet -25, Salarian forces +55 = +50
Helped Jenna: +4
Wrex survives +5 (possible)
Major Kirrahe survives +20 (unavailable on PS3)
And at least some of these are default choices if you didn't play the content, like Balak.
Note that saving the council seems to give a few more points.
Also note that this part of the wiki still needs work.
And in the end, that's just terrible. That's only 229 points, and without playing multiplayer you only get credit for 114. Although that actually improves the PS3's eventual chances. Since 175 of those points are available on the PS3 version, all we need is an additional 59 points over what Xbox players need.

I don't play multiplayer or MMO's, I've tried and they are not for me.
ME is a single player franchise.
They said you could get the most optimal ending with Single Player only. Optimal to me means most desirable, which to me means seeing my Shep take a breath in rubble(Bioware's response will probably be on the lines of 'Well it's all subjective').To me they lied or it's just another oversight they couldn't be bothered to deal with.
You know I'm getting really fed up with Bioware.

According to the data logs, Kirrahe is meant to lead an STG team of 35 points as well, but no one has seen that yet.

Well put. I suppose this problem would get more attention if not for this huge "stupid endings" drama that overshadowed everything else.
On the other hand, maybe not.

I guess we will have to wait until April to see if they even address this issue.
