Saving this spot on the off chance it's true. Here's hoping!

Make me proud, Bioware. Make yourselves proud.

www.youtube.com/watch

EDIT: To clarify, the thread would be for BSN to apologize to Bioware, not the other way around. Though them jumping in to apologize for the deception would be a nice touch.

EDIT 2: This thread is also meant to hopefully inspire Bioware to take this route (if they arent already) to cover their behinds, if anything due to the amount of fans they'd win back (as viewed by their admittance to apologize).

An Indoc ending would be brilliant because it would be Bioware's attempt to break the 4th wall and Indoctrinate the PLAYER, not Shepard. If the player still chose to destroy the Reapers in the end, despite "getting an ending" with all 3 choices, they would conquer Indoctrination, and get to continue the story.

Thanks to Dr. Hello, Intersect, and JSXDF for their input and clarifying my thoughts.

There is no evidence whatsoever to support this.

ya. I do find it hard to believe a company like bioware/ea would willingly expose themselves to the heat they have taken over this just so they could make sure noone gets their ultimate ending "spoiled."

If they planned an incomplete game we should apologize? Not bloody likely.

No thread needed. A free improved ending DLC is apology enough.

There's no chance they'd allow for company image destruction as well as taking a HUGE PR hit just to "surprise us". They basically acknowledged this was the ending and tried to justify its artistic license with it.

I can't say it was actually planned even if Bioware themselves say it was. If this is their attempt at a publicity stunt, they're basically shooting themselves in the foot.

I don't believe Bioware has anything -planned- but if they do, then should we really apologise for Bioware giving us a false ending and asking us to pay them for the real one?

Deliberately sabotaging their own product to scam more money from players is a dangerously reputation-shattering move. Although there is an endgame message window urging us to look forward to DLC, I doubt even EA would attempt to do this. It's unfortunate, but it appears that the ending was meant to be taken at face value (or if it was not, then Bioware did not predict the overwhelming fan reaction and did not prepare for it).

Yeah, but there's also no evidence to NOT support this... ;))) "This has all been an elaborate ruse?"

Get the hint, Bioware? Get it????

Frankly if they have ending DLC planned I suspect we'll be charging onto every other review site on the internet to raise the games user review score up to a 9 or 10. I haven't posted a user review at all but I will. That's the least we can do.

As far as I'm aware the only people who could get it free would be PC players. Those who own a 360 (maybe PS3 don't know for sure, since I don't have one.) would have to pay for it.

Even if DLC was planed it would be better for them PR wise to say it was not, because many people would be mad they intentionally released an unfinished game.

By an apology thread you mean BioWare profusely apologising for lying outright when they said the Core game was 'complete'?

They would not say it's a "real Ending".
They'd say it's an "alternate Ending".
I think.

It would still be badass and I'd definitely even use BW points for it.

Exactly. To come right out and say "lol we screwjobbed you" would be corporate suicide.

See that's my problem with the indoctrination theory. I would rather not believe that EAWare would be that greedy than believe that they planned on more content.

I would be fine if they adopted the indoctrination model, but not if they planned it all along.

I thought of that, but then I remembered I don't really think it was their plan all along.

(And, yeah, I'd have to apologize for that line if it were true... for real).

That's a rather interesting ethical dilemma.  Huh.
