I played a demo of Heavy Rain on the PS3 last night. The demo was pretty short, but I liked what I saw. It was one of the most unique games I've ever played. Supposed to be released on Tuesday, but of course I'm out of town again until Friday so I won't be able to rent or buy a copy until then.

KOTOR has issues with the newer Nvidia cards, but there IS a fix!

I've tested it on Vista and Win7, and there are comments about getting it to work with XP
Hope this helps!

I did finally manage to get it to work, miraculously. And then spent the next two hours wondering why the hell I was still on that dumb mining colony... >.>

Alistair: Make me king!
Me: Presto! You're king.
Alistair: Oh. I um. I have to dump you now. I'm so sorry.
Me: You don't say?
Alistair: Yes, I'm sorry, really.
Me: It's okay. I have back-up elf on tap. I need one ending where I run off with Zevran anyway. Next time we run off together and reform the Grey Wardens and no king, though.
Zevran: *offers massage*
Me: *takes offer* *cut scene*
Zevran: *offers earring*
Me: Um... already? Well, I um... *refuses earring*
Zevran: *gets angry*
Me: Wanna join me in my tent?
Zevran: No. I. No.
Me: Ooookay.
presently...
Me: *propositions Isabella*
Zevran: Me, too?
Me: So, let me get this straight. You won't sleep with me because you're confused over me refusing the earring, but you'll happily jump into a threesome with me and Isabella?
Zevran: Of course.
Me: The men in this game are SO fickle.
-----
Riordan: I will take the final blow.
Me: Okay then.
Riordan: I have this awesome plan...
Me: Yeah?
Riordan: Yes. I will leap from a rooftop onto the back of the archdemon with a single sword, and kill it while it's in flight!
Me: ...
Riordan: Brilliant, right?
Me: No.
Riordan: What?
Me: No. This is a stupid idea. There are so many other things you could do. Shoot at it from, I don't know, the GROUND, maybe?
Riordan: That's ridiculous. And terribly undramatic.
Me: How do you think the mechanics of that will work, exactly? You think the archdemon's just gonna let you tag along for the ride? I'm thinking it throws you off, and splat! "Pancake Riordan", no final blow.
Riordan: No, this plan will work. I am convinced of it.
Me: That's what Cailan said at Ostagar, too.
Riordan: Brilliance is never appreciated in its time.

Dear Hurlock General,
While your Axe of the Vashoth has been noted and inventoried, please be advised that it would behoove you to leave behind better weapons at this critical point in the game. Specifically, ones appropriate for a level 24 character. Thanks for playing, and better loot next time.

I disagree. Anyone can hang out at the water cooler and chat. This thread is for cool people only.

Oghren: But it's eyes are bleeding at me! Bleeding!
Wynne: I feel compelled.
Me: I swear, I hate having to tell you all what to kill. Seems obvious that the things with swords that start hitting us would be the first priority.
Wynne: You'd think so...but it's...it's so pretty, I just want to be near it.
Me: You really love justifying all the things you've ever done as being the best of all possible worlds, Wynne.

Alistair: Even though he's almost naked, you really can't tell that he was crushed to death. In a suit of armor. Which would leave all sorts of jagged wounds that only got worse once they tried to take the armor off. In fact, they fixed the armor up nicely too... Tell me why we want armor that someone easily died in, again?

The Spirit Anvil makes me want to rage quit every time I get to it. Alistair and Oghren are lucky that the PC can't stab companions willy nilly, because they would not make it out with all their limbs.

I always assume complete control (ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL!) of all party members during this encounter. No special abilities, no specific spells. Just grab control of everyone and tell them to attack the nearest ghost dwarf. It's much easier and goes pretty quickly. As long as you avoid the blood, nobody should get seriously hurt either.

Preview article on part of DA: Awakening. Interesting read. Sounds like a 1.5 to me versus an expac... which is a good thing. It means things are gonna be pretty different in DA 2. Sounds like MOST of the characters you've been working on are gonna be gone in it though. Unless maybe if you tried to talk them into coming with you at the end of the game? idk.
"Also, there's no sex in Awakening. Deal with it."

I usually assume control also. Not hard, just..."What the hell?" inducing.
I'm already gimped 'cause I have to bring Oghren, which by the time I make it to there, he's going to die every four seconds.
Like I need to be reminded that my companions are...deficient in certain, insulting ways.

Morrigan: I rather like being able to injure my fellow travelers.
PC: Of course you do. OK, have it your way. *waits for Alistair to thaw*
(after being almost annihilated by bounty hunters in the Frostback Mountains)
Alistair: Even I knew we shouldn't have come to Orzammar straight out of Lothering.
PC/Morrigan: *face down on path*
Alistair: Seriously, I made her the leader because I thought she was smarter than me.
PC/Morrigan: *face down on path*
Leliana: Maybe we should go help them...
Morrigan: *pops to life* I hate you all so much right now.
PC: *pops to life* I think my usual plan of getting Orzammar out of the way early on isn't going to work out so well this time.
Alistair: I think you might be missing an eye.
PC: I wish. I'd love to rock an eyepatch.
PC: Anyway, I think Orzammar is out for now. We can't get the Dalish until Alistair has Cleanse Area, I don't want to find out that I'm running with Prince Bastard for at least two more allies, and I'm pretty sure that Brother Genitivi has a better chance against the Haven cult than we do right now. So, to the Circle of Magi it is! If we're lucky, we can get a healer out of the deal.
Alistair: Again, why did I put you in charge?
PC: Well, to be fair, it worked out pretty well for you the first 12 times.

idk what happens if you're dead. But, if you play as the hero-warden, you'll apparently be loved by the people. If you roll a new warden at approx the level of the hero warden, you will be from Orlais and as such met with fear and suspicion. At the very least, it'll be worth playing the game both ways.

LOL. Yep. Nightmare veteran here. Circle Tower is the first stop, always. Well... actually, I usually go pick up Shale first. She's a better tank than Allistair until his strength gets high enough to wear some decent armor and he's got a bunch of the shield talents.

It probably won't take long for somebody to mod some sex into Awakenings. If I've learned anything about my fellow gamers over the years it's this - a large number of us really enjoy our pretend romances and pixelated porn. I mean, have you looked at how many nude or nearly nude mods there are available for DA already? Not to mention the Better Sex mod.... And these are the most popular mods out there.
