Ah yeah.  Talisman. Good fun that. And the whatchamacallit with the thingie, we call it "Drakborgen" in  Swedish, which translates to "Dragon's Castle" or "Dragon's Fortress". A lovely board game I've spent countless hours playing with my friends. I  still remember that ONE time,  I  was the only one who managed to nick pretty much all of the dragon's hoard before calling it even and started to head out of the castle.

Event Card:  Stalking  Shadow. On a d6, roll 1 and it will insta-kill you. 2-6 and you're safe for another round. ONE  SQUARE  from the exit:  Roll 1. *STAB* DEATH.

My friends actually felt pity for me that time (usually it's just giggling with glee at my misfortune) as they all died when they dragon awoke when they were stealing its treasures. Roast human, anyone?

Ah.  Good times. Good memories.

This is why I will not play with the card called "The Horrible Black Void" in play at the end.  And I'm always the Prophetess.

Just had a 2hr session against the computer. I HATE white decks. I was blue. Counter and pacify and good lord, enough! I won through artrition. Don't wanna do that again. Anyway:

They should remake loads of these good old board games into arcade ones for the 360 or so. I'd be on them in an instant. Like Talisman, for one, or Hero Quest or so. That would be pretty wicked.

Well, I hate to interrupt a conversation with another random topic that has nothing to do with anything anybody else was talking about. . . But I'm going to anyway.  Posted Image

I was over at The Escapist to watch Yahtzee's latest Zero Punctuation review, and while there I found something completely unexpected that I really enjoyed.  A review of one of my favorite games ever, Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines, written 6 years after the game's release and focused mostly on what went wrong and why the game fell short of it's potential.  Of course, anyone who knows the game and it's history would be able to tell you all of that, but being a fan I thought it was great that the game was still getting attention even after all this time.  The article is here, if anybody besides me cares:

www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_244/7258-The-Last-Masquerade

Of course, it's possible the article caught my attention because of who they used for the picture.  My favorite video game fantasy girl, the lucious lunatic Jeanette Voerman.  Check her out:

Them boobs. She has 'em!

Vampire the Masquerade was a pretty solid game if you could get over the fact that halfway through it would crash you out because of a stupid bug you had to type a console command to fix. Sadly, the replay value on the game was rather diminished. Only went through it once then shelved it.

The looks are only part of her appeal.  It's her personality and the bizzare yet strangely alluring way she flirts that put her at the top of the list of my video game crushes.

Jeanette:  Hello, kitten.  You made quite an impression earlier.  Did you come back just to see little old me?
PC: Yes.  I couldn't stop thinking about you.
Jeanette:  Really?  Do I often go pogo sticking through your thoughts wearing nothing but a smile?  Be honest.  Or don't.
PC:  All the time.  What do I do in your thoughts?
Jeanette:  On hands and knees you lap up the milk of me.  And we purr kitten, like dragonflies buzzing around frog bellies.

What's sad is that even though it's been years since I played the game, I still have that memorized.

But yeah, the game was damn near unplayable at release, even with the official patch.  Thankfully the community produced unofficial patch rectifies that.

Definitely. Don't need to have a Gold account to get your paws on MtG.

Yeah, the game was horrible at launch. I  remember running through all kinds of stupid hoops trying to get past that ****block bug until a friend sent me the code via instant messaging that would get me past that area and into the next.

Good then thats one more game to help me kill time till Spellforce 2 Faith in Destiny and Alpha Protocal. Not counting DA:O Awakening which I'll probably get on release day. Although i'm just going to try the free version first.

Free Version is multiplayer only, I believe. Or I could be wrong, but you'll find out sure enough.

Ok so I've played the trail game and it has the single player campain only, but i upgraded to the full game because i liked it thanks Keldon and Recidiva for talking about it. My only complaint is only 8 challenge's, i have already solved 2 of them.

But you can keep playing against them to unlock all the cards.

I hate blue decks myself though (unless I'm playing them) and I avoid the bluechallenges.  I think we tend to play against the team of black/green lady and white/red/green...Lion.  We go ahead and unlock all of the stuff and then pick on the easiest guys to unlock cards.

I'm not sure what your talking about, i'm talking about the challenges where you have one turn to win and have to think about what cards to play and in what order but i only have the basic game not the expansion.

During campaign, each opponent you defeat has a chance of unlocking either a Deck or a special card for your current Deck.

You can pick a deck then do the campaign again (if you've completed it once) to unlock new cards for that particular deck.

Example:  You start out with a blue deck then complete the campaign. You've unlocked all special cards for that deck. You start over, this time with say a black deck. Then do the campaign again, now you'll unlock special cards for the black deck.

EDIT (because I  suck at remembering stuff):  You can do this for all decks. Basically, just do the campaign over and over until you've unlocked all the cards for all the decks. I'm in the process of unlocking stuff for the  blue deck. Ironically, the deck seems to be made to whittle down your opponents through artrition and not through preventing him from doing stuff. Average game length: 1h30min :/

I know that, i was talking about the challenges which are like puzzles, you only have one turn to win and you have to play your cards and abilitys in the right order to win, not the campaign. I have now solved 7 of them, with help from my brother and are now stuck on the eighth, we have been trying for nearly an hour.

Okay, I just read through all 104 pages of this thread, then completed my registration just so I could tell you all how funny (and insightful) you are. I never *actually* LOL reading stuff online, but I did so, so many times reading this....

I just started an evil playthrough of DAO in your honor, Recidiva.*I just abandoned Redcliffe before, now I'm headed to Ostagar to tell whatserface to abandon her son and get my army of golems! Oh, and make my noble dwarf support Bhelen, because it's more wrong than any other option......

Yaaay!  Evil rules.  It's also kinda a cure for having any respect for Alistair.

Me:  "Kill Wynne!"
Alistair:  "I won't help you kill an old woman and children!"
*Alistair kills Wynne*
Me:  Way to take a stand.
Alistair:  Meh.  They were abominations.

Isn't it more evil to let Branka go crazy with the Anvil with the weaker Harrowmont as King? It leads to kidnapping surfacers and increased caste restrictions...

So I just went through Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising. A bit disappointed, really. Was hoping for a larger expansion, not something you can blast through in one evening.

But...if you're a dwarf, putting Harrowmont on the throne means you can take over Orzammar and also become a Paragon.

That made my evil wench giggle.

But otherwise there's no way to win anything in Orzammar.  Hate.  That.  Place.

Orzammar. No matter if you win, you still lose. I think that sums up that place nicely. The place doesn't make any sense, at all.
