I think the next DLC for ME2 should consist of a Thunderhawk Gunship instead of that crappy shuttle. .

Edit:  Damn it. Did so much time pass already?  I've been completely engrossed in Final Fantasy XIII. My main gripe with the game is how everyone is so bloody emo all the time. Makes me want to smack them around.

Wow, this thread got knocked back a few pages, eh?  I guess it's finally starting to wind down to an end.... :(

Anyway, completed Awakenings for a second time over the weekend.  Since I wasn't playing a rogue this time around, I had Sigrun with me for most of it.  I have to save, I really like her.  I love that little laugh she does at the end of battle.  I love her sense of wonder at all the sights - and smells - the surface has to offer, and all the little surface trinkets you give her as gifts.  I love her banters with party members.    If we had had Sigrun in Origins, I think I would have romanced a dwarf.

Some of my favorite Sigrun lines:

When my PC tries to open a locked chest
Sigrun:  Ha!  Fail.

At the Amaranthine market stall:
Sigurn:  Ooooh, so much shiny!

Banter with Anders:
Anders:  You know, I always thought dwarves would be nicer.
Sigrun:  You know, I always thought mages would be smarter.

I'm not sure if I'll play Awakenings again or not.  I did start a new game as the Orlesian warden, but I didn't like starting at level 18 with gear that's - well, not really horrible, but kind of horrible when compared to all the great stuff you could have by the end of Origins.  But, since I've finished GoW3 and am pretty much done with ME2 for a while, maybe I'll start a new game of Dragon Age to take a fresh character from start to finish, Origins thru Awakenings. . .

Glad to see I'm not the only who liked Sigrun. She's probably the first dwarf character I didn't want to kill personally. She should've been an elf >.>

Seeing as I still haven't bought myself a 360, I've gone in the opposite Final Fantasy direction. I'm playing VIII again, for the first time in a long time. Honestly, it's better than I remember, which isn't something I've noticed in many of the FF games. The junction mechanics are game-breakingly easily though, as if Limit Breaks weren't enough. Squall is currently hitting about 1k with a standard melee hit (and all swings of his Renzokuken, btw) while even the other characters junctioned nearly as well as him are doing about 300. I don't even CAST spells; they exist only to be junctioned for max damage.

He is also equipped with Counter.

The more I hear about XIII, the more I want to play it. And here I was, thinking I was done with the series after X (bland), X-2 (god-awful), and XII (slow-paced)... Linear play would be a bonus for me, at this point. I play for story, not to grind level after level after level...

I'm enjoying the few hours I've played of XIII (time is very hard to come by). It's super linear, but as I've mentioned elsewhere some of the graphics have literally made me start tearing up, they're so amazing. Combat is super fun - the Paradigm system is deeper than it looks.

My only serious complaint so far is that I want to punch Vanille and Snow so hard my knuckles split apart.

LOL After about the millionth time I heard Vanille shout "I'm not all smiles and sunshine" when I shifted to a more aggressive paradigm, I wanted to punch her too.

Glad to see this thread stepped back up.

Awakening party dialogue (theme is unfortunate but true...):

PC: Sigrun, there was a surfacer dwarf standing here in town, but...I just don't know what happened to her. I meant to ask, since it was pretty odd to have a female red-haired dwarf, early middle age, just standing there looking as though she was waiting for someone to talk to.

Sigrun. You just...described my old boss. Mischa.

PC: Wonder what happened to her?

Velanna: Interesting. We all woke up in clothing. Somehow, you just <poofed> in wearing nothing but underwear, but our entire party inventory including Maric's Blade and several high-end daggers showed up in a pile next to you.

Sigrun: Well, I'm not complaining (grabs two daggers). (To PC) You didn't really *want* that shiny gold armor or the two big longswords with the weird runes, did you?

Master Wade: Come talk to me! I have a quest arrow! Psych! I only wanted to complain about turnip keep, and I will pretend to have no interest in the sylvan heartwood you have in your inventory.

There have been some pretty well-written bits of interstitial party banter...still wish they showed up in conversation logs or somewhere since I often play with the sound off and sometimes miss them entirely even with subtitles.

Banter I *wish* I'd seen:

Oghren: Mage, I was pretty sure of it before, but now I'm certain.

Anders: What, exactly?

Oghren: You've got a ****!

Anders: What? WHAT!

Oghren: Isn't that what you surfacers call it? A cat? Isn't that what's under your robes?

Anders: Oh...yes. Yes, I have a....cat. Under my robes

Oghren: Why, what did you think I was talking about?

Anders: Never mind...

*battling through the keep*

(Note: SPOILERS!!!... of the first 15 minutes of the Expac. Just in case someone hasn't played it yet.)

Oghren: Hey! It's you! Mr. World-Saving Grey-Warden! I'm here to join the--

(the crunch of a battle axe crushing a dwarf's skull)

Me: He was a Genlock. I swear.

Mhairi: But he looked like a dwarf.

Me: Trust me. He's evil. And hopefully now the Game-Gods will let me keep you, Mhairi.

Mhairi: Keep me?

Me: You can't take the Joining, btw.

Mhairi: B-b-but--

Me: No buts. I'm the all-powerful Grey Warden, and I say no Joining for you. But you can still be my personal assistant. And bed-warmer.

Mhairi: I came here to join the Grey Wardens :(

Me: I came here to get laid. Doesn't mean it's going to happen. Anyway, your first task: Get me a bigger bed. We need room for you, me, and a little dwarf-chick.

Mhairi: A dwarf?

Me: I know! That's what I said, too.

And  Hope. I swear to God Almighty, if I  hear him whinge and moan again for absoutely no reason and then only to have done a complete 180 when it comes to moods,  I  will rip him a new one.

you know, i really can't see the appeal of Mhairi, i mean you meet her then battle through a castle infested with darkspawn and then she dies, she doesn't even have any really entertaining banter imo, even the scene with the guy who dies just doesn't affect me in any way,

"ok your friend just died infront of you, welcome to the friggin club."

What part of putting off the saving of the world in an attempt to gather gifts and get laid is immature?

Not so much immaturity as annoying squad members. Sten is never happy unless he's neck deep in Darkspawn blood. Alistar is bi-polar. "I can't believe you did  X.  It helped us immensely so yay! but  I  can't believe you did that!"
Oghren is just annoying. Morrigan, doubly so. And don't even get me started on Leliana... And Wynne.

Hell, Shale's the only normal one around there. And Zevran. To some extent.

Aw, I never had ANY problems with Leliana. Hell, she was ready to drag me into her tent on the playthrough where I was trying to romance MORRIGAN. And I do love bubbly women, so long as they're not stupid...

The constant lecturing did get annoying.

I request a sideplot to get Alistair laid while playing a male character. Not to sleep with him, mind you, just to get him laid. Because that's what bro's do.

New Mass Effect 2 DLC! New Character! Who's totally un-interractable, just like Zaeed!...

Well, I think the mission is reasonably difficult, at least. I mean, I don't KNOW if it is since I played on my soldier and he's set to normal, but there were a lot of ppl attacking me. And two Ymirs. Just because I held down the trigger on my Revenant the whole time doesn't mean the mission is always easy.

New SMG though. Couldn't play with it; like I said, I was on my soldier. Maybe after work I'll do the mission on my Adept or something.

I quite liked Kasumi. Charming lady.

The new SMG is... how shall  I put it: Worse than I feared, better than I hoped. Or was it the other way around?  It's accurate, sure enough, but it doesn't do as much damage as the Tempest SMG. It's stylish enough, though. And we all know:  Style Before Substance. Right?  ... Right?

Anyway:  I think Miranda is gonna kick the bucket at the suicide mission. I don't quite like that ****. For some odd reason I  couldn't defuse the confrontation between her and  Jack after Jack's loyalty mission. Picked Jack then told Miranda to go pout or call the Illusive Man and cry to him. And she was all:  "I  don't pout. *pouts*"

I'm rambling.  FOOD!  Then some more  ME2. Just for the hell of it all.

Yeah, but in DA you have the chance to leave them in camp naked.  Not so in FFXIII.

Well if you're not romancing Morrigan, you get your chance at the end.

Playing a DC and siding with Bhelen right after playing a DN kind of freaked me out. The first thing Bhelen says to you once he's King and back at the palace is "Now I can embrace you like a brother." Hm, that sounds nice and all but what happened to your last two siblings again? Needless to say, I got the hell out of Orzammar before whatever remnant of the carta that survived came after me.

Kasumi is the Matrix.

I like the accuracy of the Locust, and I don't think it's much worse than the Tempest, if at all. It's just the puny clip size that's getting to me. But the Tempest is 50 rounds and I'm still spending an entire clip trying to kill one guy sometimes. And wearing down an YMIR... yeesh. Like, 100 rounds from the Locust. lol. At least they were all straight at its face.

I  know. The small clip size is really annoying. I  find myself reloading the gun more than  I'm firing it.

YMIR  mechs never posed an issue, really. Arc Projector is brutal against their shields and armour. Then a few well placed headshots to pop off the head and watch the mech go BOOM.

You don't know "Easy YMIR Disposal" until you  hit one with an Infiltrator, packing a Widow, with two teammates providing Overload. Even on Veteran, I rip through them. The best part about the duo on Garrus' mission is reliably being able to headshot one, and blowing up the other in the ensuing explosion.
