I  know. The small clip size is really annoying. I  find myself reloading the gun more than  I'm firing it.

YMIR  mechs never posed an issue, really. Arc Projector is brutal against their shields and armour. Then a few well placed headshots to pop off the head and watch the mech go BOOM.

You don't know "Easy YMIR Disposal" until you  hit one with an Infiltrator, packing a Widow, with two teammates providing Overload. Even on Veteran, I rip through them. The best part about the duo on Garrus' mission is reliably being able to headshot one, and blowing up the other in the ensuing explosion.

Oh  I know of that. It's fun blowing YMIR mechs up.  It's become my own little mini-game whenever I  encounter them. So far,  I'm doing rather good blowing them up AND  everything in a three mile radius around them. :)

I haven't actually played the new ME2 DLC yet. I haven't even tried out the new vehicle yet. It's on my to do list.

Despite all it's flaws, Awakenings actually rekindled my interesting in Dragon Age. Now I've actually been playing all the characters I started on but never finished. Either I'll eventually get them all through Origins and Awakenings or I'll lose interest again. When that happens, then I'll go play with the ME2 dlc.

And  Hope. I swear to God Almighty, if I  hear him whinge and moan again for absoutely no reason and then only to have done a complete 180 when it comes to moods,  I  will rip him a new one.

So, I finally got 13... yeah. Hope. Must. DIE. And I'm only about an hour or two in.

Don't hate Snow yet. And Vanille, while dumb and crazy... uh... how do I put this without sounding like a pedophile?

Well, I like perky, dorky women. So far, I think she qualifies.

It gets worse...

Anyway, I've shelved FFXIII  for the moment.  I'm at a boss who is immune to any debuffs and the fight itself is just so damn cheesy I can't bring myself to complete it. It's frustrating to the point of idiociy.  I disliked such fights earlier and my opinion hasn't changed much.

The fights, I like. Then you go up against an eidolan and the fun mechanic just goes right out the window as you're forced to jump through hoops within a time limit. Double the frustration.

I quit the game. They made me play Hope.

My god. He's suffering from the most unfounded WANGST in the history of, like, everything. Ever. The end.

Yeah.  I can't stand Vanille and Hope.  Lightning gets on my nerves as well but I tolerate her only because she's a decent enough character.

I'm near the end but I just can't bring myself to play anymore.  Not after the idiotic boss  I  need to jump through all kinds of stupid hoops just to beat.

Heading into Chapter 6 now. Wondering when Snow is going to do something other than flashback. Someone should tell him it's FF13, not Family Guy. Maybe something to do with, y'know, THE PLOT.

And by PLOT I mean "plot", and by "plot" I mean wtf are these people talking about?

Yeah, there are sooo many flashbacks compared to gameplay in the first few chapters. And they're not short either. It's like a mini-movie in itself.

And it's not the flashbacks / cutaways that I'm taking issue with so much, since they flesh out the characters. It's that they haven't explained a damn thing about how the society works, or what a number of the words mean, etc. Character motivation. ("Let's steal an airplane-thing and fly up to the forbidden tower full of monsters to tell some guy he's a murderer because he FELL OFF A SKYWAY.")

Wouldn't really call that a spoiler, since it happens in the first chapter.

This is sorta what I didn't like about Fire Emblem Wii, too. You spend so much time jumping around that you don't really get used to the characters' personalities. Worse, delinquent with a heart of gold Snow, my preferred character, hasn't done a thing but stand around and talk tough for the last 8 hours of gameplay. I'm either with the Goof Troop or the Emo Brigade.

Dear Makers of FF13: Would it have KILLED YOU to program in 7 characters so I could at least run around with two groups of three? >.>

It gets SOMEWHAT better later on when you pick up Fang (she's damn hot, btw), not by much but she's the only one who seems to have some semblance of intelligence and proper manners in her skull.

I should probably get to it again, just try and cheese my way through the boss and the last bit before the end boss and all that jazz. Problem is, I just can't bring myself to it. I had the same issues when I was going through ME1 on Insanity. I got fed up with everyone and his mother having the Immunity skill which made the fights obnoxiously annoying and stupid.

Eh, she's not bad. The norm for FF, really.

I don't take Snow as being dumb. Just hot-blooded, like all good male anime characters.

Ok, up to Chapter 11. I think. Anyway, I'm getting kind of bitter at the game for asking me to invest SO. MUCH. TIME. Only for it degenerate into your stereotypical RPG game plot. With the Forces of Generic Evil. Artistic, but still evil. And now, after all my trials and tribulations...

the game expects me to be worried about Hope. I hope he's dead when I find him >.>

Hate to break your bubble, but he's in for the long haul. I swear, I had and I think I still see the outline of my semi-permanent palm imprint on my face. The game is beautiful, but it's just so bloody cliché.

The Proudclad can die in a fire. The most retarded boss fight ever. Been stuck on this for about 2hrs now. Just can't get past it. At least I know now I'll not pick up a japanese RPG ever again. This is no longer fun, it's bloody annoying.

That's it.  I officially give up.  This game can burn in the deepest pits of tartarus.

Sorry if these have been done already

Puck "Am I in trouble?"
Me "no, just give me your sword and take this one, honestly he'll never know and its better than a fork"
Puck "you are a very strange human"

Ser Landry     "I recognise you"
Me     "unless its about Ser Garlon fighting with his dinner fork can't this wait a few days?"
Ser Landry     "You killed my friend and...."
Me         "look I'm sorry about his sword my kit was rubbish and I need the edge against the Ogre"
Ser Landry      "I demand satisfaction"
Me     "Seriously 2 days tops, I'm telling you you'll laugh about it then"

Cammen  "sighs"
Me  stabs repeatedly
Dalish "WTF!"
Me "look he can't hunt, he can't get the girl, he looks like a baby, if I was to offer to help him he'd only whine a bit and maybe give me a book for my troubles. I've helped the genetic purity of your people trust me!"

Elora "oh my poor Halla"
Me "her mate has been bitten, get him out of the herd, she'll be fine though"
Elora "how??"
Me "call me Doolittle, Dr Doolittle"

Howe "I deserved more"
Me " Yes Tim you did, you really really did"

Proudclad was indeed rough, if its the one I remember the trick was to just wait it out when its in the air, commander+healer+debuff/buffer. When it lands on the ground make sure you are buffed and health is high and knock the combo chain up ASAP, when it combo breaks your commanders can toss it. a good strong buffer/debuffer is absolutely key in most any hard fight in FF, until you reach the tonberry trio.....yeah....

As for Hope, he annoyed me at first too but he sorta cowboyed up a bit later, Vanielle on the other hand stayed the worst voice acted character in any game I've ever played. I felt the need to cross reference the producers with the actresses name to find out whos daughter that was....

It's the first Proudclad fight. It's immune to any status ailments, elemental damage is reduced by 50%. It doesn't respond to Provoke (despite the walkthroughs saying it does) so it ends up it killing off my team faster than  I can heal with magic and pots. Every. Single.  Time.

F*ck it. I'm not in the mood of jumping through all kinds of stupid hoops just to beat an encounter.  Here's where  I  draw the line. I  want FUN and challenge in a game, not stupidity and frustration. FFXIII is really beautiful, but the gameplay is sorely lacking.

Gotta admit, I haven't even SEEN the one you're talking about and I'm feeling the game is programmed to be Nintendo Hard. Which is to say, the game cheats. As if the Eidolans in general aren't a good example of this.

Some bosses are just way over the top ridiculous. They are either super-easy but with a bazillion hitpoints, or super-hard with a few hundred thousand hitpoints. Then there's the Proudclad. It's - for lack of better words - stupid. Just plain stupid.
