Anyway, I've shelved FFXIII for the moment. I'm at a boss who is immune to any debuffs and the fight itself is just so damn cheesy I can't bring myself to complete it. It's frustrating to the point of idiociy. I disliked such fights earlier and my opinion hasn't changed much.
I still insist it doesnt get cheesier then the Bayonetta fanservice pose-off which must be done to win the fight agasint a particularly annoying boss.

Me: I'm going to kill you for what you've done to my family and I'm going to enjoy it!
Howe: What I did to your family?
Me: Don't play dumb with me! I keep reliving the of the attack over and over and over again...and I still can't stop Iona from opening the door. I'm starting to think her death was just natural selection...maybe I'll have bettler luck with what's-his-name...
Howe: Look, I don't even knw you. Whatever I did, I'm sure it wasn't personal.
Me: Not personal? Not PERSONAL? You were a guest at my father's estate and then you had him and the rest of the household butchered in the night! How can that not be personal?!?!
Howe: Do any of you have an idea what she's talking about?
Oghren: No, but as long as she keeps supplying me with alcohol and violent deaths, I don't care.
Shale: I have better things to do than worry about its inability to keep its past straight.
Alistair: Is this like when you had to slaughter the entire carta for leaving Leske locked up for over a year and for trying to have you killed, when you had to gut Bhelen for framing you for fratricide, when you had to kill Jowan because Lily deserved better and he was too stupid to live, and whe you had to kill Vaughan for raping your cousin and having your other cousin locked up for over a year despite none of these people having an idea who you were?
Me: Possibly. This might be a strange question but what was my race and background again?
Oghren: Dalish Elf.
Me: Dalish Elf, huh? I see...wait, who do I hate again?
Alistair: Pretty much everyone, I think. Except maybe for dwarves; I don't think you really care one way or another about them.
Me: So I must kill every human I can in revenge, got it.
Shale: I think I like it so much better now than when it thought it was a noble.
Howe: What about me? Since apparently I never did anything to you-
Me: Sorry, shem. It's nothing personal, I just intend to bring death and destruction to your species.

Good idea. If you're an achievement **** like me, a forewarning - the Treasure Hunter achievement takes longer to achieve by itself than finishing the main game. And if you dislike fights during the story, you're going to HATE farming Adamantoises (they have a low chance to drop Platinum Ingot, which is the most effective way to get money in the game - 160k a pop). The thing about them is that if you want to kill them in 2 minutes or less you have to summon at the start of the battle, which means that you have to fight other enemies after the battle for TP to summon again. and the only reliable spawn has a 5 minute walk to and from its location. I would advise against it.

I'm thinking that some games are longer than they need to be. I cite Record of Agarest War, which allegedly has some dating sim elements jammed into a generic Final Fantasy Tactics kind of set-up. I say allegedly because I haven't hardly bumped into any such elements, it consists mainly of randomly generated fights along paths. It promises 80 hours of play, and I'm thinking there's about 10 hours of actual plot to the game.
Other than the obvious ones, ME2 & DA, anyone got any recommendations?

Thoughts on the Darkspawn Chronicles DLC?
I find the concept ludicrous. Alistair couldn't tie his shoes without the PC there to point out that he's not even WEARING shoes. He'd probably have died in the tower, the torch was never lit, and Loghain would've died because the beacon was never lit so he never knew when to retreat.

Honestly I am not looking forward to it at all. Am I still going to bother to pick it up? I don't know. I'll check vids of it after it is released and if there is a moderately positive feedback I may try it out.
I personally felt that the final battle was the most boring part of DA:O. I don't know why, I just did not like it at all. Now, we get to do it as a darkspawn! Yip-friggen-ee.
Squashing Morrigan to a pulp might be fun though.

You can murder him in game if you get him down to -100 approval and you won't let him leave.sagevallant wrote...

I'm not going to touch Bayonetta with a ten foot pole. Much less glance in its general direction.
As for FFXIII. Yeah, it can rot in the deepest, darkest pits of Tartarus. I am never going to touch that game again. Square Enix has failed. I am not amused.

Y'know, it's a sad thing when a game with its amusing cliches and fanservice turned up to 11 is actually SHUNNED in the name of serious games with the same cliches, same generic plots, and inferior playstyle. What's wrong with just having a little fun? >.>
Going to be trying Force Unleashed soon, bought it online.

Uhg i couldnt STAND FF13 so I traded it in after giving up on ever finishing it. It was like torture playing that game for some reason. I got Oblivion to play over the summer with the money I got for trading FF13 in.
I think I played FF13 for about 12 minutes.
I'm busily raising my guild status in EQ2 so I can have a guild hall now.
Maybe I'll name one of my house pets Alistair so I can be relevant.

This is now my favoritest alternate dimension.
It's even better than the one without shrimp. (Been rewatching Buffy. 'ware obscure references.)
