This shaped my warped personality

I had such a crush on Luke Skywalker.  I still do actually.  It's thanks to Star Wars that I ended up loving fantasy and sci-fi so much.  That and my parents love Star Trek.  Every Friday night they would let me and my brother stay up late so we could watch TNG.  Good times.

Have you seen the newest Family Guy Star Wars episode?  Great stuff.  I cried laughing.

Darth Stewie:  If you don't want to talk, we have very persuasive means of torture...
Han: Well, I don't want to be tortured.  Alright, Luke's on Degobah, there's a rebel base on Kashyyk, and I was the one who clogged the toilet on the 16th floor.
Darth Stewie:  That was you?  Oh my god, that was disgusting!  I had to go use the little pig peoples' toilet because of that!

I had more of a crush on Han.  Luke was always too whiny for me. I pitied Obi Wan and Yoda for having to work with that.

When I was a kid I had no interest in Han whatsoever, but now that I'm older I definitely see the appeal and I admit, he's hot stuff.  I actually started reading the Star Wars books that have come out since then.  I still do.  Luke has grown up a lot and he married this chick named Mara Jade, by far, my favorite Star Wars character EVER!  She kicks ASS!!!!  She even tried to kill him, heh.  So him marrying her, gives him some cool points.  You know come to think of it.  Luke's kinda like Alistair, except not as funny.

Hmmm.  Then you have Obi Wan as Duncan of course:
Jabbas the Broodmother,
Bobo Fett could be Zevran,
Leia would be probably more like Anora (except for the bad ruler part),
Chewie would be Dog (of course),
Oola the Twi'lek chick could be Leliana,
R2-D2 can be Ogrhen (you know that robot likes to party and DRINK)
Mon Mothma could be Wynne,
C-3PO could be Shale (sorry Shale, but since you're a girl in an undiscernable gender body you work best, heh I guess they are similar, heh heh),
Darth Vader would be Loghain
Emperor Palpatine would the archdemon
Mara Jade fits best with Morrigan
We'll make Borsk Fey'lya Sten (Bothans tend to be pretty quiet and mean although I'm not sure about their tastes on pastries).
Lando would be Daveth
All that leaves is Han and I can't for the life of me figure who he would be best as.

That's right I am SuperNerd!

Do you mean the Blue Harvest episode?  Of course I've seen it!  But it's been awhile and I don't remember that part.  That could be because my memory blows.  Meh.  But yeah I love Family Guy, I actually just finished watching the new one, Peter loses his memory.  I also, obviously love Star Wars.  For me it's the epitome of Sci-Fi.  "We are the innovators, they are the imitators."

No, no. Blue Harvest was the first Family Guy Star Wars episode. There's a new one out now called Something Something Something Dark Side, which spoofs Empire Strikes Back. It's out on dvd and blu-ray now, so you can pick it up anywhere that as a good movie selection.

I liked his pose once he's frozen.  Heh.  I hope they do one for Return of the Jedi, it's my favorite in the series.  Robot Chicken is supposed to coming out with a third episode of Star Wars some time soon.

If you get Something Something Something Dark Side on dvd, there's a sneak preview of them recording the voice over for the next one so there will be more.  I haven't heard anything about another Robot Chicken Star Wars, but I wouldn't be surprised if they make one.

There is, I just found and watched it.  Heh.  I don't think it was as funny as the other ones, but it wasn't bad.  The Christmas Special however, was pretty damn funny.  The Humping Robot Saves Christmas.  Yay!!!

Borderlands. For. The. Win. An FPS with the WoW gear ranking system. (white >>> green >>> blue >>> purple >>> orange) So far, well, it's giving me nightmares and a panic twitch but it's fun.

If only I wasn't taking so much damage... >_<

I also heard Witcher is good.  But I'm not sure I want to play as a dude.  Kinda sick of having to play as a dude.

Going back two pages, and skipping the shows I didn't watch...

I wasn't able to get into Witcher, I don't like the camera, the controls, or the combat system. Story seems... likeable, I guess? Sorry, but clicking on a bad guy X number of times to kill him sucks. Just random bad guys, god only knows what it must be like to fight bosses. Also, yeah, I don't think it's a very chick-friendly game. Very mysogenistic. "Men are big strong heroes, women are either puny spellcasters or just plain puny." There might be one somewhere who can redeem the game, but I couldn't play long enough to find her. In terms of world development, though, it's epic. Probably because it's based on a series of books.

The quick-paced, wanton violence of Borderlands is mindnumbingly fun. Though, I must admit, the "talent tree" aspect just seems tacked on, forced. Not entirely useful. How can you say bad things about a game that has psychotic midgets hurling axes at you? Wait, lemme rephrase that: How can you say bad things about a game that has psychotic midgets dressed in some kind of steampunk bondage get-up hurling axes at you? One of the four characters you can play is a chick... haven't played her yet so I can't offer a mysogeny report.

Oddly, Bioware seems to be the biggest proponents of chick gamers. I can't think of any game not made by them where that demographic gets even this good of treatment. Evidenced by numerous Alistair threads. He's so good, even straight men fall into a bromance with him.

Hmmm, if I can find time I might need to check out supernatural, that teddy bear scene is AMAZING. I remember the show being entertaining when I would flip to it but never hooked me enough to get me to figure out when it was on each week.

For those with an hour or 3 to kill, I'd highly recommend looking up "There Will be Brawl." You might not be surprised to learn that it's loosely based on Super Smash Brothers. Fan-made and done very, very well (at least until the end episode, then it gets a little sketchy). There's tons of little nintendo related things to pick up on in every episode.

Thanks, that was the impression of Witcher I had from watching the X-Play review.  Looked like Fantasy Grand Theft Auto, not a game premise I like.  Final Fantasy does a decent job of having female characters that aren't just boobs and clothes.

Lionhead did a decent job with Fable 2 at least, letting women be the protagonist.  Although by the end, they just didn't look like women any more.  Hulking out worked okay on guys, but not so well on women.  Start out looking like a girl, end up looking like...well...not good.  The more strength you got, the more musclebound.  It was one of those games where I looked good at the beginning and...by the third playthrough, couldn't stand it any more, had to play a guy.

I wish I were good at FPS, your game sounds fun.

Oh good!  I hope you enjoy the show.  The scripts and cast lists are postmodern movie and music trivia heaven.

I think that show and "Big Bang Theory" have some of the best writing for folks like me.

Pay attention to the brothers' fake names they give. Hell, they even introduced themselves as Detective Starsky and Detective Hutch in one of the early seasons. They've moved on to famous guitarists, now.

Big Bang Theory rocks. I absolutely adore Sheldon, but I'd probably deck him IRL.

I love the fake names.  I have fun rewatching because I'm catching a lot more.  I'm on one of my other absolute favorites.   "A Very Supernatural Christmas"  - I can't actually give lots of quotes 'cause of spoiler effect.  But:

Young Sam: But Dad said the monsters under my bed weren't real.
Young Dean: That's 'cause he'd already checked under there. But, yeah, they're real. Almost everything's real.
Young Sam: Is Santa real?
Young Dean: No.

I love Sheldon.  I'd probably get along with him okay because if I sat in the right place and ate the right food, I'd get cool trivia.  Every time they make him stop talking about something cool, I'm sad.

And I'm SUCH a nerd I know that when they're playing "Talisman" they have the board set up wrong.

On a whim I picked up the Witcher the same day I picked up DOA, but didn't start it until DOA and I needed a little break.  It's a lot shorter than DOA and a lot less replayable, but I found I enjoyed it, even playing a guy.  It even left me with rich pickin's for my fantasy life*.

*just... be grateful I don't write fanfic.  'Mary Sue' is a bit of an understatement. Posted Image

Hehe, I've never played, despite some friends of ours pushing it on us.

You're making me want to go buy the Supernatural DVDs.  Could probably get Season 1 cheap..... hmmmm...... Now I know what I'm going to ask my husband for my birthday.

I have a couple of series rotations...Buffy, Angel, Firefly, House, Supernatural...  House and Supernatural are still going, so I can work more of it in with each rotation!

To say I have Buffy, Angel and Firefly pretty much memorized would probably be pretty accurate.  But the writing in each series makes me really happy.  I'm going to have to collect the Big Bang Theory discs.

I think it's the best of the lot.  The series was very short...alas.  But I'd also sorta be jealous of someone who hasn't seen Firefly the series and then Serenity the movie.  Excellent work in writing, acting and effects.

I was at Best Buy looking for Tom and Jerry on DVD and I ran past it. The whole series on Blueray was about $24-34 bucks. That was a good deal. I almost brought it but didn't know if it was a good investment.

Definitely.  I usually turn to Firefly if I'm feeling a bit down and want a shot of reason, humor and heart.  It's my favorite remedy for when I want smart and comforting with no surprises or wrong turns.  Never fails to make me laugh and cry.  It's my sort of inspiration.
