I nearly died laughing at that. My husband, being a biologist, just rolled his eyes and groaned.

Sometimes, he just doesn't get writer jokes. But then, I don't get most science jokes.

I LOVE Nathan Fillion.  I just love his portrayal of a writer.  I really do.  He's managed to make this character really vulnerable and flawed in just the right ways.

Fortunately my husband and I both get writer jokes and science jokes.

I do however fail in complex math and electronics humor.

And he's stopped watching "House" with me because it's the medical humor that he's missing.

Yay!  Have fun.  Life with DVRs is a beautiful thing.  And now I can just stream it to my computer,  Then during breaks like this when there's nothing first run, I watch a series again.

OK, THAT was funny.

I get physics jokes, since my dad was a physicist.   I just don't always get the biology jokes.    Makes me sad, though, that on the 360 I can't seem to get into that graveyard in Haven.

You don't need to love medical humor to love House. You can just watch House being House.

Right!

The most sacrificed character - Wilson.

If only Alistair had taken a saw partway through Morrigan's staff...he'd be Wilson Worthy.

Wilson is one of those people I just want to give a big hug too. I love House but Wilson is my buddy. <3

Yay for Wilson.  It was a little weird seeing him in the show at first, I had seen him in Much Ado About Nothing (and the Dead Poets Society), so it took some time to get into his new character.  Once I did however, much love.  Man, forget House, it's all about Wilson.

Castle!

http://castletv.net/

I'm a fan of crime shows but I've pretty much given up on the CSI's for being overly preachy and soap opera-ey (and I miss William Petersen something fierce.)

This is a crime show on the basis of Nathan Fillion being a crime writer who hangs out with the police force.  The premise is that his imagination and research skills and connections with people he's written books about (guys in the mob, thieves, etc.) give an edge to solving cases.  Then he uses the experiences to write more books.  The stories are good, the comedy is spot on and I just like the characters bunches based on good writing, lack of aforementioned preachiness (Someone please kill David Caruso - though Supernatural did a good job of burning him in effigy this season - thanks guys! "I am wearing sunglasses at night!  Do you know who does that?  No talent douchebags." - bonus link ) and a general air of good will and humanity.

And the series has already survived its first season - bonus!

Yeah, about CSI, I'm so pissed they got rid of William Petersen, or he left, whatever the circumstances.  He made the show.  Boo.  I haven't even watched it since he left.  I don't watch CSI Miami, I tried, but Caruso get's on my every last nerve.  I want to punch him in the face!  He is a no talent douchebag.  Heh.

I think my final episode was one where Caruso was preaching about how some people just play video games and think they can kill real people because they've become desensitized to reality...

Wait..WHO is desensitized to reality?  WHO?  DAVID?

I can't stand Caruso. If someone took his sunglasses away, he'd be at loss to act.

I had to give up on Cold Case too.  I get sick of the interrogations.   Which is why I absolutely...adore..."The Closer."

I'd always do my imitation of Lily on Cold Case OR David Caruso by saying in an accusative voice.  "Ya like to hurt little girls, don't you...DON'T YOU!"  It's my impression of "the worst interrogation ever."

Not...the way...to trap...a criminal.  Criminy.

So I finally figured out how to take a screenshot (had to switch the control to another key). Anyway, I did so just in time to take this. It was too funny, I had to share.

I clicked on him to see what he would say, he said this, "It's cold in the tower." Hmm...apparently.

...well, now that you mention it I can pick it out.

But yeah, otherwise I guess I'm not looking for it, so I just consider him or her to be random furniture.

I've never seen that dude in the wall before, and I've played the mage origin a gazillion times.  I did come across another fluke several games back.  I was *ESC through the dialogue between Isolde and Teagan and it freaked the computer out.  They became Teagolde.  Heh heh.  Teagan had boobs!  Maybe it'll happen again and this time I can save it.Posted Image

Caruso is, by far, the most annoying actor I've ever seen in CSI.

Acting all "wise" and this passive-aggressive style he has. Honestly, he should just STFU and get rid of his sunglasses. His one-liners are enough to make me punch something. Hard.

When he's trying to act all scary I just go /Facepalm and groan because he's about as scary as a dead fly.

CSI Miami is a crappy show with crappy actors. A  poor spin-off of the original CSI. I will go so far as to say that I  can stand CSI  New  York because of slightly better actors, but it's still nothing compared to the original.

William Petersen (Grissom)  left because of CSI  Miami, I  believe. Or something along those lines.

If gamers were really desensitized by violent games, then why are the people who claim "video games BAD!" still alive? I mean, sure, all the 8 year olds who spend all day fragging people in Call of Duty are going to grow up to be maladjusted douche bags, but I don't think many of them are actually going to join the army.

I don't know why they're alive.  I'm not gonna do anything about it.  I've got better stuff to do.

Maybe they're jealous they ain't worth killin'.

I am old enough to remember when old style pnp Dungeons & Dragons where supposed to be enough to make you a homicidal killer. I still remember the skinny bookworm geeks I used to play with (being one myself too). Oh yeah, those guys were really a menace to society...

The funny thing is kids can have some really startling insights into modern media you never thought about yourself.

I remeber having put my kids to bed, while my wife was working late. So I decided to watch the movie "Gettysburg" on DVD as I knew my wife wouldn't like it anyway. About an hour into the movie my son, then aged 4 couldn't sleep and needed some extra hugging. The movie was just about bearded men talking then, so I let him sit on my knee for a while, but then the shooting started so I had him off to bed.

As I kissed him goodnight I decided to check what he made of what he'd seen so I asked him if he knew that was just a movie and no one died for real. He looked brightly at me and answered "Of course dad. There were black edges on the TV so it wasn't real". He got it; Movie = widescreen and black edges = not scary, News = normal screen = real and scary.

Okay, I have to ask....

Has no one else wondered why, if Morrigan is so skeeved out by Leliana just TALKING about her breasts, she needs to be standing...what five or ten feet away when Leliana and I are getting it on by her fire. Not to mention..WHY are Leliana and I getting it on in Morrigan's tent/shelter thing?

I know this is kinda off the current topic...but it is just too funny.

Because at heart Morrigan is a prude, despite professing differently. Just like anything else about her, she is not what she says.

Morrigan say she wants casual sex with no strings attached and that she has lots of experience and exotic tastes for sex. The truth is that she wants the player for her self and she is lot more straight laced and prude than Leliana. She just does the same "ewww" a lot of guys do when Zevhran makes his move.
