When I was a kid, I used to have this recurring dream in which I'd wake up and everyone in the world was dead except for me.  Everywhere I went, all I'd find were rotting skeletons.  That's about as bad as it ever got for me, and I haven't had any strange or supernatural nightmares like that for over a decade now.  Most nights I go to be so exhausted that I'm asleep as soon my head hits the pillow and I sleep too deeply for dreams.

Those night when I can remember dreaming, it's usually just bizarre nonsense that makes perfect sense to me while I'm dreaming but no sense at all when I'm awake.  Other times, it's disturbing.  I remember a dream in which I committed suicide with a knife.  I can't recall the situation clearly, but the feelings were too intense to forget.  Fear, pain, and then a deep dense of calm as I realized it would be over soon and I'd never have to feel anything ever again.  More recently, I had an intensely violent dream in which I and 2 of my friends went on a GTA style rampage, killing as many people as we could indiscriminantly.  After we made good our escape, there was regret.  Not for what we'd done, but that I could never go home again.  So I started plotting against them, trying to find a way to pin our crimes on them and clear myself.   I am still rather troubled by that one....

A couple years ago I had this unsettling dream.  I'm not sure of all the details, all I remember was that I was being chased by some older man.  He was a murderer and I was like trying to help him overcome his urge to kill or something and he seemed to be earnest in his want to change, but he couldn't fight his urge forever, so he would come after me and I would escape just in time or the dream would start over at a certain point.  I didn't get much sleep that night.  It didn't help that I was home alone in a crappy house in a bad neighborhood, and I had just recently discovered that one of the front windows wasn't a window, but plexiglass loosely nailed.  Kinda wish my roommate had told me about that before I moved in.  Yeah, didn't stay there long.

I like Leliana.  She's just rather accepting of things though.  I guess that's the placid acceptance of the maker's will that I get from her.

Morrigan is more border collie to me.  With the herding behavior and the snapping at heels.

I get on well with Leliana usually. The whole relegious thing is bleh, but whatever, she's entitled to her views. Anyways, point of this is just to say my characters are pretty accepting of things too. Usually because they're fairly genre-savvy and have realised that they are fate's little b***h.

Morrigan: definately a collie. She wants you to do things her way and gets snappy when you don't.

I always thought Morrigan was more like a cat than any dog. Her selfish arrogance is definitly cat-like to me. But then I'm not a dog person so I don't know enough to say.

I think Leliana's saving grace is that she really doesn't try to convert anyone.

I think every character has something I have to sort of avoid in conversation with them.  But I'm that way with real people also.  I know their hot buttons and if I love them, I'll try not to set them off.  If I am not that interested in them, then I assume I don't really care enough to support the person, so I'll leave them and their secrets alone out of respect for human dignity.

I'm not big on treating people like pinatas.  They can keep their candy.  Having them give it to me voluntarily is much more interesting and rewarding than whacking them with sticks.

I see morrigan more as a cat too - antisocial unless she wants to be, a bit "putting on the airs" sort of thing, yet can be loyal to those that she deems worthy. Typical kitty behavior LOL.

Alistair - yes a golden retriever - a big, smelly, silly dog that isn't known for its brains.
Zev - DEFINITELY a Jack Russell - those dogs are loyal to the end. They attach themselves to ONE person in the house, and that's it...Oh...they'll be friendly to everyone else, but whose legs do they curl up in at night? only yours.
Oghren - I see him as an English bulldog - pugnacious, gruffly friendly, more bark than bite when it comes to interactions with others.
Sten - Rhodesian Ridgeback - I like that!
Leliana - she's hard...I would say a poodle (I have a standard myself) because they are intelligent, loving, friendly creatures that will willingly adapt to any circumstance you put them in. They are also loyal and protective, and just love being a part of whatever the family (or group) is doing at the time.
Wynne - not sure about her - she has a bit of ****iness to her that annoys me...I would say border collie for her, only because she always has her nose in everyone else's business, and is trying to 'lead' them down the right path.
Shale - No idea - some big dog? Irish wolfhounds are huge, big hairy grey things - that would fit Shale, no? :-)

Oh...and if Morrigan is a kitty, that would explain why her camp is so far from the others...Posted Image

Having had a bunch of dogs and cats, it's harder for me to assign temperaments to a breed instead of a single animal.

At the moment I have a cat that is the neediest creature on the face of the earth.  And he tries to talk.  We picked him up as a stray when he was half dead and he's definitely neurotic.  He has a ton of different meows from "please" to "now!" to "why?" to "HELLO!  PET!  ME!"  (seriously, that's hilarious.  It's a possibly ten second long sustained MAAAAAAOOOOOOOOWWWWWW! that you get when you first wake up or walk through the door.)  He also watches TV with me and seems to respond to the story.

I also have another cat that either can't stand arguing or can't stand missing out on it and any time I scold the kids, she gets to high ground and meows at me at the top of her lungs.  She pees on laundry and chairs when she's irritated with someone.

So it does get harder and harder to pick a specific breed or dog-like or cat-like choices when they're all so very different.

Morrigan to me isn't really catlike because she's not very good at being quiet.  She's loud, obnoxious and she lacks any level of subtlety.  Cats will also demand affection.  Morrigan doesn't want any affection from anyone.  I guess I'd think of her more as a snake or a bird of prey.  Not really interested in any relationships with humans at all.  Barely considers herself one.  She's already living in that space where her soul doesn't belong to her, so don't get cozy.   I think she sees humans as prey and doesn't bother otherwise.

Well, no one told me how to beat my nightmares. I figured out I had to be strong enough on my own. I always pack a longsword or an uzi in my nightmares now.

I learned to 're-write' the endings.  In rather short order, I started doing that in my sleep, and don't even realize I had a dream heading to nightmare until I wake up and remember the dream and think 'hey, that was a bad turn... thank goodness for that quick shift.'.

What I want to know is, why the heck I am so scared of heights in dreams (and, man, was that one weird dream.  On the other hand... I got down off that tower all by my little self.)

My dreams aren't scary, or at least I never remember scary dreams nowadays, but falling asleep in chair sometimes leads to a weird moment when you are almost awake, but can't move a muscle in your body and that is really, really scary sometimes.

Yes, yes it is!  I had a stint where I would nap and get this.  Dream I am getting up, only to realize it's a dream, cna't move... get up.... oh, dream.... can't move.  ACK someone in the room!, can't move.... dream....

It would take forever, sometimes, to truely wake.

Then one of my almost-asleep dreams involved this incredibly detailed room... and I decided to just go with the flow.

Haven't had (or perhaps just haven't remembered...) it happening since.

Divinity II: Ego Draconis.

First impression: F***ING GAME NEEDS TO F***ING REMIND ME TO F***ING SAVE MORE F***ING OFTEN!

Also, more frequent autosaves would be great. Like, y'know, before I walk into a fight where I will get my butt kicked.

Me: Threesome?

Alistair: Wow. What? Wow.

Me: Threesome!

Alistair: I don't think 'no' is a strong enough word.

Me: But you loved it last time!

Alistair: Have you been at the lyrium again?

Me: Maybe. Why?

Alistair: Um. You do know you're not a mage, right?

Me: OH! Am I an elf today? Do I look like an elf?

Alistair: Is this a trick question?

Me: Trust me, when I'm a human mage, you think this is a great idea.

Alistair: ...

Alistair: That's it. I'm hiding the lyrium stash.

It's hard to not take it personally when he doesn't remember me.  But he just won't have sex up against the pillars in Ostagar and I think that's a missed opportunity.

Ha.  Hahahahahahahahahha.  That is a shame.

PC: Hey hot stuff, wanna go behind the pillar and do the wild monkey dance?
Alistair: Uh...who are you?
PC: Me, you know me.  We've been through so much together.  Fighting darkspawn, killing the Archdemon, making you king and such.
Alistair: Uh...I'm sorry, I don't remember any of that.
PC: How could not remember me?  How could you forget this face?  I mean just because I'm an elf mage, instead of a human noble shouldn't make that much of a difference.
Alistair: I'm going to go over here now.
PC: Fine have it your way, but trust me when I say, you WILL be in love with me before all this is over.  *Muahahahahaha.

Hehe.  I love that movie.

That would be convient.  Maybe some pictures or drawings, you know, to stick with the time period.

Alistair: I'm Alis....
PC: I know who you are, and you know who I am.  Here.  These are some drawings of our adventures together.  Now I know I might look a little different in each one, might even look like I'm a different race in some, but trust me, it's me.  And see here you are.  Yay!
Alistair: Are some kind of soothsayer or something?
PC: Uh...something like that.  So can we go f*** now or what?
Alistair: I think I hear Duncan calling me, *puts hand by his mouth, "Alistair"*.  That's him alright.  Umm... nice to meet...*walks off*.

Awww.

Well, I put him through hell.  I'm being nice.

I'm not even kissin' him until or unless he asks.  I just told him he was handsome and stuff.

And we're taking a nice scenic tour of Ferelden with curlicues and ribbons and picnics.

Even Sten gets more cookies this time.

I suppose I could give Zevran a shot, but...I just don't want to.

I  suppose it's hard for me to really get into the romances when I play a female PC. I can bed Zevran for fun, but I guess my heart just isn't into the deeper parts of the romances and I fail to get involved, so I usually cheat and go for Leliana anyway. It's actually easier to get along with Alistair when I play a guy and can just be his best buddy.

I think also for me it's just that Alistair's plot lines and romance affect what happens at the end the most.  So it makes me the most involved in what's going on.

Some of the other lines are just thin in comparison in a roleplay sense.

Morrigan is thin on content.  Leliana is not really...there for any particular reason, which actually is why she works out as my second pick for romantic involvement.  She's not going to give me any ultimatums.

Zevran just...arrives too late to the party.

Zevran is a good guy, though. A bit lame romance-line but that's it. Honestly, out of all the playthroughs I've done, I've found Zevran to be the one dude that gives me the LEAST hassle of the choices and options I make or pick.

Also, Recidiva, I picked up the Castle-series. Funny show, that. :) Watched a few earlier.

Heh. I think one of Zevran's plot uses is, when I play, to make sure I don't rush romances too fast so my female characters can bed him once before the main romance starts getting jealous...Posted Image

I like Zevran a lot.  But he just reminds me of the gay best friend I go out dancing with.  He's best in the friend zone.

I did try to also reload one game and try a romance with him, but his gift of "here, this is an earring off a dead guy" sorta left me...uninspired.

Oh yay!  It's a lot of fun, I hope you enjoy it!

I'm winding down on my Supernatural play through...I've burned through three seasons and I'm on the fourth.  Going to have to pick new pastures.

Maybe I'll re-watch the first season of Castle.

Heh.  With Alistair and Leliana, you can get pretty much underway quickly.  Both of them can be up in approval pretty fast.  You can buy several gifts for Lel at the random map vendor and Alistair really can be

Considering my game usually goes...Lothering...Soldier's Peak...Sulcher's Pass...Denerim...Redcliffe...Mage's Tower...

That's a lot to get through before even meeting Zevran.  And then his major gifts are in two different ally plot dungeons.  He's a lot of work with very little time to enjoy his company before you're at the end of the game.

Alistair and Leliana are a breeze.

Oh!  Great!  Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

I think Firefly would have to be my favorite all-time series.  And yes, it's a shame that it got canceled so early.  But then again, the characters didn't get ruined as a result.

I will keep you posted. It'll have to be really good to beat Babylon 5 for me though. I love Babylon 5 and I think Londo is one of the coolest characters in any series made. Now if there was a way to make Bioware get the licence for a Babylon 5 game....Posted Image
