We got it for the XBOX before they pulled it. We have yet to run into ANY bugs, so I don't know what they're talking about.

When you do get it, bring Wynne and Alistair. Their banter is too. damned. funny.

Ooh thanks!

That's exactly the kind of 'heads up' that I appreciate.

I read that there was a problem with the specializations. That ones you've already earned will be locked or something.

I went and got a copy of Bayonetta to help pass the time while I wait for the DLC to become available.

First impression: This game is ****ing WEIRD. But then, it was made in Japan. The combat was really frustrating at first, but now that I'm getting the hang of it it's actually getting to be quite fun. I can't make heads or tails of the story. There are way too many cutscenes interruping the flow of the game, and they're all way too long. They also alternate between real animation and a sort of slide show animation. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. You can skip the cutscenes, but when you do it very slowly brings up a menu to ask if you really want to skip it. So far, this has really discouraged me from ever wanting to go back and replay an area I've been through already. Also, every time you get a unique item the game pauses to very slowly bring up an graphic with a brief description of it and ask if you want more details. Another piontless game disruption, in my opinion. Let me get the item and if I want to know more about it, I'll check it out in my inventory later.

So yeah, Bayonetta - Fun combat, but I don't have much good to say about the rest of it so far.

Bayonetta looks way too weird for my tastes. And I have some pretty weird taste in games, I assure you.

Borderlands is a great time-waster.

Lately, I've been going all nostalgia-gamer by the power of Neverwinter Nights. Almost finished a full play through, nearing the end of Chapter 2 of Hordes of Underdark.

I tried NWN2.  Got diseased.  Got stats reduced.  Couldn't move.  Stopped playing.

9 more days? I better sort out the last few achievements on Mass Effect then so I can put that away.

Me: So I wanted to ask if you're feeling better about Marjoline.

Leliana: Come on! Tell me I'm pretty! Come on come on!

Me: No.

Leliana: Tell me I could try to charm you.

Me: This is me, resisting.

Leliana: I love you!

Me: ... WHAT? No. I KNOW I didn't pick any romance options this time! I DID NOT. I avoided them all like the plague!

Leliana: We'll talk about this again soon.

Me: Zeeeeev!

Zev: So I notice you and Leliana have gotten close...

Me: *tears out hair* There is NO. ESCAPE. Screw this. This has GOT to be a glitch.

*reloads*

Leliana: I do not try to charm you because our friendship should be built on trust--

Me: So you're not in love with me?

Leliana: No. But I could be if you--

Me: *runs away*

-----

Me: Leliana?

Leliana: Yes?

Me: Um.... why aren't you in your spot? Why are you standing in front of Sten?

Leliana: What? No. I'm standing right by the fire, see? *holds hands up at Sten and then blows on them*

Sten: Why does she think I am the fire?

Me: *watches Leliana continue to warm her hands in the direction of Sten's chest* I don't know...

Sten: Clearly she has lost what little grip she had on her mind. I could end it quickly for her.

Me: *thinks about it*

Sten: And then I could put an end to the mindless squeaking of that other creature.

Me: The nug. I know.

Sten: I meant Alistair.

-----

Alistair: (approves +2)

Alistair: (approves +1)

Alistair: ...

Me: Fine! Let's go get your mother's amulet. *does Redcliffe adventures* Here!

Alistair: Thank you! I mean it! (approves +7)

Me: +7? PLUS SEVEN? I've seen you approve +25 for that amulet to chicks that aren't even ROMANCING you. You really don't like men, do you?

Alistair: It's got nothing to do with--

Me: You are so full of crap. I'm halfway through the game already and I STILL haven't managed to get you to 100%. You dislike men so much that I'm starting to think you have deep-rooted homophobia, springing from your even-more-deeply repressed attraction to other men.

Alistair: It's not--

Me: Is this because of my relationship with Zevran? Are you jealous?

Alistair: Well, you could pay a LITTLE more attention to me...

Me: I AM! You're critical to every major plot point; how could I NOT? You just don't care very much unless you want to get in my pants.

Alistair: Whaaaat? No. No no. I am -not- that shallow.

Me: You're totally that shallow.

Alistair: Take it back.

Me: *sigh* Fine. I take it back. You're wonderful and amazing and everything that's good and right and just in the world. Actually, you're the center of the whole entire world--no, the universe, and the sun shines out of your backside.

Alistair: (approves +1)

Me: Awesome. Thanks for that, really.

Alistair: Now you're just being sarcastic.

Me: Not at all. In fact, I was just thinking we ought go meet your sister now...

Me: Come ON, Wynne. You know you wanna teach me to be a spirit healer, you KNOW you do!

Wynne: Call me old. Do it.

Me: No. I refuse to play along with the stupid running 'old' jokes.

Wynne: Would you like like to learn how to be a spirit healer?

Me: *sighs* Fine. You're ancient. You're a crone. NOW will you teach me?

Wynne: That was too hostile, child. I disapprove. Bring me more wine.

Me: An ancient, -evil- crone.

Hah!

I never, EVER got Wynne to teach me Spirit Healer...not once.  Personal quests done, plot quests done, approval 100...had to buy the book.

"You're not going to tell me any more about your life at the tower, are you?"

And here I'm tearing out my hair because it's not only difficult for me to figure out how to romance Leliana, but damn near impossible to get her quest. Good thing Far Song is in the game (does anyone actually LIKE that old smith anyhow?). I suppose it doesn't help that I haven't patched yet, but that's so I can keep my Arcane Warriors super-powered. Wynne and spirit healer on the other hand, that's easy for me.

I didn't even know Wynne could teach you spirit healer. Every time I have her in my party, I always do everything I can for her. I go through every single dialogue tree until the only option I have left is "Sorry to have disturbed you," I do her side quest, I get her approval up to 100%, and yet I have never once seen an option to even ask her if she'll teach me. I just assumed it was a specialization that couldn't be learned from party members and bought the book.

Oh well. It's unlocked now, so that's all that matters.

Romancing Leliana is a 3 Step Process

1: Be a nice guy.

2: Talk to her.

3: Humor her.

I don't understand how any can have trouble with it, really, unless there's a glitch in some games. I tend to have her falling all over me even when romancing Morrigan...

Starting the game for the second time, this time as a Female City Elf...

*strategically hides that jar Shianni clocked Vaugh with*

Me: Good morning your gracious, how lovely to see you at my wedding. You'd like to invoke the right of the first night, right? Let's go then, I can't wait. (Oh, and don't bother with any other girl, they're hopeless).

Vaugh: Well that's what I call a proper respect.

/the next day.

Shianni: Are you... all right? Did he hurt you?

Me: Nothing an elfroot and few hours in a bath won't cure.

Shianni: I still can't believe you just went with him. I should have cut his throat!

Me: Don't worry honey, he'll get what's coming to him, Howe will make sure of that.

Shianni: Who's Howe?

Me: Never mind. Now here, I kind of borrowed this 40 gold from the Arl's; buy yourself a house or something. And if guards come looking for me, tell 'em I left the city with that nice Gray Warden that came by yesterday.

/much, much later, in Arl of Denerim's dungeon.

Me: Well hallo there, your gracious. How nice to see you all locked up. You know what? You totally ruined my first time for me, and I'm infamous for holding grudges.

/later in the court.

Me: ...And then he ran into my knife. He ran into my knife ten times.

He had it coming! He had it coming, I tell ya! *Insert maniacal laughter*

:D

(Positively my favorite line of the whole awesome song. I love how the woman said "teeeen times" with such smugness/wistfulness in her voice. I betcha she enjoyed it too. Feast of The Fallen, perhaps? :P).

Deidre Goodwin is great.  I'm a musical fanatic.  I was so happy to see the remake done with so much love.  "Oooh!  Look, she played Velma on Broadway!" and  "Oh look!  It's Chita Rivera!  She played the original Velma on Broadway!"

That dungeon is the best on non-city elf playthroughs. You get to murder Vaughn and Howe back-to-back ^_^

My father loves that musical. He and Mom went to see the Fosse original on Broadway. I grew up on that soundtrack. We saw the revival (minimalist set) and it was incredible!

Why does watermelon candy have more watermelon flavor than watermelon does?
