According to initial console numbers... and good overall standings in first few weeks on PC digital distribution charts... I think, and that's solely my personal opinion although based on some serious knowledge of the whole market/industry, that DA will reach 2 million sold by the end of the year without a problem.

Not to be so obviously blatent, but if you look at the dev post stickies you would know this game exceeded any numbers even mentioned in this thread. They had to rush to push up new server clusters to handle the load of people on the game and even their "plan B" backup was swallowed up within the launch time and they had to rush even more clusters out exceeding any high number predictions they thought possible. So did DAO succeed? Ummm ya, probably will be the top selling title this year if not second to MW2 on pc sales, not sure about the consoles, more people tend to go for fps there. In the end what does this mean for DAO? It means more moduals, expansions etc, so this is great news for us fans no doubt.
edit: also I forgot to mention did you guys allready forget that on launch day 2 it was sold out at allot of stores? I know around my area chicago it was, took a week to see more come in. Oh and on another topic look at the title "The Witcher" which was a silent hit then became the number 1 seller for the year, rpg's have an audiance and a definit profitable outcome (IE Mass Effect even) that can out sell even the largest fps, just takes time for the word to get out there.

Regarding the wii, it dominates in consoles sold but not games sold--which is where the real money is. The vast majority of wii owners play first party games, wii play (the bundled game) being the most owned (duh).
There's a larger selection of titles on the PS3 and Xbox360 and they sell more games.
But if you are talking about profit, then of course Nintendo is coming out on top--if you are mostly selling 1st party games, accessories, and a system with a massive margin (sells at the same cost as competitors with probably half or less the production price), you are reaping a ton of benefits because there is no middleman.
