ME3 may have had the worst ending ever, but it's still the best game I've ever played. Shame it's come to this, a great misstep...You ready to play ball, Bioware? =/

People don't deserve refunds

Really? 60 dollars for a game, don't you think they deserve a product that is to their liking?
Not to metion those that brought the collectors edition like me. People deserve refunds if the product purchase was defective, fasely advertised, etc.

No.  That is the risk of going to a movie, purchasing an album or book or game... you aren't guaranteed satsifaction.  I've had plenty of games that I didn't enjoy but didn't whine for a refund.  I accepted the risk.

And really.. ME3 is still an awesome game that might even have the ending some are clamouring for at some point.  O wait... that requires patience, something almost no one has anymore.

What about the fact that we were LIED to?

You know, all those statements of "vastly different endings" and "all the choises you made throughout the games affect the ending"?

Which will be a DLC that you have to pay for..... which is just WRONG!
Just like how we found out the "From Ashes" DLC was indeed a part of the main game, but we where told it was not.

We are buying games that are only 90% complete.

I am not returning ME3 but I am glad that Amazon is allowing people to because we were lied to and we did NOT get the product we where supposed to get.

Have you guys seriously considered what this means? EA has been fairly hands off with Bioware because what Bioware has been doing has been working in terms of making money. The interactive story and dialog is an extra expense when it comes to making games that slows development time and production costs. This might very well cause Bioware to be another generic fantasy rpg studio.

Also, KoToREffect3, can I use your sig?

I've been uncomfortable with the review bombing and other tactics that the Retake group has been using, and supporting serious damage to Bioware finally crosses the line.

Hey look... world's smallest violin playing "my heart bleeds for you"...

There is a market for a well made RPG.  Always has been, always will be.  Bioware can choose to meet that need or rush crap out the door and call it ART.

So the attitude from the so-called "Retake" group is actually to get a refund, and torch any chance of Bioware ever making another game. And here I thought they were trying to make the situation better by giving constructive criticism about the ending to help Bioware improve, not try to kill the company. Well that's it folks, I'm going to join those folks who still want a simple better ending rather than destroy the company behind my favorite gaming series.

If Bioware continue down the road DA2 and ME3 show they are on, good luck to them but I will shop else where.  Simple as.

Wait, what?  You're complaining that people can return a game?  Really?  How the hell does that in any way effect you?  And BTW, you CAN return books and you CAN get a refund at the movies if you ask for it.  And a CD cost a quarter of what a game costs so who cares if you can return it or not though most big box stores even let you do that?  Also, as consumers we are not required to "accept risk" on a product.  The product has to deliver what it is advertised as.

Had they kept with that theme all the way to the end, I bet this "storm" would have never caught wind in the first place.

The game is amazing 99% of the time, a full refund is a bit much.
Too bad the ending sullies the whole experience. (probably why ppl are returning it).

Nevertheless add it to the list of war assets.

Doing long term damage to Bioware isn't my goal. I can't speak for anyone else, but seeing as they haven't seen fit to give us anything solid to go on this is the only recourse many people may feel like they have, they aren't satisfied with the product they purchased, and Bioware haven't given any indication that they intend to fix that, so more power to the people who are getting their refunds. Sadly, since I purchased my copy on Origin that option isn't available to me or I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Seems fair.

Also another nail in the coffin of the whole 'it's art' bollocks. This is a product, and it was falsely advertised.

The conclusion is far and away the most pivotal part of the story, it's parting impression colours the entire rest ofthe experience, and the miserable, nonsensical railroaded ending we got, that is completely different in tone and execution to the rest of the game, has undeniably ruined Mass Effect for the vast majority of customers. It's why we have this massive backlash.

Games are too expensive to jerk us around like this, and the fact it has zero replay value for alot of people and didn't do what it was promised it would means I'm glad we're getting the option of being reimbursed. It's an unsatisfactory product, so it's only fair.

People bought a product and didn't care for it. You can get a refund for other products for the same reason. Care to explain why they don't deserve a refund beyond simply trolling for the hell of it?

This really could be a new day for the game industry. Maybe they will finally wake up and see that some of us are tired of them releasing unfinished/rushed games that we have to pay to beta test.

One can hope.

I actually wanted to keep my spare CE, it's still a great game. Thinking about returning it now that it is possible. Just so EA has another Customer Returned ME3 message in their inbox. :P

Guys! Please be civil and level-headed. Respect others opinions and don't cause thrse flame wars. Someone else's choice to get a refund or not is their business only.

I'm sorry, but no. Canadian consumer protection laws protect against this. That is, false advertising. If I am promised that in the box is apples, I get home and it's oranges, I'm entitled to a complete refund, no matter what it says in the fine print when I purchased the box. BW did lie about what the endings would be, and thus lied about what the product would be. That the ending causes such a loss in value of the entire line of products for so many can easily be held in defense of demands for a full refund.

And I suspect Amazon and other retailers know this. They're getting ahead of the wave and proving that they do care about their customers.

That is very cool. If i had the option to get a refund. for this game I would return it. I guess thats what I get for buying a PC copy thru gamestop. All i can do, and what I WILL Do is not buy any future games from Bioware and I will work hard on avoiding EA games, altough sadly that is challenging since they have such a big foot print.

BioWare must do something about this now. When a retailer like Amazon takes this serious action, it is more than a mere problem for Bioware.

Hopefully they will do something in time to save the series and themselves.
