Makes me more of an Amazon fan that I already am, even though I never considered it their responsibility to do this.

While it's a valuable "war asset" for those holding the line, it's also extremely bad news for a game and series I love - if this persists or others follow then suit we may lose that which we once loved altogether.
I was dissatisfied by the ending and would prefer a new one, but the game was not so awful that it deserves this fate. In reality it was actually a brilliant game which stumbled at the last hurdle!
It's not some racing horse we should be putting down!

don't know if this has been shared yet, but dang o_O
Clearly Amazon understands "knowing your customers" is a core pillar of its business.

Flood gates have opened, what will EA do about plugging the leak? Let BW finish the product I imagine. BW is sitting back watching this unfold all with troll faces and I told you so's when EA comes back to them.
You can't blame EA for this one, sadly. There are design documents going back months that demonstrate the lead writer and executive producer had this ending in mind with no input from EA.
If anything EA will be the one pushing for (paid) DLC to fix it.

We like to poo on EA a lot and perhaps I am biased because I once actually worked there, but they are not the evil overlords they are made out to be. Yes some there are just there to make money, but most of them were gamers making games.
They have even been known to release (for free mind you) a patch to a game that I thought was weak but not as full of bugs as I had heard it made out to be. That being the infamous Ultima 9. This patch was in the form of a brand new install disc mailed for free to all owners of the game. I know of this case because not only did I have ultima 9, I was working there when they did it.

This is just like when the NGE came out for Star Wars Galaxies.
Yep. I quit that game as soon as NGE installed. That game never recovered from that.

Yeah... cause all regions had it two weeks ago... o right... they just got it Thursday. Oops.
Seriously, 2 weeks is not that long especxially given the release schedule they had. Amazing what this world considers patient anymore...
Two weeks is plenty of time given the outrage. Plus, the window to return is only 30 days. I'm sorry, but if I sell a product, and 90% of the customers of said product are up in arms, and donating tens of thousands of dollars to a charity in protest, I don't need 2 weeks to respond, hell I don't even need two days.
Bioware thinks they can just ride this out, fine I accept that, but I don't have to accept being lied to, and sold a product that did not meet it's marketing.

And you all need to re-buy the game to see a very unique ending based solely on your personal choices

Why do I get the feeling that someone high up at Amazon didn't like the ending either? I wonder if I can get my CE for PC refunded. Hopefully Bioware will give us a clearer indication of whether they're working on an ending dlc before the 30 days are up.
Jeff Bezos didn't like the ending.

Its good that people who want to return it can, but I'm enjoying this game too much to return it. I'm not going to let the last 5 minutes of the trilogy stop me enjoying the preceding 90 hours or so. I can just fill in everything after Anderson's death with my imagination.
But for anyone that wants to return it, this is a nice gesture form Amazon.

I agree. I'm sort of happy to see this on one hand ... becuase I think it will really make EA wake up, and pay very serious attention.
However, I fvcking love MASS EFFECT and this is truly depressing. I get this image of a bunch of copies of ME3 being bulldozed into a landfill and it makes me sad.
I want to go back to loving this game, and the whole series. I want to be able to support ALL DLC that comes out over the next year. Unfortunately, that's not an option unless they repair the ending.
