mage, spell combinations usually do insane amount of damage. Think my horror is 140 on average,

not always true I've seen a few rogues out damage a mage but it was dps not just a single hit. Just have to spec it right. @h warrior I've seen like 187 idk if it was a crit though. Archers arrow of slaying does a lot of damage usually a mage killer. I would have to load my game to check my specs but mages & archers do damage in the hundreds later on. For the most part its a mage but you can get a dual wielding warrior who will do a lot more damage same for a good rogue. Mages are better for buffers & just healing support.

Arrow of Slaying can hit pretty high. I had Leliana do just under 500 once. The damage is kind of erratic though, other times I've had Alistair hit harder. >.>

I should probably clarify that I wouldn't build a character around Arrow of Slaying. It has a very long cooldown and archers are quite difficult to play as a PC.

mages with mana clash are probably the heaviest hitters, my highest recorded seem 3k but that is vs mages/daemons and using hexes to boost dmg

against all mob the entropic death combo can deal around 1k for a char optimized to use it, but again you need hexes and well... is a combo, so it requires a bit of time

i heard Arrow of Slaying can put out big numbers too, but have not yet played with an archer and i generally set up Leliana for support so no idea

How did you get your Arrow of slaying so high? I’ve only got 100-150 per shot against Emmissaries mostly.

Entropic Death (Death Hex on a mob standing in a Death Cloud) is probably the highest single target attack a mage can use. if the mob is debuffed with Vulnerability you can probably get into the thousands with that. the only other way to get huge shots like that would be a gigantic Mana Clash hit on an emmisary that had a huge mana pool.



archers can arrow of slaying for a couple hundred sometimes, depends on the target.



melee can probably never get a bigger hit than like 200 if you had a two handed warrior crit with a Mighty Blow at high level against a 0 armor target.

I've also seen mana clash do 4k damage on casters, especially used early on when their mana pool is full.

So, erm.. Which stats do you boost to get arrow of slaying to do like 500? Dex? Must you have other talents purchased like master archer? What other conditions will affect the damage? My Leliana is at level 16 now.

Gah on my winxp at the moment so can't check to be sure but 700+ with arrow of slaying

I've heard Arrow of Slaying doing damage in excess of 1k. The talent has a small chance of instantly killing the target (low-levels) no matter the amount of hit points, so average damage is obviously much lower than that. Mana Clash is just insanely brutal vs. spellcasters though. Sometimes I wonder whether Bioware beta tested this game at all.

Just use the Berserker's Final Blow ability. Damage = weapon damage + remaining Stamina

Can generally do around 500 a pop with arrow of slaying, max is like 800 or so for me

AoS is very easy to get high damage with since using it without much optimisation will eventually net you 500+ damage every once in a while. (Most of the time it's less, but still good.)

Mana Clash is horrible for comparison purposes since it only works against casters. When it works, the damage it does depends on the enemy's mana, so the more difficult the enemy is, the higher the damage. You can get insane numbers that way but only very very rarely.

Comparing greatest single hit damage doesn't work very well anyway. There are skills that translate to multiple hits that aren't considered one hit, for example.
