You could use Gibbed to modify your ME2 file and flag Kaiden instead of Ashley.

In ME 2 starting a new femshep defaulted to Kaiden as the VS. While I haven't tried it myself, I imagine the same would hold here.

If you start a new ME3 with no import you get to choose who died on Virmire.

Now I have to suffer through talking to Kaidan who I hate because he has Carth's voice and I hate Carth ... but my Reave/Cluster Grenade Adept build depends on it!
