I'm new to Mass Effect and I just started an Adept. I'm planning to take Liara and Tali/EDI with me for most of the time. What powers are recommended for Insanity (and lower difficulties) for maximum damage (biotic explosions, I guess?)?
I'm now lvl6 but haven't spend a single talent point for any crew member.
Recommended powers for squad mates and adepts?

Liara is good to have around if you dont want to set up all of your own combos, and you can easily combo without help with the low times on Pull, Singularity, and Throw.
Javik is actually better at the combo game though because of how Dark Channel works. I have to admit that using Dark Channel as combo starter is nuts because you can start chucking Throw and get multiple explosions due to Dark Channel going to find a new target as soon as its current target dies.
I tend to run Javik/EDI or Liara/Garrus depending on the weapon coverage I want.

- Liara - focus first on Warp and Singularity, then Pure Biotic
- EDI - Overload, Incinerate and Unshackled AI
- Tali - Energy Drain, Quarian Machinist. After that, your choice
What I would recommend, though, is using the team of Liara and Garrus. Not only can Garrus also use Overload (the key to taking down shields) but he can do lots of damage with his weapons and Concussive Shot.
Still, the key to your success is going to be how well you use biotic combos. By that, I mean using different biotic powers on the same target. If Liara uses Singularity and pulls an enemy up into the air, your Warp attack will do MUCH more damage on them than it would another enemy.
The best way for you to attack will be Singularity (Liara), Warp (you) - combo 1 -, Warp (Liara), Throw (You) - combo 2-. Just remember that you don't get combos from identical attacks, like Warp (you), Warp (Liara)
