Katana X. The only one with a decent balance of damage, accuracy, and weight. And it's a normal hitscan weapon so a laggy host won't mess with its performance, as can happen to GPS and Graal.

Meh, no point in using anything beside claymore. You want a shotgun to have some enemy gone, now. Claymore is good for these kind of encounters, whatever is in front of it, it's dead.

Sure, gps and graal is nice with their stagger and whatnot, but with the same effort I can just oneshot the enemy.

Are you talking about one shotting on gold?

I would have said Claymore, but I'm not so sure now. It's a bit like Krogan heavy melee, really. If you can take out whatever is in front of you in one-shot, it's brilliant. If not, well, get ready to take a lot of fire. On Silver it's beastly, on Gold...not so much. Mine is Level 3 and I have trouble one-shotting Centurion-class enemies. The reload is so long that I would be better off with another weapon that can do more damage in the same space of time.

I'm trying to find this weapon now, but to be honest will probably take the Falcon and Widow combination on my Krogan Sentinel. Cooldown is irrelevant as I have no powers on cooldown, so I can take whatever weapons are most effective. Quite liberating when all my other classes seem to be stuck to their pistols due to CD!

Also, haven't got the Disciple yet, but I noticed in a game last night that it seemed to stagger with every shot. Is that right or did I imagine it?

For whatever reason, the piercing mod doesn't seem to let GPS shots pierce Guardian shields. This makes me a bit wary of the mod working at all.

I like the GPS and Graal a lot, though they both use projectiles that seem to have a certain amount of transit time. They're both also pretty accurate at longer range, especially with the choke.

Claymore does such crazy damage, you can drop shielded enemies on higher difficulties with ammo/mods and headshots. I find that amusing.

I really like the Disciple because of its weight, but the GPS is pretty amazing.

Yes it staggers on every shot and is the lightest shotty.  Great shotty for Vanguards & other biotics.  I use it with my human sentinal since I have biotic artillery from distance, then the Disciple for when baddies surprise me up close.

geth shotgun, because it even follows the enemy when fully charged. (aka as small tracking system)
and can damage even thru shielder units..

If I'm going for power cooldowns, the Disciple all the way.  The firing sound is awesome and the reduced weight is great.

Masses of enemies: Geth Plasma.  This thing clears out a hallway like its a rocket.

Infiltrator CQC: Claymore.  Yeah it's heavy but 1 shotting everything but an elite on Gold is entertaining.

I like the Claymore, mostly because the sound and feel of it firing is awesome. Most weapons "feel" very weak when you fire them, make these tinny little sound like they're shooting paper clips.

The Claymore however, goes "boom" and it is satisfying to see when it lands on the enemy.

I used it mainly on my Krogan Soldier.

I run my salarian infiltrator with a gps. I've tried all the shotguns and the gps is by far the best imo due to its damage, accuracy and synergy with cloak.

I'm curious, I picked up a Wraith last night out of a spectre pack but I haven't seen it mentioned here... does the wraith kind of suck, or is it just so rare most people haven't used it?

the problem is the piercing mod only works with bullets, not giant spikes or balls of plasma. Same thing with the AR piercing mod and the falcon.

Geth Plasma Shotgun. FTW

Can't tell you how many times this beast has made the difference in matches. Especially with a Krogan.

It's not that it sucks, it's just anything the Wraith can pull off there's a different shotgun that can do it better.

Graal with damage and Accuracy mods for Bronze and Silver. Most things can be killed in a single shot, and it doubles as a sniper rifle if you are host and are good with movement prediction.

Haven't made up my mind for Gold.

Am i the only person that likes the Disciple? great damage, modderate accuracy, staggers opponents if you hit them with enough shot, and weighs the least of all the shotguns. Number one choice for a shot gun on any character im going to be using powers on. which, lets face it, is 4/5 of the classes. and soldier hardly counts because it doenst really have any that need regen.

Sentinel: Claymore
Soldier/Infiltrator: GPS or Graal
Vanguard/Adept/Engineer: Disciple

The Disciple. It is really lightweight and pretty accurate so it is good at a longer range than most shotguns and all the pellets hit most of the time so it still does comparable damage to the slightly more powerful and heavier shotguns like the Katana or Scimitar.

Nothing quite like a Vanguard with a good shotgun and high cooldown as well. Being able to Charge/Nova AND shotgun the enemies that are left standing? Yes please! Or an Infiltrator that can cloak, shotgun real close and cloak again really quickly? Hell yeah!

N7 Crusader, if you managed to pick it up. Otherwise a GPS or Katana X.

The best shotty is the GPS.
