Actually, I avoided anything ME3 related before finishing the game and I was equally as disappointed as I would've been if I knew what they promised. I would return my game, but it's impossible in my country.Megakoresh wrote...

Casey Hudson and Mike Gamble simply LIED to us about how and what content the game would present. 16 different endings? We would do it any other way? The choice will not be simply A,B,C?
And that's why I don't read the news. The fact of the matter is the OP argues that ME3 is a bad game. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of reasons to refund the game. But obectively speaking 99,5% of Mass Effect 3 was very, very good.
As I said, there are plenty of reasons to demand a refund, but "Mass Effect 3 is a bad game" is not one.
I returned my ME3 on Origin! (And other how to return guides.)

Sorry, but this is low. Even if you massively disliked the ending, you probably had fun with it over 15 hours (I played it for 38) before that 10 minute ending disappointed you. It's appalling to me to disregard the hard, collective work that they put into this game, especially given how great it is beside the ending and that it made even them cry during developement. Taking back your money after having completed the game is like spitting them in their face. I simply cannot agree with such a drastic action.

EA has just realized that they will gain good will by taking back a falsely advertised game. Which they now have. Bioware has decided to get cute.

It's appalling to me that the writers would take all that work and throw it out of the window just like that. Because that's how the ending feels. I think people deserve refunds on a game that retroactively diminishes their enjoyment of previous two titles, even if you don't feel like that.hagren wrote...

Huh I just realized. Bioware completely screwed over the franchise, lied to the fanbase, then tried to ignore and minimize fan protests.
EA is willing to refund customers who were not satisfied and felt they had been mislead about the content before purchasing the game.
EA is coming out of this looking better than Bioware. I'll say it again, EA looks better right now than Bioware. People give EA to much flak, they aren't that bad of a company. At least they try to keep their customers happy.

Just be polite and give them the information they require on the help desk and they will issue you a refund.
Thanks t_i_e_!
This does post EA in a very good light in my opinion... even if they allowed the game to be released in this sorry state.
Bioware on the other hand, I will not be doing buisiness again....

Honestly think getting a refund for something that you've played through and loved nearly all of is pretty low...like eating a meal and then demanding a refund because it wasn't as pleasing as you thought it would be. I mean i personally despise the ending but would never ask for a refund on something that i've already gone through.
When the last bite of my meal is an actual turd, I would expect a refund.

I don't plan on getting a refund. I want the game fixed, no more, no less. If I get a refund, I'm in no moral position to ask for any changes.
Neither will I return my copy of the game! The game is awesome -- all the way up to the ending that is. And yeah, I can't replay right now because I can't face the ending... But -- I want to continue to believe in BioWare.
They gave us ME1 and 2 -- so they messed up in ME3 in the last 10 minutes... I honestly believe they will do something to fix this. (Ok, maybe I am just an optimist who is bound and determined to be betrayed a second time but... ) for me returning the game would be like admitting defeat.
I'm not ready to give up!!! I am going to fight this battle until BioWare states they have no intention of fixing the issue. Even then? I may still hammer at them! I'm stubborn and determined to
HOLD THE LINE!
For as long as I need to!
I LOVE the Mass Effect Series and I am not letting go until I have no options left!!!

Yeah, I've actually found broken glass in the bottom of my plate once, after I was most of the way through the meal. They took it back, brought me a new one, and then had the entire meal (for all 4 people present) on the house, all without me even needing to ask.
That is good customer service. Same was what EA is doing now. Bioware is the incompetent Chef who screwed up every meal in the resturant. EA is the owner who makes sure everyone gets a refund.
One more time, I am ore inclined to trust EA than Bioware at this point. That is not a good sign for Bioware.

I admit I won't be able to really enjoy another playtrhough until the ending is fixed and will continue to hold the line, but I'm keeping my copy.
Also, if too many people return the game, the price could drop further and EA/Bioware might decide to cut their losses and forget about coming out with a new ending.

I just returned my copy on Orgin! (How to below rant.)
I suggest all people who dislike the end to do the same.
-Unless you really think there is hope of a good patched in ending.
I'm going to give the money to the Child's Play charity and I feel as if I've damn well held the line.
I feel like I might buy it again if Bioware can produce a good and well reviewed ending. Other wise at this time Bioware has lost my business forever. I'll just borrow any of their games.
How to:
1) Open Orgin, not Mass Effect 3.
2) Login
3) Click the white question mark near the top right.
4) Window will open. Near the top edge of the window named 'Orgin Help' click 'Live Chat'
5) Window will open saying please wait while we connect you to an agent in India.
6) Greet your agent kindly and ask them how their day is. Tell them you want to return a product that a company made that did not have what was advertised in it.
-At this point I got disconnect by an agent (read more strangeness below.) but the next agent helped and refunded me without a word more
-If you get denied at this point I suggest you persist with reasons why and kindness towards your agent
7) They might ask for order# and the last four digits of your credit card (I work in retail and this is a common way to attach a customer to a receit / account.)
8) Receive refund in 5-7 days (in my case by credit card)
Strangeness: I'm not sure if its related to the agent but when I was talking to the first agent named Manik I was asked my email account and purchase #. Then I was kicked off Orgin because some one logged into my account!!!! I logged in again and got kicked off in 20 seconds. This happened four times. Then I went in and change my password and it stopped. Write in bold in reply if this happens to you!!!!
Customer survey rolled into my email soon after. Asked how they could improve? I wrote:
Dragon Age 2, Stat Wars: The Old Republic and Mass Effect 3 were bad games. I refuse to do any more business with Bioware and advise my friends like wise. I will also not buy Electronic Arts products as well unless well reviewed BY PLAYERS.
Bioware can regain my trust by making a free and proper ending to Mass Effect 3. If its well reviewed then I will buy back Mass Effect 3. Until then I will borrow all Bioware games from now on that attract my attention.
EA's purchase of Bioware has killed a great company. Now its dragged through the dirt.
List of broken promises.
Literally 95 % of the game was a masterpiece, yet you will get a refund because of the ending?
Hell no, I'd rather keep my hopes up and wait for an ending DLC.

If their first DLC is some stupid weapon pack or some event prior to the ending, then they can kiss goodbye to I don't know how many customers.
I'm willing to give you time, Bioware. But everyone's patience has a limit.
