Hey guys i got this game a few days ago and am loving it so far. I have a few questions if you have the time.

First off, As i've been playing, i've come across 2 (i guess i would say) 'boss' fights that i for the life of me could NOT beat. So for these fights, i lowered the difficulty from normal to easy.

Now 2 questions come out of this. 1. by doing this, do i get less exp from killing the beast? 2. Are there any tips i could get to make my squad better?

I love the game, but i don't like lowering the level to beat a part, i feel as though i'm pussing out. But i also hate failing soo many times.

Thanks!

I would need some specifics like what build your character and squad mates are and what fights you had trouble with.

I'm currently using my guy as a rogue, alistair, Morrigan, and Leliana and a ranger. My first battle that i switched to easy was fighting that demon thing at the top of the tower during the first huge fight.

I'm currently trying to kill witherfang. I'm in their castle trying to kill this dragon. All of my characters are lvl 7. I trying using morrigans cold resistance mode and keeping her and Leliana back while Darrian and Alistair meleeing. I just can't do it.

The Ogre at top of tower, really your first boss type encounter since your at a low level..that was tough. I had to try a few times. The area makes it tougher cos, nowhere to run back to to change the setting. Most of the fights later you can lure the enemies out away from their ideal setting where the developers staged the fight.

Level 7 and your in the forest huh? Have you done the Circle Tower yet? That's a good one to do first, because during that quest you level a couple times I believe, but also during the Fade part of the Tower..you get to bump all your stats by a lot and it's not through leveling, just bonuses you find. That will help also.

ok, i'll walk away from this spot for now. This circle tower you talk of, is this to the west of Lothering?

Also i don't know this for sure but form my personal experience it seems this way. If you lower difficulty you lose xp & the tier a drop item will be. I get way better drops on nightmare.

I went there after Redcliff. As part of the Redcliff quest to try and save the kid conner. Think you can do it before though..Ive only played through once so far. So I did Redcliff (except for the Urn), than I did Circle Tower, Forest, than Dwarfs. After that I finished the Urn and went to Denerim..but that's just me.

But I've seen others suggest trying to do the tower soon because of all the stat bonuses you get. I just got lucky and decided to go there early. lol

Before you leave Elvs/forest load up on Elf Root at the merchant. Than you can get flasks from the dwarf in your camp. Have Morrigan make a lot of Lesser Healths. For regular Healths you need recipe of course and Distiller agent, which you can also get from the Dwarf in your camp.
