Since this is sort of Cannon, this Starchild. Well I think the StarChild only appears in a form that Shepard would recognize. However who is this Catalyst? Obviously it has been around for millions of years, let's say 37 million years ago. In Mass Effect 2 when you board the Derelict Reaper, the Illussive Man says it was a dead Reaper from a war when Mammals took their first step onto land!

Some people have said the little boy that you see in the beginning was a hallucination. I think they are wrong in this claim because on another playthrough I notice the boy's picture on the Memorial Wall in the refugee camp down in the docking bays. Stating "Last seen on Earth".

Now I did some calculations from what the StarChild has said. Given the Derelict Reaper was part of the StarChild Control. It has been responsible for destroying the galaxy 740 times. 37 Million years divided by 50 thousand years. Now this intelligence to make this determination that life should be wiped out every 50 thousand year had to be created. Yet by whom or what?

I am curious now how BioWare will explain this StarChild now that we know it has been responsible for the mass genocide of every species for millions of years! Now it isn't about the reapers anymore. Shepard agains't the StarChild. Well again I think the StarChild may have another form? I am just speculating at this moment but feel free to share your thoughts.

I would just ask you all not to bash the concept over the ending. As much as I didn't favor the ending, I have faith that BioWare can change that!

The starchild is Biowares explanation to the existence of the Reapers. Too bad it just adds more question without answering anything.

Humm I guess that's why it was never mentioned in DA2.

Who knows, who cares. I wish that character was cut from the game.

Why would the StarChild say it would be okay to destroy the reapers?

For the same reason his solution to the problem of synthetics killing organics was to create synthetics to kill organics?

He's Aaron Littleton. Being born on The Island changed him in ways nobody could have anticipated, culminating in a metamorphosis into a weird child-energy-thing. Wiping out civilization every 50,000 years and then trolling the hell out of people by explaining his reasons for doing so in some form of insane squirrel logic is just what he does for fun.

I think likely they'll just pass it off as misguided AI. I got some uncomfortable impressions that maybe they really were going to go with some all-out transcendent being, but I'm hoping it was just the Citadel itself.

Obviously, somebody created it, but at this point, would it even matter? They're long gone, probably because they created the synthetic (the Citadel) who killed all the organics who now kills organics so they don't create synthetics who kill the organics.

No idea. He's just our new enemy now, apparently. The Reapers were his little pawns. Great.

Thank you, that's what this situation reminds me of! I never forgave them either. I haven't been able to watch that show since.
