The problem is not only that the end is bad because it is against everything mass effect represented for most of the fans. It is also a huuuge problem in terms a replaying the games. 1-3. It's like a project in the real world somehow. If playing the series you "work" towards a goal that rewards you for putting up with the effort. Now I for instance am not able to do another playthrough without thinking "Why the heck should I invest my time if I can't affect the outcome against all odds?"
It feels more like watching passively a movie then be part of what especially the mass effect series WAS about: Interaction and influencing the game environment / story. I really don't understand why they didn't invest a few more months, heck I would have preferred waiting another year even - to have a proper conclusion and outcome that is based on the players choices!
It goes even farther then that: If they want to throw in another ME-game that takes part as a prequel or during the ME-3 time... why play it since you already know you are not really changing / contributing anything in the end?
What is your opinion on this? Would you buy another game that preceeds the current ME-3 ending and play it?
The end in relation to future mass effect games
