Yeah, because retreat was such a viable option, right? Look how successfully it turns out if you fail to rescue Koris and a sizable portion of the Civilian Fleet tries to flee. It's not like they get slaughtered or anything, right?Spartas Husky wrote...

If I was in charge of a fleet, I wouldn't risk waiting for three people to exit the enemy ship which, for all I know, could have its weapons come back online at any minute.Violent_Lucidity wrote...
What game were you playing? Because it sure wasn't Mass Effect 3. You'd think that maybe Gerrel
could have waited until you were out of the dreadnought before he signaled the fleet to fire on it, but I guess that's the only way it could have been done.
Regardless, even if the call had been unambiguously wrong, assaulting the leader of a fleet you've been sent to recruit for your cause is still horrificly dumb. At best, you've let off some steam; at worst, you've caused a significant diplomatic incident as well as made an enemy who most certainly won't hesitate to fire on you if a similar situation comes up.

The quarians wellbeing is his top priority just as much as Tali or Koris, I'm not going to punch the guy for doing his job.
I believe Koris' methods and actions were stronger but Gerrel's are understandable.

What with your attitude man.
The option was vialble to shut down after the reaper signal had been destroyed. As legion then explained the geth were under temporary distress until the short range signal was in place. So during that period the geth had reverted back to the normal selfs.
Han also states that the geth have reorganize and are now engandering the fleet.
So you can save your ridiculous attitude and pay attention to the dialogue. There was a window of opportunity for the Quarians to punch through Geth lines and flee from the system.
A window he lost by concentrating on destroying the Dreadnought rather than escaping.

I can't punch him for shooting the Geth. Not after they sided with the Reapers.
No. Because I told Gerrel to counterattack as soon as I got the dreadnought's shields down. Why would I punch him for following the battle plan?
My strategic plan from the beginning once I found they had been successful in the war up to the point of the reaper signal was figuring out a way of destroying the reaper emitting the signal, destroying it, and winning the war, then delivering the Quarian fleet to Hackett.
Mission successful.

Wait wait wait. The Geth flaship is 30% bigger than an average dreadnought. But the destiny ascension is 4 times larger than an average dreadnought.S.A.K wrote...

And yes, she's almost purely Paragon, but she's a soldier. You stick to the plan, get civilians out of the way, and *generally try to avoid friendly fire*.

Gherel was told to retreat once the ship was disabled. I save their a** and he decides to go off script and fire. He risked killing an ally and a guy instrumental in the larger Reaper War because of his little war with the Geth. This would be like risking killing someone important in fighting WWII because of a border skirmish.
Further, if not for Legion, Tali and I may have floated off into space and likely died. This dude is luckly I don't put a bullet in his f**king head and then say, "I am a Spectre b*tch." What the hell are the Quarians going to do? They have spent 300 years getting f**king by the Council and they will shut the hell up and take it because if not then they will die.

Even if you debate that it wasn't misguided, he was being directly reckless with the lives of his people, almost blackmailing them to help him instead of getting them to safety.
