Well as the title says my loading screens get progressively longer as i play the game longer. After playing for about an hour i found myself sitting for about 2-3 minutes just to get to lothering or other areas. But when i start playing the game i would sit for maybe 3-10 seconds in loading screens. Apparently its a memory leak, was just wondering if theres more people having this problem and if theres any word on a fix? Oh and i have tried updating my drivers.
My computer's parts include:
AMD Athlon 7750 dual core
ATI Radeon HD 4870 (1 gig of virtual memory)
4 gigs of RAM
Windows 7 x86
Asrock a780GXE motherbord
Insane loading screens

Yes I've noticed this as well as some of my friends. It's somewhat annoying but at least the game starts quickly enough to make it worth quitting and restarting.

Yeah, they're pretty annoying. I'm surprised I get them with my 6 gigs of ram and my Intel Q6600(overclocked to 3.0 GHz). Maybe it's 'cause I run more than just DA when I play.

I'm having the same problem, and just brought this up the other day. I play for an hour or so, load times get longer, and then I start getting stuttering just wondering around. I wasn't sure what the heck, but I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one having the same problems!

As long as you have the Ram requirements, it shouldn't matter what you run in the background, unless its another game. Typically the only thing that matters other than RAM is your processor, and you and I obviously meet the requirements on all fronts.

Google "Dragon Age memory leak". Its a very common problem with the game, highlighted on almost every game site's forums, so you aren't alone.

It's such a nice engine too, I really hope they get this and the textures worked out on PC. Before I even said anything about how enjoyable this game was I couldn't shut up to my friends about the engine they'd created for it.

It is an awesome engine with a decent toolset very capable of creating new games. I have the leak problem and drastically increasing load times on a pretty high end system, but it can be worked around by restarting the game every now and then, very far from ideal though
I think the textures are more of a "content" issue, not so much an engine issue. The disparity between texture resolution is probably related to when the content was added to the game. Some added towards the end of the game's dev cycle (high res), some added towards the beginning (low res). Remember, DA:O is a massive game, development spanning many years. What they set as their minimum when they started development no doubt changed later on in development.

This issue also makes "quick loads" a minute long or more when it should take seconds. Thankfully I only have to restart my computer after hours of playing DA:O since at that point is when it begins to take a minute to load. When my dialogue scenes or running around get jumpy I know it's time to save and reboot.
