I'm sure you could easily mod the photo into something else.

I bet someone will eventually, if no one has already. That's the glory of technology.

Just check out these texture modifications. http://deadendthrills.com/

Mass Effect 3 is there now.

I've no doubt the Tali photo will be modded in half a dozen different directions before the year is out...

Wish they'd put a bit more effort into it, but the general design of what they came up with is fine by me.

Not from what I understand, in fact it dextro-amino foods may even taste sweet.  Your body would just not do anything (or much) with it other than flush it out as waste.

In Mass Effect 2, I drank liquor for dextro-amino races, after being told that it would kill me...

I instantly passed out and woke up in a bathroom behind a urinating Turian.

I still like this version... I feel like it fits her voice better, sweet and vulnerable, but strong and competent at the same time. Though I like the rendering of her body in the OP, I think it's really accurate. Combine the two and you got a winner.

This image seems to fit Tali. I remember seeing her in the elevator on the citadel and thinking how funny it was to see her giddy and twitchy. She isnt a child, but then she isnt quite a woman yet. If this had been the ingame image of her it would have fitted perfectly for me.

Yeah, based on Codexes, it's similar to what a Quarian would probably look like, and I guess I'm okay with that, but just put more effort into it...

That was Ryncol. The Krogan are levo-based. Turian brandy would probably kill you.

Kissing Tali would probably give Shepard a hell of a rash.  Still, totally worth it. :D

Oh, and how Tali takes her mask off like 5 times and they deliberately face the camera away from her front is just insulting.

Precisely. The image they chose was attractive but didn't have this sense of youthful cuteness mixed with strongheaded fierceness that Tali has.

Anyone else like the TaliBjorks I cooked up?

Oh!, I remember!... thats another gripe I have with ME3!

ME2 = cool getting progressively drunk vfx with the camera POV veering about before blackout.

ME3 = standing still and cheap 'n' cheerful camera fade-to-black from edge of screen.

Why was that removed?, I swear sometimes I think the production quality is going in reverse.

I liked the image that Bioware was trying to get across, just not the way they executed it. I saw a 'proper' photoshop job someone did on the picture with proper hands, better eyes, etc, and I really liked it.

Besides, it's good to know that we aren't the only apemen in the ME universe.

I think that can be blamed on EA.

They like to ruin games and developers, it's a hobby.

Have to disagree with you in this case. Sorry OP, is this is your own artwork (the design is better than some of the concept art), but not appealing, not even a little. The mandible thing is weird enough on turians. Still, I'm not a Tali fan, so maybe true Tali-mancers would like this.

http://unrealitymag....t-at-talizorah/

Here's one from a site of random lists I visit. Again, I wasn't really impressed. Great artwork, but too asari (so yeah, OP, no Tali really seems like the Tali to me)

This one is PERFECT. But, since the first moment I saw the in-game pic, I noticed it was just a photoshoped model. And I liked it. The only problem is that they didn't bother to render that face in 3d. They spent 15 minutes on Photoshop and thought: "That's it! This is Tali". And then they come and (3 of them) say it was a "labor of love". Wanna know who were those 3? Hudson, Jarret Lee, and a dev I talked to that asked me not to mention his name here. I think this is too much of a coincidence all of them using the exact same expression. They probably had some kind of agreement where all of them should say the same thing. I REALLY DOUBT all of the devs thought those endings where "wonderful"... I mean, how many people where involved in this game? 3 hundred? Not one of them said: "Wait, this is bs!"? Look at the polls here. About 90% of the fan base didn't like them... There is something really weird behind all that.
And for the record, the "romance lines" where shallow and few, IMO. And the whole "take back earth" part felt like a failed "CoD" like attempt. "Hold the line until certain requirement is met. Until that, take that horde of enemies to fight".

Here.

Same model.

I like her original design, regardless of where the source image came from. I would have preferred to see her face modeled in 3D rather than photoshopped (which seems to be the consensus).

In the real world? a large portion of our food is of a different chirality than what the majority of our bodyi s made off.

In the masseffect verse - you'd die from food poisoning (which also doesn't make sense, since at worst you shouldn't be able to extract nutrition from it.)

But hey, this is a developer that believes an asteroid impact is stronger and a supernova.

Uhh....nice attempt, but that is not possible.
Javik mentions quarians were the most beautiful among all alien species, back when they didn't wear helmets.
So uh, beautiful and that ghoul-ish face doesn't really go together.

Javik has four eyes, scary teeth, and a giant head. Beautiful according to him will definitely NOT be the same thing as beautiful according to humans.

Waaaaaay too glamorous IMO, unless all Quarian are super hot space amazons and they deem Tali as average.  I prefer the drawn picture myself, fits her character better.

Like I said in another thread, she should have looked like some horrible monster, so that Bioware could claim that "Tali's true beauty resides in her heart." It would have been an awesome experience. I wonder how many people would still like Tali if she looked like something that crawled from their nightmares.

There is a big difference between complaining about design and complaining about quality.
If they bothered to do a 3d model or at least a decent art - sure, you can say its just fans who are always unhappy about something and its subjective anyway. I'd be happy with any design personally, even the one we've got - they're the authors, its totally their right to decide how a race should look.
But a crappy zero effort photoshop is bad from any perspective.
