I am satisfied with the way da:o, imported into da2 expect for the obvious bugs. I don't demand anymore than a few non-important quests and perhaps a cameo or two to give a sense that the Fereldand and now Kirkwall my characthers left behind still exist, and of course that the warden and Hawke exist in the world and isn't reduced to some generic male hero.
DA3 & Importing - Import feature for DA3 confirmed. Yay or Nay?

If the imports aren't going to function correctly, why not just start with a few default histories to choose from like in DA2, but also have a a 'custom' option where we choose what happened from various drop-down menus? Those who don't care can take one of the standard ones, those who do can define what happened previously in their games to their heart's content.

I'd be happy if just the big decisions were imported, such as whether the Warden died and whether Hawke sided with Mages or Templars. Some people will heartily disagree with me but I'm cool with not having cameos from every character who was ever a companion. Ex party members turning up with elaborate excuses on why they're in the area in DA2 seemed odd.

Since they confirmed that they are working on making the import possible, I'll change the title of this thread to something more suitable on this topic.

Imports present their own challenges, but I hope they can keep them.
Blank slates are good for those who just get into it, at least.
