That was an amazing read. If thats true, my love for the series will be renew. Now, if that take too much time to be revealed, the series will probably stay dead for me.

If Bioware planned this all along then the whole point is for people to experience the ending or there is no twist. If they come out and say "yeah, thats the point, indoctrination theory is true and and we have been planning to release dlc ending" then that would spoil things and make it all pointless.

if indoctrination theory is true..pure genius. if not..please consider it

Great read OP, nicely assembled and newly thought over facts.
It's hard to not think of this as something deliberate, something potentially fantastic.

This does indeed bring hope, more than most of the other material on the subject I've read, wereas I'm often filled with sadness and WTF's I am now hopeful =) if a bit guarded still.

Strongest article I've seen for the indoctrination theory. Kudos.

On a side note, they'd certainly achieve the "unforgettable ending" feat they wanted.
This is GENIUS.

All we can do is hope it is true!  All Bioware has to do is tell us it's true!

A great read for everyone.  BUMP

Another good IT read. Really compelling evidence, and I still have my fingers crossed tightly that this all turns out to be true. If it does, this to me is a BRILLIANT move by Bioware... in terms of writing and giving us pause to think before pulling out a big twist. In terms of business sense though, I'm not sure. Regardless of what I think about fans demanding a developer change their game (the developer's game), I wonder if the massive fallout from said fans will be worth it.

I really think people are getting carried away with this notion...

Sure, I would love to believe that Bioware are fooling us, and really they have an ending of insane awesomeness up their sleeves. But seriously, Indoctrination Theory? It's starting to sound a bit like 9/11 conspiracies, where everyone is picking out snippets of the game and of codex which don't quite fit, and therefore deciding that the conclusion totally implausible and that Bioware must have another plan.

Here's a suggestion for why much of the ending feels illogical and reused: EA were breathing down Bioware's neck to release the final, and most lucrative, instalment of a very successful franchise, and that meant rushing things. Occam's Razor...

What if it's just a way to keep people from spoiling the ending for those who haven't finished? I'm being optimistic, but what if they wanted a lot of people to finish the game before releasing the true ending? Eh, whatever.

While I agree that many conspiracy theorists are nutjobs in general, this is a little different. We're talking about a game, in a sense a work of artistic expression that was created with liberal use of symbolism, methaphore, and other storytelling elements. It's more plausible that hints were built into the game (as they often have in previous installments) as to the true nature of the plot.

Why is Boware so defensive of the current endings (LOTS OF SPECULATION FOR EVERYONE) and no word of plans for the real ending DLC if this is true?

The theory is vague enough to make sense but everything Bioware did up to now proves that the theory is not what the developers wanted us to think...

Yeah, the thing is they keep saying they'll respond in regard to the endings once more people have completed the game.

I think that if this is true (IT, a DLC/Exp with the "What's next"...), it means they wanted us to feel this way. They wanted to see who fell in the reaper's trap and who succeed. So if they'd already said "Yeah, the ending is indoctrination" everyone'd have chosen the "Destroy" ending. :)

Doing this they give a complete new experience, our own indoctrination. Where some of us believed that the right thing to do was to do the things Saren and TIM did. All those people became indoctrinated. ^^

And they'll get more. If what I believe is true, we won't get a response until April 6th. I have hope, though. :)

Because the game was just released in Asia, and so more time is needed for fan rage and wtf to reach critical mass. Besides, this theory at least provides an explanation for the insanity that was the last moments of the game. It is still just a theory, though, so I'd hope that anyone putting stock into it doesn't take it as absolute truth. It's nice to think that our favorite company here is cooking up something brilliant rather than just rushing out some canon "wtf" ending.

Was it a good idea, though? Can't say.

Indoc makes more sense than the ending, but there's no way it's true.

Doing something unexpected and clever is nice and all, but there's absolutely no way in hell a sane company would sacrifice so many sales, so much of its core fanbase, and take so much flak and negative publicity/word of mouth for it. Doubly unlikely with EA at the helm, are you kidding?

At the minimum they would have plainly said by now that the ending is not what it seems and that there's more to come. They haven't.

If they decide to make ending DLC, the only logical move is to announce it immediately once the decision is made, and then it's going to have to be developed from scratch, which means several months at least.

It hasn't even been two weeks since release, they will wait at least a month to say anything regarding it... Let everyone play it, then they will say something

Regarding the theory.... I like it, but it would have been much better if the remainder of the game played out after the credits, instead of that stargazer crap

I want to believe! Honestly though I'd be surprised if we get a staight answer in the near future. I'll just chill out in the Indoc Theory theads, polishing my tinfoil hat, and re-watching RoosterTeeth's Fails of the Weak until I don't feel so bad about the ending anymore (Denial? A river in Egypt? You don't say).

Damn, I'm going to be about as productive as a hibernating bear this semester... Woops?
