Made peace. Though the Quarians are idiots. Should have eaten them.

I like to phrase it like this:

"The Quarians destroyed a monastery, where Geth gathered in electronic consensus to be at peace." You know what the Gethnwere probably doing? Watching "Creator" death reruns while expressing sadness.

Or, oh, I dunno, doing the logistics of building more Geth Dreadnoughts; can't believe we blew that one up.

The universe is better without AI's

Catalyst = evil
EDI = ok
Geth = killing tools for reapers
Legion = cute
Reapers = big enemy
Unnamed AI on the Citadel = stealing credits from Flux and tries to blow you up
Rogue AI on Luna = killing stuff

The Hannibal AI on Luna was EDI. Also, it was a VI that, like the Geth at their dawn of sentience, had reached a critical threshold and began to gain awareness. Supposedly as Shepard was attacking her/it.

Still, I'm surprised by how little people hate the Geth after fighting them over and over again, and only having Legion as a proof that they can be more than killing machines.

All of this in game of course. From Shepard's perspective.

Legion's not the only one.

My platoon of Geth Primes say so.

And when you do broker a peace, the Geth emerge and start making plans to aid Admiral Raan and her settlement efforts.

....And begin to cure the Quarian reliance on their suits and help get them used to the atmosphere of Rannoch again..By destroying the Geth, you've done the Quarians (and the galaxy) a huge disservice.

Maybe you should finish the game first?

I really don't care. Because ATM it doesn't even matter. The Relays killed everyone unless future DLC tells otherwise.

There's a certain type of person who usually sides with the anti-Geth movement.

I guess it needs repeating; when uploaded with the Reaper code, Geth have fully functioning, individualistic neural nets; they pass the Turing test with ease, reproduce, and have culture. In biology, we call that "alive."

When you have the chance to destroy the geth, they haven't been uploaded with the Reaper code. This argument makes no sense.

Eh? The Geth Primes that want to fight for you are uploaded with the Reaper code, are they not?

And, if not, then what you do if you destroy them is prevent them from ascending to true, individualistic organisms, thus denying them life.

Peace if obviously the best choice, but if I had to choose between geth and quarians, then OP is right; the geth are the ones to go.

And that's not even taking the consequences of the ending into account.

One important thing "Anti-AI" people seem to forget too, even though they acknowledge Legion as "Friendly", Legion isn't an individual until the final moments of Rannoch. He's an avatar of the Geth Consensus, IE, the Geth as an entire race/species (whatever analogous term would be appropriate)

So if you accept Legion, you accept the Geth.

I'd take the Quarians only because I need the most violent people to fight the Reapers; that'd be them.

I always managed peace, but if a choice was necessary, I'd side with the Geth. The Quarians brought destruction on their own heads.

Disagree. The Quarians have had their chance and blew it. Not going to destroy the only race in the galactic community capable of living in peace for three centuries for the benifit of a bunch of idiots who pick a fight they can't finish.

What would you do if you lived in a galaxy that swarmed with syntethics that hate your organic race. And along comes another organic race and starts a war on the rest of the galaxy. Would you protect the syntethics that hate you and fight against this new race or join those who are more like you and welcomes your aid?

I kind of find it logical that the Geth joined the reapers and fought you in ME1 and ME2, because everyone hates them anyways, but along comes my Shepard and actually tries to understand their view and tries to save them instead of hating them because of what they are and what the Quarians wants us to believe. And by what is revealed in ME3, it was the Quarians that started it all and even hurt their own people that tried to defend the geth.

The part with the Geth was extreamly satisfying, I managed to make peace between the races and let Tali see her homeworld again.

Unfortunally I did not get to see her face, even though it would have been the best moment to show it when she took of her mask. Such a big letdown to such a brilliant story segment.

I understand all of your arguments and with other Shepard's I could be on that side too. But my main Shepard just doesn't trust AI's, hated having EDI on board until she saved his life ten times, and thinks machines and their living software are still not worth as much as one organic hair.

It's a popular theme in scifi, and I'm surprised there are so few people who hate Geth besides me.

I don't think the Geth would endanger organics later, as long as we don't spark a new conflict. The Quarians started the Morning War. After the Geth won, they let the Quarians flee and began cleaning up the damage the war caused to Rannoch. Legion essentially states that the true Geth are restoring the planet for the Quarians to return some day. Instead of taking a nice gesture at face value, the Quarians start trouble again, and in the process strengthen the Reapers and cost us that insanely powerful Geth dreadnaught.

And after Legion distributed his upgrades, each and every Geth became a free-thinking entity capable of preference and forming unique opinions. These are the developments that allowed EDI to form an attachment to Joker and side with the crew of the Normandy over Cerberus without a second thought. A single extant Geth who can actually develop a friendship with an organic as an equal would be enough to render the starchild's argument invalid.

So yeah, I'd rather not blow up the Geth.

..I killed most of those people myself..

Before the Reapers arrived, the Geth lived peacefully for 300 years. No race can touch that record. Even after the Reapers, the Geth where peaceful. It was a small splinter group that followed Sarren and Sovriegn.

So all those dead people, half of whom I killed personally, can shut up.

Wrex, too.

I was "kill all Quarians" for a second.
I felt sorry for them but now I'm just dissapointed in them.
The Geth are the victims not the Quarians as I assumed in the previous games.
The next Qurian that complains about Geth has a good change of being spaced without his suit.

Sorry let my renegade side take over.

The geth killed all those people, not you; don't be ridiculous. And they chose to follow Saren; they weren't forced to. And the geth have killed anyone who ever tried to contact them or enter geth space; that doesn't seem peaceful to me.

Yes, well, my canon Shepard thinks you should all hate Geth. I think de debate is cool. But I think it's strange that often everyone pretends it's obvious to choose to save them both. While I think the grey options could have just as much people for and against it.

Saying all Geth followed Sarren is like saying all humans are in Cerberus. Or all Turians follow the Reapers, becuase Sarren did. Right? I mean. He's a Turian, right? Eclypse Sisterhood killed the volus merchant! Why should I care that Thessia burns! Those asari monsters are killers!

The Geth Heretics disagreed and removed themselves from the Geth Consensus. They left. They where no longer avatars of The Geth. And guess what, they where destroyed (or re-written) So they paid for that error in calculation already.

And I totally did shoot Williams myself...And left Kaiden on Vimire because I didn't like his attitude...And chose not to save the council...

This, they where portrayed as morons, without any redeeming factors - I don't really know if they where this way all along, or where only made this way for 3 to make you wan't to side with the geth.

On second thought, I remember a strong urge for punching a lot of them in 2.
Tali was different from the most of them.
