Anyone else tired of these PG 13 romance scenes?

PG-13 might be too mature.

I also loved Kaidan's romance seen. It was hot, and sweet at the same time. While remaining PG-13 lol.

Call me old fashioned, lame or tame, but I actually think the Ashley scene worked out and I can honestly say that because the dialogues and conversations are more important than the romance scenes. What i want to say is that the Samantha-scene lacks passion and weight because it doesnt have any emotional content leading up to it. They could have made that scene as nude and explicit as they could, without changing the fact that it means absolutely nothing to me as a player.
I thought the Liara sequence was very well done (even thou i dont like scales on my ladies), not only because the animations signals passion and love, but since the dialogues and story actually builds up the emotions needed for the player to feel that passion.
By the way, same things goes for the goodbye-sequences. If you dont feel the emotional context leading up to that point, the conversation can be as tearjerking as Titanic (smile) and still mean nothing to me

Not the point dont need R scenes its a game not a porno.
Here we go with another person who failed to read the OP, comprehend it, then make a logical response.
I think I am going to keep a running tally of the number of people who equate brief nudity to porn. Who knows, maybe it will catch on and they'll start making pornos with brief nudity so that porn can reach a wider audience and be okay for kids to watch?

Showing skin doesn't make the romance any better.
As a writer, I think that sex scenes can add to a character's development. When we are intimate with someone, we act differently. It can reveal thing about us. It doesn't have to be explicit and pornographic, but adding a scene or two and removing the underwear (my girlfriend takes off her underwear when we have sex, and she is NOT an Asari) wouldn't hurt.
They could really tap into the potential it has.
But I guess that won't happen because of the American audience.

[SPOILER] Turian without the armor.
This is official concept art to my knowledge.
That actually cropped up on Deviant Art last year. I don't recall the artist name, but he/she was not affiliated with Bioware.
The artist also did a female turian, female krogan and female salarian.
Went looking for the DA profile and think I found it:

In the description for the turian the artist writes:
"First of all I must state that this is official Mass Effect concept art and that I take no credit for it. This is copyrighted material. All I've really done is photoshop the male Turian to what I believe a female Turian would look like."
Those are some nice concepts for the female races though. But there is a female turian depicted in one of the ME comics.

I agree, ish.
On one hand full nudity is not required as in the case of Mass Effect it serves no purpose other than to be porn for the sake of porn. On the other hand I feel the romance scenes are serverly lacking in regards to passion and intent.
I feel that the characters should be naked, and be displayed for what a are; a couple madly in love having sex. I hasten to re-iterate that this should be tasteful, which despite what many of you will have seen on the X-rated channels, is possible. Suggestion is a powerful force, the meer thought of an act can be just as, if not more satisfying than the act itself. If you know what to suggest.
I understand re-creating the passion that drives two human-beings together is hard at the best of times, however the animators have a fully virtual camera and a 3D enviroment in which they can use any angle availible, even ones that would be next-to impossible in conventional media.
I, as a Talimancer, was deeply dissapointed with Tali's scenes. I genuinly wanted to see Quarian anatomy (minus the squishy bits, which I can make up in my head). I am for one quite curious to know the colour of her skin and, if this makes me weird then so be it, those curious knee joints of hers.
But what I really want to see is real romance. Where is a scene where Tali takes a sharp intake of breath and squirms slightly as Shep runs his finger across her back? And why don't I see them pressing their bodies together tight, embracing as if they never want to let go, a golden tear in Tali's eye when she thinks about what is to come?
Bah, I know I suck at romance scenes but the principle is there. They could be so much better and for me would fit with the game much better than the current "safe but pretty boring" scenes. Nobody is asking for porn, just a tastefully shot, accurate representation of the characters trying to convey their love for what could be the last time.
n.b. Sorry if it is a bit ranty, structure is not my strong point.

This is a good point. It does only seem that us Americans have a hangup about this type of thing. That being said, I would like it if someone would blaze the trail when it comes to sexual maturity in games.
I would be that person if I had half the talent of the people who worked on the majority of this game.

I just think afterwards the characters lying in bed under the sheets instead of on top of it, in their underwear would look so much better.

I'm mostly OK with the PG13ness of them because they both had the right level of build-up. When you're in a relationship with a character, the regular dialogue/cutscenes with the characters actually reflects that throughout the game. I especially noticed that with Garrus.
Would I have liked more nudity and explicitness, yeah. I'm still happy with what I was given though.

It is this very attitude that sex and nudity is taboo in America that causes so many problems with regards to teen pregnancy. People don't want to talk about sex> leads to misinformation> leads to being unprepared> leads to baby. I saw a documentary about it on Netflix from my xbox and it states that the teen pregnancy rate in US is 1in4 and that is dramatically higher when compared to some country like Holland. There they talk about sex, advise to wear and carry condoms, and at the same time teach that it should be with someone you love.
They did a compare and contrast by asking Holland Girls/Guys what they thought about a girl/guy carrying a condom in wallet/purse. They said that it showed that the person was mature, responsible, and prepared if it ever came to that. Just think how many times (those of you who have done it) it was spontaneous, unprepared, and a little under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, the American girls/guys said that if a guy carried around a condom, they thought he was a pervert, that he was looking for any excuse to get laid, etc. They also said that if a girl carried a condom it meant she was a ****, she got laid a lot, she was loose etc. A police officer doesn't carry around a gun everyday for work because he plans on shooting people, now does he?
